“I didn't expect to find any Sichuan food here in Rocklin, but it was a welcome surprise.
The portions are generous and you get your money's worth. It's placed in a cozy spot right near the Studio Movie Grill. so this is a prime date night spot for anyone in the area.
They have a secret menu with all the things you could wish for, especially if spicy Sichuan food is something you wish to try or are craving.
I ordered the combination fried rice, Chongqing Spicy Chicken, and the Pork Intestines with hot chillies. The Pork Intestines are well seasoned with cumin and coriander which do away with any of the smell that typically comes with eating offals. The Chongqing Chicken is wonderfully done and the chilies were fried perfectly. I'm gonna make sure to order it spicier next time hahaha, but that's my personal taste. The waitress that took my order said to let her know if it's too spicy, so this place definitely has a familial environment to it. Definitely a place worth frequenting.“

“My first time at Joy House. I really liked the filling and thin crispy wrapping of the spring rolls, but thought that they were too oily and preferred if they could have skipped the red coloring in the sweet and sour sauce. Again, the filling was fantastic and very authentic. The beef in the beef chow fun was really tasty and tender, but the noodles were also too oily for my taste. The service was great and the cook was very accomodating. 5+ stars for service. Really great and hard working folks. I will give them another try sometime soon again.“

“Sonora location. Tried when first opened and few weeks ago. It was clean (new) and great service. Re-visited yesterday and totally the opposite! Counter was dirty, all food was low. It was 4 o’clock and not busy. The cook, other gentleman and waitress was very unprofessional and unsanitary! The cook, yes while wearing gloves, continued to touch dirty services and our food. At one point he had his cell phone in his hand looking at it while cooking our food. Phone back in dirty pocket, touching his hair then back to cooking our food! The conversation between the three of them were load and unprofessional. I was so ready to leave! Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.“

“We order Catering for all our staff once a month and the deliever the best food always. The restaurant is owned by our owners cousion, so I always had a thought that due to the owners influence we get some extra ordinary food for catering. But then I went in with my Family on one of Friday night to check the rstaurant and it was much more better when we ordered the food for Dine in. Those Sizzling Platters were just Amazing. “I got the famous orange chicken and it was really good. They also had a delicious fresh brewed tropical tea. Service was fast, the food was fresh, and it was very tasty. I hadn't been to a Panda Express in years, but I'm glad I went to this one.“

“Panda Express was fantastic! The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful—I had the Orange Chicken and Beijing Beef with fried rice, and everything hit the mark. Portions were generous, and the service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well-stocked, even during the lunch rush. Definitely one of the best fast-casual spots for a satisfying meal!“

“Yummy food, good prices and portions. It's the only Asian food that my husband, with a MSG allergy doesn't have a problem with even though other places tell us there is no MSG in their food.
We particularly love their egg rolls, chowmein, hot & sour soup and pork with green beans.“

“This is my 2nd time here and it’s the absolute best place to eat. Before I had chicken vegetables and recently vegetables and tofu. I mostly eat vegetables and they offer a good portion of vegetables without skimping like so many other restaurants do. Not Bok choy. They work hard and are very attentive to their customers. Nothing but praise for this place.“

“This is now my go to sit down Chinese food restaurant. Staff is kind, welcoming and helpful. Prices are reasonable considering portion sizes (always 2 meals for me) and most importantly their food is delicious. Their General Tsao chicken is the best I have experienced.“

“A fine Chinese restaurant for me!
Serving an authentic and excellent food, specially dumplings and noodles!
You can also watch how they make those fresh shu-mai/wonton.
The place is in demand when we get there one Friday night, so, go on line for table reservations in advance so you won’t wait for 30 to 60 mins as we experienced for the first time. But the food is worth waiting for!“

Taking these yummy leftovers home gives us something to look forward to the next day.
I must say, in this area, we've yet to find anything that compares to these two dishes. Addictive!“

“First time visiting Loomis Chinese Restaurant and I was overly impressed with the customer service and food quality. Some of the most delicious crispy chicken, fried rice and chow mein I have had in years. Also, the soup that came with my lunch special was incredible! I've been searching high and low for good, flavorful Chinese and finally found my new favorite spot! Fair prices and a comfortable atmosphere. Will be returning and recommending to friends and family! A+!!!“

“My first visit here. I enjoyed the vermicelli with chicken dish was nicely prepared and came with a serving of their sauce mixture. I thought it was very good and the chicken had a nice flavor and was not dried out. I nearly did not go in because the storefront was blackened and was a bit surprised when the door opened.“

“Drove by this place for years and finally tried it out. Got a lunch special and the price was very good for soup, egg roll, chow mein, shrimp, tea.
Food was great. Portions big--typical of Chinese food. Value can't get any better than $14 for everything I listed above.“

“They have great food my favorite beef and black bean chow fun, the peaking spare ribs and general chicken. It's hard to find beef black bean chow fun at other places. I have been going to highland Chinese for 13 years and the food is still good. I have tried many other places and I just can't find one that I like as much as highland Chinese. For a little hole in the wall restaurant it is very good.“

“I ordered their Cashew nut chicken from the lunch special. It had lots a veggies and the chicken had a nice flavor and was not chewy like at some other places. It came with a wonton but no sauce. The wonton was not crunchy and not very good. The fried rice was cooked well and tasty. The portion for lunch was good. I wish it was a little less greasy.“

“Our first visit to Red Lantern Solaire North was a pleasant surprise. Though the branch is smaller, the service remained consistent and warm—just as we’ve always known it. The food was exceptional as ever, with the beef served in a box so tender it almost melted in the mouth. The hot prawn salad and mango roll were standouts, while the kataifi—a dessert that Red Lantern has uniquely served for nearly a decade—remains unmatched. It was a wonderful family meal, reaffirming why Red Lantern will always be our go-to place for celebrations and special moments. PS. They also have Chinese Tea presentation and the 1000 mask dance.“

“This is my new favorite Asian restaurant it’s far from home but so worth the drive. From the decor to service to the amazing food…. I can’t say how refreshing it is to be able to eat clean healthy Asian cuisine. The owner is Bill and I’ve met him twice now. He’s passionate about his restaurants, yes I said restaurants plural. He let me know there’s one in Eldorado Hills and Folsom as well as this one I’m reviewing in Citrus Heights on Sunrise. It’s beautiful, clean, and the food is so very delicious! Highly recommend and give it 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Catered food from the restaurant.. able to pick up on time.was told to pay in cash.
Mint/ cilantro chutney for mixed vegetable pakora was frothy and like rasam..very watery. Pakoras were more like onion than mixed vegetables. Starter paneer dish was almost charred..chicken drum sticks were also a little overdone. Chicken curry was great, but was packed in a single half tray and was not double packed..hence was messy to deal with. Naans were not packed right, hence very soggy.“

“I haven't eaten in the restaurant but it's been regularly full every time we've picked up our food. They're tucked in a not too busy shopping center and probably our favorite establishment there.
The food is amazing; fresh, crunchy, I think they're pretty much made to order. We've been getting takeout from them for the last couple of years and they haven't disappointed us. Thankfully they're pretty close so it's been a no brainer when we have a craving for Chinese food.
We regularly get the green bean chicken, Mongolian beef, and the hot and sour soup.
I hope they continue doing well and keep on making their delicious dishes.“

“This place exceeded all my expectations! The service was impeccable—our server was personable, efficient, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The food was flavorful and fresh, with standout dishes like the spicy Szechuan shrimp and the fluffy steamed buns. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a beautifully designed interior that blends modern touches with classic Chinese elements. The entire experience, from the friendly service to the fantastic food and charming atmosphere, made it one of the best Chinese meals I’ve had in a long time.“

“It was busy at 530, but not overwhelming. Unfortunately our server wanted to turn and burn us. Soup came before drinks and was not hot. Sent back for more heat and asked if we might enjoy our drinks for a minute. She indicated that she had already put in our entrees...sorry! Too bad for us I guess.“

“After coming here for over 20 years, I owe them a review. When I think of Chinese food, this is the restaurant I think of. It’s nostalgia, my family brought me here when I was a kid. As a teen, I’d drive here on Friday nights to pick up dinner. I moved away after high school, but any time I come back to visit family, I want to come here. When I’m at home, I crave this as I have to eat the lesser Chinese near me!
The orange chicken is THE orange chicken for me. It’s super crunchy, perfectly breaded, and the chicken is long and thin which helps it cook better. The sauce is perfection. Never have I ever found an orange chicken at multiple similar Chinese restaurants that has even come close. The walnut shrimp, cream cheese wontons, and won ton soup are also favorites of my family. Even the white rice is my ideal perfect white rice. I’m getting hungry now.
The same people have always worked there, they do their job well but they aren’t always the friendliest, at times. I’m there for the food. Order take out or stop in for 40 minutes, you’ll go home full and happy.“

“The service is very good and polite. In my opinion, the prices are higher than expected for this type of food, service, or atmosphere. I suspect the location contributes to the pricing. Lots of meat on top of the patties. It's under new management and still same good food.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Red Hot Chilli Pepper in Folsom, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Snehal, the manager, has truly worked wonders in creating a unique and vibrant dining experience. What sets this place apart is not just its Indo Chinese cuisine but also the warm and inviting atmosphere that permeates the entire establishment. Being the only Indo Chinese restaurant in the Sacramento area, Red Hot Chilli Pepper has carved a niche for itself, and I must say, it's a niche well worth exploring. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a welcoming vibe that instantly made me feel at home. One standout aspect of my visit was the impeccable service provided by Praveen, an exceptional waiter who went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. His fast and friendly service added to the overall positive impression of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food--a true highlight of my visit. I started with the TROPICAL "LYCHEE" MARTINI, a delightful concoction that blended the sweetness of lychee with the kick of vodka. It set the perfect tone for the culinary journey that followed. The Chilli Chicken, ordered at medium spice level, was an absolute winner. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices, it left my taste buds dancing with joy. Following that, I indulged in some vegetarian momos that were a burst of flavor and texture. The softness of the momo paired with the delicious filling made it a memorable dish. The Calcutta Chicken transported me straight to the streets of Calcutta. The authenticity of the dish was unparalleled, and I appreciated the chef's dedication to preserving traditional flavors. To wrap up my meal, I opted for the detox tea--a refreshing and healthy choice that perfectly concluded the culinary journey. The attention to detail in both food and beverages truly sets Red Hot Chilli Pepper apart. The ambiance of the restaurant is another noteworthy aspect. It's evident that careful thought has gone into creating an atmosphere that complements the dining experience. The result is an ambiance that enhances the joy of savoring each dish. In conclusion, my experience at Red Hot Chilli Pepper was nothing short of fantastic. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to indulge in more of their delectable offerings. Kudos to Snehal, Praveen, and the entire team for creating a culinary haven in Folsom!“

“Went in Sunday (10/12/25) for lunch after leaving another local Chinese establishment that wanted to charge $13 for a small bowl of hot-n-sour soup and no rice came with entrees.
The Sunny Garden was great. The orange chicken was crisp and fresh, and the chow mein was excellent. The string beans were crisp and not overcooked. We got out of there for less than half of the other place and were very pleased (full).
I found a new favorite Chinese restaurant for when I'm in Folsom. Thank you Summer Garden for the excellent food.“

“This is really a hidden gem, best dumplings I’ve had in a long time. All dumplings are made by hand and are very delicious. Seeing is believing, and I saw the lady making the dumplings. I ordered wonton soup, which was very tasty. My wife ordered steamed dumplings that was delicious, and I ordered the fried dumplings. My wife also ordered Ube steamed buns 😁. The pickled cucumbers wasn’t spicy, but was flavorful. ( I can’t eat a lot of spicy foods) every once in awhile is ok. I took home my fried dumplings some of my wife’s steamed dumplings and the pickled cucumbers for an add on for our evening meal. From where I was sitting I could see Folsom Dam. Traveling 10 miles for some delicious dumpling was worth the distance.“
