“Hands down the best Mazesoba in town! Firm warm noodles with eggs that enhances texture. Topped with their special tan-tan style sauce and finished with chives, green onions, ginger and all that good stuff. Super friendly and attentive staff although I personally prefer getting it to go thanks to the speedy service. An interesting menu item is their signature Mazesoba but mixed in with curry sauce. You would think the curry would overpower the noodles but the taste still stands strong and shines through the curry to form something incredibly unique. Definitely worth trying if you're ever nearby.“
“Probably the best place I've tried sushi. Large portions and excellent prices. As a fairly big guy, I was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't finish two regular plates. The service is top-notch. My best wishes to this establishment“
“I have lived 5 minutes away from this ramen shop since mid-2022. And it wasn't until an idyllic PTO-fueled Monday afternoon that I bothered to check this place out. In my 5 years living in SoCal, I've tried countless ramen shops and they all were great and stand out in one way or another. I've baptized ramen as “The only soup worth eating” and this shop further proves the veracity, authenticity and validity of that statement. The broth is rich, the pork chasu is cooked to perfection, the thin noodles have the right amount of chew and the gyoza is flavorful. Nothing that you could not find at any other competent ramen shop, such as Hiro Nori, but this is located at the heart of Old Pasadena, the locale gives it a boost from 4 stars to 5 stars. I do wish they also offered Tsukemen, though.“
“Awesome place to get some great tasting ramen! The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff extremely friendly and of course, the food tasted great. We had the veggie king ramen with an egg add on and spice level 3. Very good. I would definitely add a higher spice next time I go. They have a cool custom menu that you fill out while waiting in line to stream line the process. Big fan of the organization! Highly recommend.“
“I had lunch here today and I had a wonderful experience. The ramen and Gyoza were delicious. The service was great and the place was very clean. The owner came over just to say hello and offered me a complimentary green tea. The prices were also good.“
“We came here on a Tuesday night looking for a quick but savory meal. It was busy but there were some seats open. casual place. The food came out quite quickly, and as a whole it was very good. We got chicken kaarage, which was a good portion for its price. The accompanying spicy mayo was unexpectedly quite nice. boy got the blaze, which he really liked. I got the classic ramen, which was flavorful and not too salty. The noodles were cooked very well, and the broth warmed me nicely. I have came here before craving the tsukemen, and it is for the most part quite good but always ends up tasting very salty by the end. will probably still come back and order it again though.“
“Came here on a whim while running errands in the area. The portions here are HUGE. I ordered three specialty rolls - tempura Cali, hungry man, and the spider roll. The server said “It’s a lot of food, are you sure?” And I was like “Pffft. Challenge accepted. I haven’t eaten today.”DUDE. She was not kidding! As soon as I saw the first roll come out I knew I was in trouble. I think I still made a sizable dent (about half of each roll), but as you can see, the to go box is still packed full anyway. The service was fast and my server was very sweet. If you’re looking for large portions at a reasonable price point, this is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back, but maybe I’ll bring backup lolP. S. Pace yourself. I forgot how much rice expands when it’s in your stomach. I’m so full!!!“
“When thinking of soup in the Pasadena area we have our favorite places. Last Friday evening we tried this fairly new Ramen place that has been open about two years. When walking in we were greeted and seated quickly. The place was not so busy for a Friday evening but later more customers did arrive which is a good sign. We were seated and the menu was simple and prices were in the range of other soup restaurants in the area. We got our water and tea quickly and the servers kept our water glasses full. Very attentive staff. My wife ordered the gyoza and the Tonkatsu ramen and I had the Shoyu Ramen. Food was delicious and if you don't like your food too salty, get the more creamier Tonkatsu Ramen. My Shoyu ramen had spinach which was surprisingly delicious. The food portions looked small but once we started eating they were very hearty portions. I was not able to finish my noodles. We will definitely be back as they also have Mazesoba here which is dry noodles with egg. Can't wait to try these dishes.“
“We got the veggie ramen but changed out the broth for pork bone broth for a small fee and added an egg. It was great! ?Vegetarian options: Veggie ramen, tempura pumpkin, edamame, spring rollsParking: Located in a strip mall with lots of parking“
“I used to eat here often when I worked in Alhambra. I was in the area and decided to eat dinner with my daughter here. The ramen was just as good as I remember. I have recommended this restaurant to many friends over the years and I'm happy the quality of their food is still very good!I wish I could've met Akiko and her mom to complete my trip down memory lane.“
“Best ramen and pork rice was delicious ? at a reasonable price. Not like other spots charge over $20 and poor taste. Will be going back and will recommend to friends and family. Glad i found this spot because I was driving to Pasadena for the same soup. Customer service was the best too. Not greedy with hot sauce like other places too.“
“I came here with my family on a Sunday evening. It's a sit down restaurant but not overly formal. The food here is delicious. I had the chicken karaage bowl that had great flavor and texture. The udon noodles and soup base were delicious as well. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.“
“So I have ordered Takeout & Dined In before countless times due to the food and customer service being absolutely AMAZING & DELICIOUS! Each time I order, I'm never disappointed by the quality of the food. Also, packaging for takeout is perfect it never spills! I love this Ramen spot a lot and noticed I never wrote a review so it was time to do so. <3“
“I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and placed a large order. One of the items ordered was the chicken teriyaki bento box. Everything item on the plate was freshly made and delicious. There were 4 pieces of tempura veggies and 4 pieces of California roll. The chicken teriyaki bowls were just as fresh and contained an ample amount of chicken and rice. The owner was kind and gracious and friendly. An additional plus for that. This is a great place to go for sushi. The California rooll and the spicy tuna roll we ordered we delicious. I look forward to my next visit so that I can try the ramen. Hope you all give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.“
“I was brought to this restaurant by a close family member and it's one of the best ramen places I've been to. I loved their ramen bowl serving and the Naruto ambiance. I can definitely see myself going back to this place again. I ordered the Naruto Chasu “
“I've never really had Ramen before, but I am officially a fan after coming here. The service was on point the same lady was assisting all four tables with complete ease. She was refilling everyone's water asking if we needed anything. She was on top of all of it even answering the phone and just from hearing other people telling her that they enjoy the meals I know it's not just me saying it. I think it's safe to say everyone in there had a great meal tonight. The restaurant itself is not too big. There is about six or seven tables in there with several chairs to each table and comfy couches to sit on. It's not the biggest restaurant but it's perfect the way it is all of the Naruto decor was pretty cool to see too. I love how they had pictures up and drawings up. It just made it feel more homelike and I appreciate that vibe. I ordered the udon noodles in my Ramen because I prefer the thicker noodles and was not disappointed at all super yummy. Super tasty. Lots of flavor packed into the bowl. Nothing was overpowering as a perfect amount of flavor. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my time tonight.“
“Wanted to let everybody know Sushi in the Box's new location is in the Ranch 99 Market on Golden West in arcadia. They are now located in the food court in the far right hand corner all the way in the back. Their food is excellent and their service is very friendly always served with a smile.“
“I has the salmon truffle bowl and everything that came with it was fresh and delicious! They were even nice enough to give me a small sample of the truffle salmon to try before I ordered to make sure I liked it! Service was great and food was amazing...I will be going back to try the Ramen!“
“Solid ramen spot in South Pasadena, great, attentive, chill service on a stormof a Sunday, served food nearly after I placed my order, reasonable prices for portions given, generous on your chashu pork & kimchi for kimchi ramen, appreciate they saved me from overeating & just took the small portion of food I wasn’t able to finish. Broth & noodles were warm with good texture on the noodles. Didn’t even ask for a tip, pleasant surprise beyond the meal before I took off. Ambiance is definitely relaxed and they maintain a clean restroom if you need to use it of course. -would give business again“
“Been to the one in sawtelle before but it was my first time at this location -- the food was great as always. Loved the spicy tonkotsu ramen I had. The sides were available as an add on at $2.50 each. There wasn't too much of a wait as groups come and go fairly quickly. The service was friendly and the Japanese music gave the place a nice vibe.“
“Super bowls ?? delicious ?? good foodVegetarian options: I just didn't feel like gettingMeat productsthat day but they have different dishes with chicken and meat & fish ?Parking: Plenty ?Kid-friendliness: Very nice attending waitress ?Wheelchair accessibility: Is very accessible to wheelchair.“
“Pretty good and different options for noodles and noodle soup. Plaza it's in is also nice and has parking. However, the combos are sorta expensive and no longer allow you to choose the appetizer. And the biang biang noodles themselves don't come with meat. But still tasty“
“It wasn't my first time trying a live oyster, but there was still an element of surprise.Perhaps it's the Japanese style, the sauce seemed different and incredibly appetizing!Their selection of sushi rolls is extensive, and you won't need to read any reviews to decide. Each one is delicious!Don't forget to try the eel rice!!“
“First time eating here; very impressed. Service was friendly and prompt. I had Kimchi Ramen, which was as spicy as promised. The pork was cooked perfectly, IMO - tender, and so tasty. The Kimchi was also good, and that spicy broth was just what I was looking for. My husband had Veggie Ramen with Kale Noodles. He liked it a lot. The broth was miso based (being appropriate for Vegans), which he liked, and he preferred the texture of the kale noodles to my regular flour noodles. It was supposed to come with raw tofu, but unfortunately that was accidentally left out. Mentioned it to the super nice person who helped us, and she deducted $2 from our bill. He should have said something immediately, but forgot it should've had tofu, until he saw the bill. Overall an excellent experience.“
“Delicious ramen spot with really good deals! Been seeing this spot on Yelp for a minute and finally was able to come here a few times now. Service and staff here are really nice and the food comes out pretty quick. I like this spot for ramen because they have good combo deal with a Tonkotsu ramen + side + 1 drink for around $17.50 to $18ish. Totally worth it! The restaurant is cool and the decor is awesome. Definitely come through and try this ramen spot out if you're near El Monte. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Thanks Tonkotsu House Ramen!“
“The hype on social media was extraordinary, so I invited my friends from the local college to grab a bite. And here is how it went. (1.) They have a rule that the whole party has to be there to be seated. (2.) They serve drinks in a to-go cup, so be ready to get up asap. And (3.) Tip is already included: Does not matter what size group you have, two or three, you are still tipping. All in all , I would say don't believe social media but believe the food is still really good. A simple broth with an explosion of flavor. I would suggest getting garlic on the side (freshly grated). And don't get anything else. My friend did not like the flavorless chicken teriyaki bowl.. so stick to what they are known for.“
“Great ramen, great service and nice Japanese style atmosphere. Got the spicy vegan sesame ramen; could have been a bit spicier but i also didnt ask for a spice adjustment. Strong sesame taste with a slight miso taste as well. Overall good ramen, and their fried veggie spring rolls were delicious.“
“Conveniently located on the corner of E Green St & N Oak Knoll, this place is not hard to find. It was buzzing with activity when we went. If you're lucky you'll find parking right out on the curb in front of the locale. If not, there's parking just a few steps away behind a couple of buildings. Once you're checked in they seat you as soon as possible. They have a fair amount of employees whom are tirelessly working like busy little ants, in order to keep things flowing in a consistent manner. As far as the food goes, their appetizer choices are plenty. Their drinks are priced well. And their sushi is fresh and delicious. I didn't take any pictures of the food this time out as I usually do, but I will my next time out. If you like sushi and you haven't visited this place yet. Do yourself a favor and go.WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! GO!!!!!“
“My only suggestion is update the drinks, they are not good the sake piña colada was not good and I tried my bf lemonade and wasn’t good in opinion and I saw in the back you guys use the powdered country time lemonade. Ewww I don’t want to waste 3-6 bucks on nasty drinks, I will drink water next time. The seating could be better to more cozy less like I’m in science class“
“Awesome sushi place!!?I live the vibe and decoration in the restaurant ???I went with my friends and their family. The staff are very nice and the food tastes great! They have a lot of variety, including udon options! Good place to hang out with friends and is definitely a great place for family time (>^ω^<)“
“Generous portions and a scrumptious ramen dinner, our family was impressed by the food and service here. Ika and gyozas were a great side.Do ask for the house made chili oil paste: it rocks!Kid-friendliness: Our 8 and 11 year old loved how friendly the service was! Great treats!“
“I was a little hesitant to come based on mixed reviews but glad I did. Had a delicious take out meal for under $30. The only thing I didn't like was the meat, the pork slice in my shoyu ramen was too thick and tough for me. Otherwise the broth and egg were wonderful, I tried the spicy tuna with crispy rice appetizer and it did not disappoint. Iced matcha tea complimented the food perfectly with no need for sweetener. The food was a bit American-ized, but had great flavor. Can't wait to try the pork bun next time.“
“Korean, not Japanese. That being said, had "spicy" miso ramen and "Jumbo" scallop sushi. Not so spicy, but otherwise spot on! The scallops weren't jumbo size, but if the rice would have had a little more vinegar...it might have been as good tasting as I ever had ( the yuzu kosho was a big factor) ; bar none. I have eaten my fair share, mostly in Japan.Parking: Smart and final across the corner?“
“Love the butter corn chicken ramen ?They have more broth variations than typical ramen places, and a vegetarian option too. Prices are affordable, foods are flavorful, definitely worth to check it out if you are looking for a wholesome warm meal! Plenty of parking spots, strategic locations for a quick lunch break“
“Great place for sushi & ramen ? it is delicious, they have variety, atmosphere is a vibe, good customer service (served at table), tables have dividers for privacy, you can collect signatures for a free Cali roll, bathroom is clean and smells good, lots of parking & wheelchair access. My 4 year old and I love it & we come often, would recommend 10/10Parking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Yes, I come often with my 4 year oldWheelchair accessibility: Yes “
“I have not been in this location. For quite a while. Last time was like 4years ago I think. The place was crowded then. Had to wait to be seated. Ordered the usual lunch special. Bbq pork and corn ramen and a side of fried tofu. The ramen as usual was delicious. The broth was not too salty, just right. However, the fried tofu was not tasty at all. Not as tasty as the one in colima rd branch.Overall it was still great. The waiter was really nice. Was there Dec 20 at 12:46 pm. So whoever was that tall waiter. He was nice. Definitely recommend everyone to tru the place.“
“Very small parking lot but lots of street parking. I had a short wait during lunch time on a weekend. The staff are super nice and food comes out very fast Nanchatte tonkatsu ramen: milky creamy and flavor broth. It's very comforting especially on a cold day. Ramen noodles are cooked just right. Deep fried stuffed soft shell crab: a nice appetizer. The outside is very crispy and it appears to be stuffed with imitation crab meat. Omelet rice with pork cutlet and curry sauce: the portion is very large. It was very delicious. Curry sauce is nice and sweet. The pork cutlet is nice and crispy, the meat is juicy. I would definitely get this again and it would be two meals. Definitely stop by when you're craving some comfort Japanese food! The menu is very large and there is a lot to try.“
“First time stopping in this gem. We saw a long line outside and decided to try it out. We waited 5mins max to be seated and they took our order right alway. They have reasonable prices for ramen and delicious skewers. We didn't like where we were seated so we asked to move and kindly enough they moved us where we were coOverall the food way amazing I will come again. And the service and energy were great. Love it here can't wait to go back.“
“They were really nice, they refilled my water and brought out my food quickly. The seats were comfy and their ramen broth was hot, smooth and rich. The Takoyaki was perfect, it had ginger, fishflakes, octopus and mayo. Their Chasiu bowl was sweet salty and savory I liked the sauce and tenderness of meat.“
“This place is amazing! Their food is delicious, incredibly beautiful and of the highest quality I have found on a sushi restaurant. The assorted sushi dishes are out of this world. Each piece is superior to the one before, to the point that there's almost a moment of sadness when the plate is finally empty. I would recommend this place, without any hesitation whatsoever, to the most demanding palates and sushi lovers.Oh! And to all vegans, please, pleaaaase try the King Mushroom Steak. I can't even begin to tell you how many exquisite flavors will appear and disappear in your mouth with every bite.“
“Though the food here is good. The service is terrible. One time I went for lunch, sat down and had to weight 10 minutes to be offered a menu and drink. Then when I asked for a place setting because there wasn't one, instead of apologizing and taking care of it, I was told to go get one from another table. Tonight I went again sat down and waited again for 10 minutes with no one coming over to ask me anything or give a menu. I finally walked out and will not be going back. There are plenty of other ramen restaurants in the area that I can spend my money at this one is done“
“My favorite ramen spot. Being able to customize your bowl is definitely the reason I come here. Thin noodles are far superior. If you are looking for something spicy to add to your bowl get the green chili butter bomb! So much flavor and spice If you want chili only for flavor (not spicy) get the red chili oil. I like to come here and eat alone with AirPods , the staff is great at getting me my order and then leaving me alone which I love.“
