We had riesling, beer, spicy chicken wings, garlic noodles, and the yummiest over baked and glazed brussels sprouts. To top it off, we ordered the bread pudding cream brulee and I must say the flavors of the vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, chocolate, and creme brulee all melts in your mouth. get ready for a party 🥳 in your mouth. “What a surprise! This is not your normal coffee shop located in an office building. It has indoor seating that can easily fit 50+ people. They have a beautiful outdoor patio that can fit another 40 people. I see a sign here at my table, that says you can even have an event here that they will host for you. In addition to Coffee and espresso, they serve beer and wine, as well as smoothies and organic juices. I had about three hours to kill between meetings and wanted to try something other than the usual coffee houses and this was a wonderful surprise. In summary, this is a great meet up location with lots of private, intimate seating areas and as I’m posting this, I’m watching one of the employees meticulously arrange flowers on the counter as an added little welcoming touch. Oh, I had their house coffee, and it was fabulous.

“The food is as good as it looks! I couldn’t believe it when my parents asked me if I wanted to go to a Revolutionary War tavern replica & museum near the beach in northern San Diego. Like, huh? But the building reminded me of growing up on the east coast, and the museum reminded me of how lucky we are to have this country & those who fought for it. I loved the cozy interior with brick and wood. My parents are regulars, so they know the server, and he was super nice. They have a great Old Fashioned, and we all got the Seafood Trio (mine with double cod). The fingerling potatoes were to die for. It was all delicious. Amazing Caesar salad, too. Definitely had leftovers. Excited to go back for their happy hour. Can’t wait to try wagyu sliders, mussels, and clam chowder. Seriously, it all sounds good. Definitely worth a trip! And you’ll be back to try it all 😁“

“This is a really special restaurant. Their waiting staff is very attentive and deals quite well with children. They also go beyond with regulars in treating them as close friends. It’s quite unique and very special. I’ve also never had a meal here that wasn’t fantastic. I highly recommend any steak dish on the menu. The bread is real good as well. I recommend this restaurant for an upscale family gathering.“

“Amazing food!!! We got a few things on the menu today. We got the firebird , cali dip , kids meal chicken nuggets . Let’s start with the firebird .. amazing sweet and spicy taste with big nice pickles to maintain the heat overall recommend this sandwich . The Cali Dip was delicious sweet and so much flavor I’d have to say one of the best “Tortas” I ever ate . The fries are the best !!! Sauces are so yummy. Everything was about $47 but SO WORTH IT!“

A little mediocre for the price but it looked beautiful! “Haven't been here in years! Met up with friends for dinner on a Saturday evening and there were lots of open tables on their patio. All the tables against the Japanese pond were reserved.

I ordered the Salmon and quinoa dish and it was pretty good. The portion was a good size. We also ordered the carne asada fries appetizer and I really liked that one too. We don't recommend the Pastrami plate though. It was fatty and falling apart. But the side salad substitution for fries was delicious.

Forgot our server's name but he was great. I couldn't decide on a couple of beers and he offered to give me samples before I ordered. He also took great care of us all evening.“

Syd, the owner, is truly one of a kind. Every time I walk through the doors, I look forward to seeing him. He greets everyone like family and makes you feel genuinely welcome. “The food is quite good. Recently I’ve been disappointed with two things:

1) their removal of the Ahi Salad, one of my favorites which has been replaced by the Mediterranean Salad (just so-so)

2) the increase in prices since I first started dining here.

Otherwise, it’s a great spot for a burger and brew, to take the family or catch the game. I suspect that its proximity to Legoland is why their prices are so high. You can find similar or higher quality food for more reasonable prices.

For example, any salad here (that includes a protein) is going to be $20-25 which seems really steep. They’re not particularly gourmet im a way that would justify that price.

Pretty much any of their appetizers are $15 or over. Likewise, all of their burgers are $20 or over besides their most basic pub burger which is $17. Steep!

You’re looking at easily spending $100 out the door for two people: drinks, mains and an app. There are a lot of places I can recommend within a 15 minute drive that would either cost less or be better.

Anyways, I do like Karl Strauss. The food is good, the staff is great, you won’t be disappointed but your wallet may hurt. This functionally puts them in the $30-50 pp. range when they should be in the 20-30. Just my .02

“I work in this shopping center and needed a quick healthy snack to keep me going between treating my patients, and this cute smoothie spot was perfect. I got the keto smoothie with cacao and berries, and added extra pea protein. It was delicious (see photo), healthy, and the service was quick and friendly. I couldn’t decide between two smoothies and the gal behind the counter gave the best recommendation - Will definitely be coming back!“
