“So glad to find out they reopened after being closed a while during the pandemic. Currently you have to pre-order a day in advance for pickup so it takes a little planning but so worth it.Their fried chicken is so crispy. I ordered it with waffle fries and they say they only fire up the fries just before your pickup time so that they're fresh. When I went to pick up my order, they let me know it would just be a few minutes because the fries were finishing and when he came out with my order, he said he accidentally made the salad but included both the fries and salad and threw in a vanilla pudding. Everything was so delicious. Even the bonus pudding had flecks of vanilla bean and tasted so much better than the instant stuff. The chicken and fries were enough for 2 meals.“

“Ordered 3 or their largest pizza's (pepperoni and two cheese) for my son's 2nd grade class and they did not disappoint! Not only did they deliver the pizza to the school, it arrived hot and fresh. The ingredients were fresh and their red sauce was delicious. Each child was able to enjoy multiple slices. Thank you for making our classroom celebration a memorable one.“

The plate featured delicious millet pilaf, collards with a shitake leek sauce, yellow split peas, mixed steamed veggies with a different succulent sauce, and spring mix salad with a fruity dressing. YUM! After that, there was no room for the tempting desserts! I wish this place was closer to my house because I'd be there weekly. The atmosphere is very pleasant too.“

“I had heard great things about Fava and their ex Chez Panisse chefs. I got to try it for the first time. It was even better than I thought it would be. I got the lamb sandwich (with cabbage, yogurt sauce, and fresh herbs like Persian sabzi, in a lavash like wrap that they make themselves.) I also got some lentil and kale soup with yogurt. So yummy. It took me back home to Iran. So good!“

“Total hidden gem in SF. It’s low key and does take out only, but don’t let that fool you, this place rivals SF’s finest establishments. I moved in a few blocks down the street and have been ordering take out almost every day as I unpack. I’ve tried the chicken hummus plate, meatball and rice plate, and the Beyran Soup. Literally each dish was 5/5 amazing. The soup was the best soup I’ve ever had in my life. Super rich flavor, but not overly salty. Just right. Honestly these folks should turn into a full fledged restaurant.“

“I saw someome make a TikTok about this place and immediately knew I had to add that to my list. I headed out to Berkeley on a Friday morning to try it out and I bought a friend who isnt a big fan of Thai and or Asian food. I was thankful to experience this style of northern Thai cuisine I believe the order Tanzie referred to it as. The hospitality and service was above average. I enjoyed all of my food and so did my friend. The pork jowl was agreed to be are favorite out of the all the dishes we tried. Very juicy , flavorful and just all around deliscious topped off with that crispy fried garlic. The brown rice over that soft scrambled "lava egg" was to die for paired with the savory tomato based minced pork that I ordered extra spicy of course. The star of the show that me and my friend both agreed on had to be the "prik nam pla" which I would describe as a sweet and spicy vinegar or fish sauce based dipping sauce accompanied by a nice punch of spice from the thai chili peppers. I dont have any complaints whatsoever and I will definitely be back.“

“Likely the best value in the FiDi for a quick breakfast. I got the Huevos Rancheros ($8.95) add Bacon (+$3). I ordered it through Toast and picked it up. My coffee was made fresh when I got there so it would still be HOT!

The Huevos were delicious! Two eggs, both red and green salsa (one on each), black beans, and a bit of cheese. It was the perfect amount and was delicious. A hint of spice from the salsas, the eggs were well seasoned and the tortillas still crispy.

I'll be swinging by here more often than my usual bagel place in the future!“

“Proper Food is a grab-and-go eatery located in the Financial District. It is targeted towards workers in the area as it is only open on weekdays during breakfast and lunch. They sell a lot of standard fare like sandwiches and salads, albeit with a gourmet slant. Was visiting my company's SF office, which was housed in the same building and got a light breakfast here. I can imagine this being a default spot if I was working there and needed to grab something quick to eat.“

“They just opened and are still working it out. It’s right next to Thanh Ky and a block away from Cam Huong. Got the rarely found Lort Cha, Cambodian Stir fried pin noodles. It only comes with beef. (They should consider offering other proteins). And their Lao style papaya salad (spicy and stinky which I love).

I really wanted to love the Lort Cha but it was sooo sweet, chef prob went a little too heavy handed with the sugar. It’s a savory dish. Papaya salad was good. Portions are huge here bc I think it’s a new business so they don’t have their portions down yet. Everything is also hella cheap.

Will not be coming back unfortunately but try them out tho! The owner seems chill.“

“With 3 hours to kill, we set off for the food court recommended by a pilot we asked and looked at our options. We decided to "be healthy" after a 10-day cruise and were rewarded with amazing food! The Good Catch Vegan Manhattan Seafood Chowder and Tortilla soup were both amazing and the Cabo salad was hearty enough for us to share and not feel deprived in any way. Of course, we then justified a couple of chocolate chip cookies for dessert-LOL. I now hope we have a reason to get back there again.“

“I’ve been coming here for 7+ years and the food has always been high quality, delicious, and well portioned. Can’t go wrong with their salads and recently I’ve learned the paninis are fantastic as well. I will say it’s good to order online and pickup, and leave a little time buffer as they can get pretty busy over the lunch rush. My usual go-to spots were Slice House and Mama Boys, but this tops both of them. The crust and flavor have that classic NY tang and chew I’ve been missing. “Jen and Cecy and the team at Cafe Soleil catered our wedding at the Brazilian Room, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, they took care of *everything* in the venue, and they were truly a joy to work with. Cecy was very responsive, professional, and patient with our many questions and requests. During the reception, the staff was wonderful with the passed appetizers and the bar, and the servers took care of us (bride and groom) with special attention. At the end of the evening, once our guests were done with the bar, the bartender even came out on the dance floor to teach us a line dance. :-) Jen is a treasure: her professionalism is suffused with genuine warmth, and we felt well taken care of from the very beginning of the process. “Loved this place! It's got a vintage farm vibe and it's so cute. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. We got there when they had just opened at 11 am so plenty of seating. I got the Fattoush sald, my hubby got the Spicy tuna sald and my daughter got the burrata grilled cheese. The salads were huge and so god and fresh. I was only able to eat half of it. My daughter ate all her sandwich which was rhe perfect size and she really liked the pesto and burratta on a soft roll. My husband ate his salad and it was super filling. We will definitely be back fir their fresh food.“
