“i recommend coming some minutes before they open to avoid a very long line! i arrived 5min beforehand and there was already several groups in front of me.
i ordered the corn korokke and the hot ebi ten soba. there was a tiny fly fried on my tempura lol but they quickly replaced it with a fresh set. the soba was okay, but i honestly think i’m just not a fan of soba in general.“

“Stopped here for lunch while in the area exploring and saw the line out the front. We figured it must be good if people are willing to wait.
We jumped in the line and waited about 1 hour to get a seat for a table of 4. It was a busy Sunday afternoon. We were not sure if waiting was going to be worth the meal but I would definitely say it was. My wife and I enjoyed it and so did the kids.
We got the chicken fried rice some gyoza a beef soup and a beef and rice bowl. Every bit of the meal was great. The fried rice was simple but full of flavour. The gyoza were fat and fresh, the beef was nice and tender and the soup was rich in flavour and very large in size. We had plenty to take home with us. This place is busy for a reason, great food and great serving sizes
Get in the que it's worth it!!“

“My boyfriend and I came in today after school to place a to-go order. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with open arms they were quick to take our order and the food came out pretty fast. We had the Special Beef noodle soup. It was AMAZING!! the beef was so tender and so flavorful. ( I’m a picky eater so the Bok choy wasn’t my favorite but that was a easy fix but simply not eating it lol) 10/10 Will be coming here very often! ( I added a bit of hotsauce)“

“A bit of a hole in the wall restaurant serving Chinese food with an emphasis on noodles. I had the bbq pork bun and tan tan mien, both of which were really fresh and flavourful. Prices are pretty standard and the portions are pretty big for the price. The place was completely empty when I went there during lunchtime on a weekday so service was quite fast. There was one guy tending to the front of the store and he was polite and attentive. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“Delicious noodles and more. Potstickers are also excellent. You can dial in the heat from zero to super hot. Friendly service. The noodles are hand made which takes four hours to make. Good prices too. Cuisine is from Northern China, near Beijing.“

“This is the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in the East Bay. So I and my friends keep coming back. The dishes are really well done, and the portions are quite good too. While, it can get a little noisy when it’s full, most of the time it’s OK. I particularly love the corn cheese fritters, the jumbo garlic, shrimp, the exquisite, coconut soup, and the ginger dish. The wait staff have been universally considerate and excellent.“

“Super cute spot with great service and great food! The waiters were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed multiple times. The restaurant stays on-theme throughout the establishment which is always fun! I even saw them give the family next to us some monster balloons for the kids. Pho broth was sweet and noodles were delicious. I would definitely come back :)“

“Pho was great! Order was ready quickly compared to another spot I had tried to order from. I love having the option to select beef broth with my veggie pho! The soft fried tofu in the veggie pho was so good!! The grilled shrimp and pork spring rolls were delish too! Will definitely be back - nice to have so close to my home!“

“Holy Basil is one of our absolute favorite places to get delivery from in the Bay Area. Our kids are addicted to the bao buns and garlic noodles. I'm obsessed with the tofu vermicelli. Nothing is cozier on a cold day than their Chili Lemongrass soup. Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day than their fresh rolls and ginger lemonade. We love Holy Basil food!“

“a little expensive for hot pot- but the nice new restaurant feel and the quality of food makes up for it. The meat lover combo for $65 was plenty for two people. Service would really only show up when you placed a new order, and it was a little weird not to receive spoons or bowls (there is a separate self-serve counter for this and sauces) but besides that they were fine. Only rank atmosphere low due to a large amount of families with loud kids wandering the restaurant... cest la vie.“

“We were craving for some pho as a hangover cure and found this place! We were seated quickly when we arrived, and the room was already full!
I ordered their imperial rolls, and the large #1 House special beef soup noodle, which comes with sliced lean beef, brisket, beef tendon, beef tripe, beef balls, and a side plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalopieno, and lemon.
The imperial rolls were just alright; they didn't have enough flavor, lacking the distinct white pepper taste. I would try their shrimp spring rolls next time!
The combination pho tasted delicious, the broth was fragrant, the noodles were cooked to the right texture, and it came loaded with meats.
The staff was attentive, the food came out quickly, and they served hot tea! On top of that, the prices were really reasonable. Highly recommended!“

“Fantastic food in Oakland's Chinatown. Handmade noodles and expansive menu - there's something for everyone. Attentive service and food came out really fast.
Small seating area and expect at least a short wait on the weekends. Great for groups of 2-6 people.
Not the most kid friendly place, but they aren't discouraged.
Parking: Parking can be difficult to find directly on the street - give yourself a few extra minutes.“

“At this location, the fried garlic is served separately—a detail I truly appreciate. I also really enjoy their thin egg noodles, which strike a perfect balance between chewy and tender without becoming overly soft. However, the dish tends to be quite oily, so if you prefer lighter meals, this might not be ideal for you.
My usual order is the Number 1 without kidney, with the soup served on the side. I also always add fish cake as an appetizer. The total cost for two regular dishes plus one appetizer comes to $53.75.
What I love about this restaurant is how it evokes the authentic flavors of Thailand’s street food, especially the dry yellow egg noodles. While it doesn’t include traditional Thai-style char siu or wontons, the taste remains quite close to home.
This well-established Chinese restaurant impresses me with its surprisingly clean restrooms, likely due to my morning visits. Parking can be difficult, as only metered street parking is available. The branch tends to be busy, so clear communication with staff is important. Although there may be a short wait, the service is attentive and friendly.“

“Most slept on noodle soups in Berkeley, not sure how this spot hasn’t blown up.. and arguably better than most of the other hype noodle spots around town. But hey, there’s a reason this spot has been around for decades.
I recommend the beef noodle soup, medium spice ⛽️“

“Yummy Chinese food! Potstickers are made fresh
Vegetarian options: vegetarian options available
Dietary restrictions: vegetarian options available, but it is an asian restaurant so dont expect a whole bunch of options for dietary restrictions like Kosher, vegan, nut free etc
Parking: located on the corner of a street, a couple of parking spots available
Kid-friendliness: kid friendly but a lot of spicy dishes
Wheelchair accessibility: not wheelchair accessible, need to go up stairs“

“I usually order the basil chicken or the green curries but everything is good there. Be careful if you request spicy, mom in kitchen will think you want it “Thai spicy” if you don’t elaborate. Thai spicy dropped me and I love spicy. 😂“

“Some say this is the only “authentic” ramen shop in the East Bay. We had fried shrimp buns (seasonal, yummy) and shared a bowl of 5Chicken Ramen with Rich White “Paitan” Broth. toppings w/ chashu chicken breast. this is a small chain with locations in CA, TX, NYC and Vegas.“

“We’ve been coming to Noodle 21 for over 5 years now, and it continues to be one of our favorite spots! My husband introduced me to this place, and over time I found my perfect pho order — #21 with thin egg noodles, no bean sprouts, and soup on the side.
Back in August 2024, the original owner told us he was leaving and passing the business on to his partner. He was always so kind, always made time to chat with us, and greeted us warmly every visit. I was pregnant at the time, so sadly, he never got to meet our baby — but we’re happy to say we’ve kept coming back and still love it just as much as day one.
The staff now is just as welcoming. They remember us, they remember our baby, and it truly feels like a place that values its regulars. The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is comforting and familiar. We’re so glad this spot continues to thrive, and we look forward to many more meals here as a family.“

“The praram sauce was delicious. They made the sauce vegetarian on request and it was absolutely delicious despite a modification. The veggies in the praram vegetables dish were cooked to perfection as well. Waiting for next visit 🤤
Vegetarian options: Truly vegetarian alternatives on request. At a lot of places the vegetarian swaps taste fishy (pun unintended). No such thing here, their vegetarian dishes are truly free from meat/fish. Thank u Pagarung 🙏“

“Cash only place that has amazing pork liver stir fry. Perfect texture and taste. The wontons are good, and so are the noodles, but the broth is bland. Does not have any of the taste of the iconic fish umaminess. I’d go for a mix between the beef brisket and an order of pig liver.“
“Wow, my mouth was drooling from every part of this meal. I have never had banchan so fresh and so flavorful. The meal was perfection - the beef stew was creamy and slow cooked. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The seafood pancake was so fresh and perfectly put together. 10/10. No notes.“

“Super delicious!
Quick service!
Very stuffy and humid as expected.
We came here for our lunch break hour and were delighted by our meals.
Ordered the large bun bo hue and medium pho dac biet. The large was very generous and filling. Both broths were tasty and and mostly balanced. We felt the food was fairly priced. This was my first time trying Huyet/blood cake and was surprised I liked it. Wasn't gelatinous like I thought. Their tripe is SUPER good. It had flavor instead of just being there for texture, and it vaguely reminded me of menudo.
Also ordered a sugarcane juice and ice thai tea. Both were super delicious and fresh. Definitely worth noting that they fill the entire cup with ice and poured the beverages below ice level which is something you might not expect for $6
They had great condiment options at the table but definitely need to clean then as they were super dirty.
There was a rush that came I'm around 1PM which makes sense because the food is great. Definitely will be coming back to try some more!“
“There is a surprise lunch special at 10.99: Sweet and sour chicken, moderately sweet and sour, it is the taste I want~zheng, the ingredients are onion/pineapple/green pepper, delicious, delicious, and I ate it all...? Give the chef a thumbs up?“

“Here's my one millionth review. I freaking love this place. I can cook my own dan dan noodles, but I can't get my soup buns as delicious as theirs. So I come here and get both. With a side of their chili garlic sauce and szechuan sauce. It's my go to meal. I've been trying new restuarants lately but I always regret not going here for my tried and true good meal. Don't want Dan Dan....get their smoked bamboo and cured pork belly noodle dish. These folks flavors are the best. Eat inside for a chill experience and watch the fantastic cooking on the TV screen, or take to go and get impeccable service everytime. I've wasted some money this week on subpar food, but four hours later, I'm still thinking about these hands down, no contest, delicious dishes. And EVERYTIME someone is visiting me, I get them an order of the soup buns (best once you've let them cool down) and I've never had a single person disappointed by the delicious and often hot experience. THE BEST. The new dumpling place around the corner has a good chengdu noodle if you want vegetarian and they also have soup buns, but Special Noodle is still my fave.“
