“Great food. Friendly and funny ladies working this place.Vegetarian options: It's Chinese. Very easy to order meatless food here.Parking: Shared with a grocery store, so there is more than plentyKid-friendliness: Big open restaurant, kids welcomeWheelchair accessibility: Wide front doors. Many tables that can easily remove a chair for wheelchair placement“
“Went out with my daughter and bf for a late dinner. We went big. Salt and pepper chicken and Wor won ton to start with. Both were excellent. From there it was Buddha's delight, orange chicken, bacon wrapped scallops, chow mein and steamed rice. Everything was fantastic. It was pi day and they had sold out. But our server Mariah found one hiding in the back for the road and even comped it for us. Amazing food and excellent service as always.“
“Hands down my new favorite Chinese food restaurant in Sac. And I've been here my whole life so I know all the little hidden gems (like Eastern Empire before it shut down...so sad ?). This place is seriously dope though. They're as friendly, kind, courteous and professional as can be; use high quality ingredients (more so than the majority of Chinese restaurants in Sac); they're efficient and my favorite thing about them is they're significantly cheaper than any other restaurant (Chinese or otherwise) in the area! Seriously, I don't know how they do it...but they do! I guess the only not spectacular thing about em is their location. It's easy to miss and I feel like I should maybe have a weapon on me when I come to pick up my food! Lol... Oh, and it's worth mentioning that this isn't really a sit down and dine kind of spot either. They only have 2 small tables in the lobby, and those are more for waiting than eating on. But, if you're looking for some fire a** Chinese food, this is your best bet!-Top Shelf Quality-Great People-Most Affordable Hands Down-ULTRA HIGHLY Recommend“
“Food was great! Quick and prompt seating. I had my 6 year old with me, so I was curious how they handled food togo when you don’t finish. They asked us if we wanted a box; so that was nice. Prices posted online are not the same as what we were charged. The proces are reasonable and we will definitely be back.Parking: Limited parking in a shopping center, but didn’t have a problem finding a spot.Kid-friendliness: Offered a lid for the child’s water.“
“I love this establishment with all of my heart. Where else can a person buy an entire lunch of barbecue buns and hotdog buns for two for under $15 these days? This place has captured my heart and my stomach. Definitely recommend the scrumptious barbecue buns and especially the har gow, which are perfectly tender, flavorful, and delicious. The staff working the counter are very kind and accommodating as well. Highly recommend!“
“Been meaning to try this restaurant for a long time but every time I visited the wait was always over 45 minutes. Finally decided to wait this time and I'm so glad I did! The food was so delicious that I came back two days later. Both times our wait was 45 minutes long but very worth it. I can see why they are so popular! The space is small and seating is quite limited. They do have outdoor seating but it wasn't available due to the cold, rainy weather. They open their Yelp waitlist on some days so I would recommend checking to see if the waitlist is open and joining prior to heading to the restaurant. There's only street parking but I didn't have trouble finding free parking on the same block. Both times we ordered their garlic noodles and vegetable dumplings. We also ordered their mapo tofu, garlic eggplant, and spicy wonton. Food came out super quick after ordering and was piping hot. Portions are generous and everything was so delicious!! My favorite had to be their garlic noodles and garlic eggplant! The garlic noodles are perfectly cooked and seasoned and so tasteful! The garlic eggplant is one of the best ones I've had! The eggplants were soft, savory yet sweet and pairs so well with rice or noodles! I also really liked the mapo tofu as it was flavorful, although it was spicier than I had expected. The vegetable dumplings were perfectly steamed and the filling was full of texture and flavor. The dipping sauce was soy sauce based and I would have liked the dipping sauce to be more vinegary, but it still complemented well with the dumplings. I didn't try the spicy wonton but my friend enjoyed it and it comes with a spicy dipping sauce. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've tried in Sacramento. Would highly recommend!! Definitely suggest coming with friends and ordering family-style so everyone gets to try everything! I really appreciate that they have a variety of vegetarian options and is clearly indicated in their menu. I will definitely be back to try all the other vegetarian options!“
“My coworker bought this a while a back and let me try a little and I very much liked it. I went today for lunch, and the food was even better. I ordered the vegan beef and broccoli and chicken chow mien and they both hit the spot. It is a little expensive. Maybe some dinner combos might help with the cost. I highly recommend and would return when I want to spoil myself a little.“
“Tonight was the 1st time my buddy and I tried this place. My buddy and I try to hit new restaurants each weekend when possible. We have probably tried 25 Chinese restaurants and my finding have been only 1 is consistently good that is Shanghai Garden Downtown. There are several that are good 3 out of 5 times and a few. are just nasty. This place is super Clean, staff are on the job food came reasonably quick, hot and fresh. We ordered the House Chow Mein - Very flavorful with large shrimpGarlic Chicken- sauce was silky with flawless flavorGeneral Tso Chicken- Again a silky spicy sauce that leaves your tongue urning for morePork Fried Rice- Clean and flavorful with perfect balance, texture Not greasy and a twist I've never seen in Fried rice ( bean sprouts ) excellent touch.Hot & Sour soup my buddy described as the best Hot & Sour he has ever hadWon Ton Soup full of flavorEgg Roll - excellent flavor all by itself but dipped in Chineae Mustard a must tryYes we ourself have cooked professionally for over 30 years ourselves so giving a 5 star rating does not come easy.YOU MUST TRY THIs PLACEMy buddy wanted to find fault in this restaurant but had to say it was one of the best we have tried hands down and Thumbs Up“
“Other than the sign out front, you can't tell that there's take out food available when you go in. No sit down dining either. You have to ask the cashier about the food. No menu printed up. In other words, this place is almost the definition of a "hole in the wall" restaurant. And the food? Great stuff. I love the fried rice. The egg rolls are huge (4 per order and they're the size of a large burrito). The other items they make are generally simple but good Chinese food.“
“Tiny place, small parking options, great food. Ill with RSV all of January (happy new year ☹️) I desperately needed some Hot and Sour soup. I'm relatively new to Sacramento, so I looked up restaurants on the internet for pics of the soup. Their's looked like the correct ingredients, so I took a chance. Ordered ahead, Googled directions, and found a place as tiny as a tea cup. One middle-aged couple having quiet a lunch... my type of place. A tiny diamond on a side street between lovely residential area and business area. Soup was fabulous, so I ordered more dishes to go. Good food, not haute cuisine, but really good. This one stays on my speed dial - yeah, I'm old. ?Vegetarian options: It's a Chinese restaurant ? ya know, tofu, veggies ?Parking: Parking lot is a gravel "street/sort of alley" affair but definitely designated for parking. And there is some street parking.“
“Delicious Cantonese/southern Chinese seafood and dim sum restaurant. More upscale and thus more expensive than other equally delicious local alternatives. Food: Dim sum dishes - 4/5 - very good but not exceptional; also relatively overpriced /more bougey. Dim sum is to be ordered hot and fresh from the menu House/wor vs regular wonton soup - 4.5/5 - wonton with other protein variety which overall was very good, but I've definitely have had better wontons House combination fried rice - 5/5 - one of the best Salted egg shrimp and pumpkin - 5/5 - just delicious! A favorite that you must try! Lobster, salted egg style - 5/5 - this style surprisingly works really well for seafood and personally tastes as good as the scallion(green onion) and ginger, my previous favorite lobster style Walnut shrimp - 5/5 - very delicious crispy fried covered sweet mayonnaise and walnuts Black pepper chicken - 4/5 - pretty good Rainbow chicken - 5/5 - excellent taste and aesthetics Seafood satay rice noodle in clay pot - 5/5 - delicious seasoned/sauteed glass noodle with seafood Yue huang vs seafood pan fried noodle - 5/5 - excellent version of a classic Chinese country style rice noodle - 5/5 - delicious stir fry of glass noodle with sautéed protein Yue huang chow fun dry - 5/5 - another fantastic version of a classic wide rice noodle dish Beef chow fun dry - 5/5 - love this w Seafood chow fun with egg wet - 5/5 - if you love seafood + egg + chow fun rice noodle Ambience: Large spacious dining area featuring beautiful Chinese traditional art Service: Fast and friendly“
“Tried the Foil wrapped chicken, lobster cheese wontons, beef fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, and shrimp with green beans. The wontons are crispy and tasty. The foil wrapped chicken was excellent, tasty and very juicy. The fried rice had good taste, I could taste the fire of the hot wok. The shrimp and green beans had a brown sauce, with the beans crispy and the shrimp cooked just right. The walnut shrimp were also good, not too sweet and the batter stayed crispy.Overall a good restaurant, prices are good, service is great.“
“Can't wait to explore the menu, the Mongolian beef was Amazing! I was born in Japan and haven't tasted anything as close since I was there! I will keep periodically updating.....Parking: There is a security guard walking....Wheelchair accessibility: Very open and easy to get to.“
“Good Food, always fresh and made to order- this is my go to spot for Chinese food when I am at work since it is close by! My favorite are lunch specials Mongolian Beef with fried rice, lemon shrimp with fried rice, chicken wing with chow mein, beef broccoli with fried rice and their hot & sour soup!“
“This is hands down one of my favorite places to eat. I haven't eaten here in years and it was still amazing. My favorite is the chicken salad, that with some fried rice is a great quick dinner. I used to eat here once a week when I lived across the street. I'm glad to see that it's still around and just as good.“
“The food is very flavorful and the portions are very generous. It’s very clear the food is prepared fresh with quality ingredients. The service is very friendly and welcoming even when they’re busy. I’m visiting town for a work trip and this has quickly become my go to spot.“
“Went in during lunch and it did not disappoint. The staff is very welcoming. This place is definitely not your average Chinese takeout spot. The food was not greasy or dry, it actually tasted homemade.Had an order of egg rolls, nothing special. However, the main dish (Four Season) was delicious! Mix that with the rice that comes on the side and it’s just an amazing meal. Will definitely be back.“
“My first time ordering at this fine establishment! Although I ordered take out for myself this very first time the store itself is very nice inside. Authentic setting and very clean and spacious. The food was superb and the portions are most plentiful. My next visit will definitely be to dine in and have their soup! Also the gentleman was very polite and prompt!“
“You never know what you might get when you try a new restaurant and trust the yelp reviews. I did ask a gentleman standing in line waiting for his to-go order what was good here (not hi, not excuse me)! He gave his seal of approval and we stayed. This place is worth the visit! We were celebrating a friend's birthday and her only ask...Chinese food! We were a party of 5 and walked in without at wait. We opted for the family style meal for 5. The portions were HUGE (leftovers for the next day), the service attentive, huge chunks of fresh vegetables, and enjoyed the variety. And the food kept on coming! The only thing all of us didn't care for were the egg rolls. They were meh.“
“On lunch hour I randomly decided to choose this place. This place definitely surprised me. As entering the place I can smell the incense burning somewhere. Soft music was being played which is new to me in a pho restaurant. It was a nice touch no complaints here. I order their pho combo L. The broth was really well done. Super clear broth. There were plenty of meat! Waitress was attentive. Nothing bad I can say. Surprised they have this good of a quality pho in this area!“
“Recommending the pork spring roll -- it's stuffed with tender and flavorful pork with a nice char on it, in addition to crispy bean sprouts and lettuce, springy rice noodles, and chewy rice wrapper. The peanut sauce it comes with is a little spicy.“
“Always try to come here whenever I'm in the area. Sometimes they are closed and get depressed. Amazing food and tastes authentic. Fresh ingredients and friendly owners. Great place❤️Vegetarian options: There is vegetarian options. You can even request vegetarian versions of original dishes.Kid-friendliness: Is kid friendly.Parking: Free parking, but try to be quicks because Sac PD like to give parking tickets on competitive parking areas like Broadway.“
“This plac w has an awesome authentic Chinese food menu. Jay the owner is often found behind the bar serving drinks. He loves his cognac liquor. The sea bass and prawn are the best in town. Bring your steeltip darts to as he has many dart boards to throw on. Warm and relaxed atmosphere where a lot of laughs are had.“
“The dumplings had thick wrappers, and while the beef and pork chive flavors were ordinary, the portion size justified the price. The savory and spicy chili sauce complemented the dish well, while the sweet sesame sauce added a pleasant contrast.“
“Great selection of vegetarian options, haven't tried one I don't like yet! Service is rapid fire quick and I've come here on work lunches with no stress of running late. They keep the place very cold so I always bring a sweater but other than that it's a great spot for a sit down lunch.“
“The staff is friendly and the food is great. Warm atmosphere makes it a nice place to eat and relax with family and friends.Parking: It's in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: First floor, no stairs so I believe it is wheelchair accessible.“
“Food tastes great! Have had and love so far: wonton soup; egg flower soup; hot and sour soup; green bean chicken; appetizer assortment (spring rolls; crispy wonton; cream cheese wonton; foil wrapped chicken; fried prawns). Lady at the counter is sweet. The building and location itself is awful, but the service and food are great value and great taste.“
“Leo's kitchen is our "go to Chinese food restaurant". We have been going here for about 4 years now. Always consistent food. We have never gotten ill from eating here. Everything is yummy from the soups to the appetizers (we were bad and ordered their appetizers... crispy gau gee, char siu, ribs, etc). Their selection is great and they have lunch plate specials (protein with your choice of fried rice or noodles and either an egg roll or cream cheese puff AND soup). The owners are very friendly too - try it - you won't be disappointed!“
“First dimsum experience in Sacramento. I went around noo on Sunday. The parking lot was full, so I ended up parking at Target. Waited about 30 to 40 minutes to get a table. Once we sat down, the carts came by quickly we were able to eat right away. I loved dimsum selections and they were very tasty. There were three of us and we spent about 90 dollars including tips. I would come back here to get dishes that I missed.“
“Had to make a trip to Harbor freight while out that way and came across the Palace and knowing me being a food critic and not biting it till I try it at least once right well the food was goooood fresh and tasty will try again for sure whenever that way thx Dragon palace! I was hungry and didn't want to get hangry...“
“I love it here the food is great and it comes very quickly and instead of white rice and fried rice choices they also give you chow mein as a side with your main course! It came to $26. bucks for two!!! Amen. The Waitresses are very sweet this is our second time coming and not our last.“
“These Thai chili basil wings pack a punch of flavor that's sure to please any spice lover. The perfect balance of heat from the chili and fragrant basil creates a mouthwatering experience. Each bite bursts with deliciousness, leaving you craving more. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tasty and slightly spicy treat!“
“I flew back into Sacramento International Airport (SMF) from LAX the other day as flying direct back to Red Bluff was way more expensive, My friend picked me up at the airport and wanted to get dinner at this restaurant she knew. Cool, I'll pay since you picked me up. Wing's Restaurant looks like a real locals place. We were joined by a friend of her's so there's 3 of us. She ordered a bunch of food to go as we decided it was better to eat at her house. Fine with me. We ordered the Singapore Noodles, Beef Chow Fun and General's Chicken and the hot braised chicken wings which we re-plated cause it came with the sauce and garnish separate. The noodles dishes were good and still very hot when we got back to her house. I liked the curry taste of the Singapore noodles and the chow fun had that wok seared flavor like a charbroiled burger. The general's chicken was pretty standard, I've had better. But the wings, holy moly, those were good with that sauce over them. Still crisp skin and sauce was perfect. I think the skin would not be as crispy if they sauced the wings at the restaurant, cause they might get soggy in the car. We all like the food and told my friend we can go there again if she picks me up at the airport again!“
“Earlier this year, our favorite Chinese restaurant, Kim's, closed. The rent doubled (KP Market strip), they couldn't afford it and decided to retire after 32-years. We tried Chef Bo. THIS is our Go-To now. The Orange Chicken dinner combo, very spicy with steamed & chicken fried rice. It's a HUGE portion. It wasn't "very spicy" BUT enough to not be over whelming. My husband was sure it was going to be enough for the both of us, we still have leftovers. Shredded Pork w/ Hot Garlic Sauce, very spicy. This was spicy but, again, not overwhelming and spicier than the chicken. Very little leftovers. Chicken Chow Mein. Now this is where they have won us over! There's no spice level to choose from but I asked. (Kim's had a Spicy Beef Chow Mein that was the bomb) They did it. This was the 2nd time. People, it was so good! This is the first time we've only ordered 3 items and we were so satisfied. We ordered through DD. The food arrived hot. Give them a try.“
“Yummy! Pleasantly surprised, been looking for a new Chinese restaurant and realized that I pass by every day. Called to see if they could make chicken with black bean sauce, my favorite. They said yes and it would be ready in7 mins. Also, tried their potstickers, both had excellent flavor and this is the best chicken w/BBS I have ever had. The only item I missed was the sauce that often comes with potstickers. Next time I'll ask. A great find, Im thrilled.“
“We love the mandarin! It's crazy to me how bad the reviews are on here. We used to come here every Wednesday for lunch, until we had our baby. Now it's a date night spot. The Szechuan orange chicken is our favorite! The po-po platter is also a win! Hoping they stay open for a while because we love it!“
“No frills to go dim sum and a la carte options. BBQ pork buns both baked and steamed were on point and delicious, especially the baked ones. Tried BBQ pork filled pastry dough, interesting and reminded me of a British pasty. Fried taro dumpling was ok w savory ground pork filling. Har gow and siu mai were just ok, wrapper on har gow was too thick and filling a bit gummy, wrapper likely overcooked from sitting in constant stream and siu mai had an overpowering porky meat smell.“
“Usually busy when I come here. Small little hole in the wall place that is great to grab lunch. Wait time is comparable to Gold Rush Grill across the street. I wish there was more comfortable seating available to eat at outside. Just a few metal chairs and tables. No indoor seating. That being said, food is fantastic and service is always good.“
“This place is a hidden gem. The food was so so so good. We ordered honey walnut prawns, mandarin sweet and spicy chicken, and mixed vegetables. The honey walnut prawns were perfectly lightly fried and the sauce was excellent. So often other places bread the prawns so thickly which is a mistake. The sauce for the chicken was so well balanced, spicy, tart and just a tad sweet. The mixed vegetables were also perfectly flavored and cooked.“
“Tried this place for the first time tonight. Ordered a dinner plate which includes chow mein, choice of white or fried rice and an entire. I selected general chicken which was crispy, sauced and well seasoned. Also ordered salt and pepper shrimp. These we lightly breaded and fried with great flavor. Eggrolls were a good size and nice filling. We have lived in the area for a couple years and I wish we had tried them sooner.“
“This place really surprised me! It was very rainy when I dined, so it was a little on the quiet side. I was seated immediately and had my order taken within minutes. The food came out promptly - and it was amazing. Fresh - veggies still crispy, rice still fluffy, nice cook on the beef and chicken in our dishes. Flavor on point, no complaints or critique there. The staff was friendly and the chef & server are a cute little couple.Looks are deceiving! I didn’t think I’d be happy looking from the outside - but the food and kindness of the people won me over.Vegetarian options: Ample vegetarian options available!Parking: Parking on side of the building. Easy access, plenty of spaces“
“This is my first time trying the location on Natomas Boulevard, Chang's Chinese cuisine. It was very tasty and freshly made to order. I ordered honey sesame shrimp, broccoli chicken, orange chicken wings, chow mein and fried rice. Everything was so yummy! I will certainly be back and will make this my go-to place for authentic Chinese. Very friendly service. You can only take out no dine in so I can't say much about the ambiance.“
“Little gem tucked between Auto Parts store and Radial Tire hath restored my faith in Chinese takeout after years of disappointment across the greater Sacramento area watching the go to spots of old close or change hands convincing newer generations that bamboo eating bears somehow serve up decent authentic Chinese Food. Thank you sister for the recommendation thank you Cathay for not disappointing. Ordered Mongolian beef combo , crab cheese wonton for good measure. Large portions, fresh ingredients, veggies w snap, tender meats, not super greasy, not oily, proper seasoning, deliciously sauced , just damn good tasty Chinese food easy on the wallet and tummy. That's my experience yours may differ, I most definitely will be adding Cathay into the rotation.“
“First time trying Green Jade Restaurant and absolutely loved it. My husband and I are vegetarian, so we were happy to see they have a large vegetarian menu. We tried several dishes and they were all full of flavor. The staff were super friendly. The restaurant is comfortable. Decent price. Definitely recommend.“
“This place reminds me of the restaurants in Chinatown in San Francisco. Mom & Pop serving up good food. The chow mien and fried rice had minimal soy sauce and great flavor with a little char. Looking forward to their entrees. Must try!“
“First time ordering from here and was for delivery. I ordered fried Szechuan tofu and egg drop soup. Both were incredibly good. A note to some - when eating out I expect it will have more sodium than I use at home and for a Chinese restaurant that’s Dine-in service I didn’t have expectations of fancy take-out packaging just like all others don’t have of a similar type. I’m prepared to plate it when arrives - careful while handling it as needed. That said, the soup container was very solid. However, I’ve ordered a similar meal in other places and this is the best and even slightly customizable, unlike some others. So, of course, I added my favorite - broccoli- to it (other options there but I only cared for the vegetarian stuff for that order). I hope I can make it down there in person sometime.“
“Customer service is great! They’re so nice and friendly. The locals love them and they show love right back. I’ve been addicted to the salt and pepper jalapeño chicken wings. They’re so delicious. I can’t even eat wings anywhere else right now. Love this place and they deserve all the greatness and support in the world <3.“
