“Loved this place! The ramen was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the yakitori was perfectly grilled with a nice smoky flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The atmosphere was cozy, the service was friendly, and you can really tell they care about the quality of the food. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!“

“Their Tan Tan Men Ramen are the best! I love how I have the opportunity to customize our ground meat choices (I.e. ground pork or ground chicken). Topped with nori, baby bok choy, bean sprouts, hard-boiled egg, and ground meat, the ramen have the perfect flavor. Their chicken karaage were the best too!“

“Cool place. We sat at a table that looked like it was framed in a sake bottle. Plenty of parking. The ramen broth was tasty. Had a lemonade and at half sweetness was perfectly sweet. Lots a food and drink choices. The desserts looked really good, but I was too full. Can't wait to come back and try something else.“

“This is a really good sushi spot in a food court. The tempura, sushi, and bento boxes reminds of the old Sushi on Garfield takeout restaurant in Monterey Park (now permanently closed) before the owner changed its menu, but Sushi In The Box has many more choices.“

“Always wondered about this restaurant as there's always a line outside the establishment. My wife and I were seated with our friend group pretty quickly, a nice perk to the staff that handed out menus to choose your order to improve efficiency.
I love that the ramen is very customizable, from the amount of salt, oil richness, ingredients mix, sauce, and even noodle style. (Thin/Thick) There's moderate seating inside, some for large groups, duos, and some wall seats as well. It definitely has the vibes for a ramen shop, lights are a bit dimmer inside which highlights the kitchen staff (open kitchen). working on orders.
My wife and I both ordered the Original King Ramen and shared some appetizer (Chicken Karaage) with our group.
Orders came out pretty quickly and the portions are pretty decent size, a bit deceiving I'd say for the size of the bowl you receive.
1. The ramen is very flavorful, can't go wrong with either thin or thick noodles. In my opinion, the chashu is a must because it mixes the broth flavor with the meat, creating the savory flavoring, super yummy. A little side note is that the ramen is priced nicely, however the extra add-ons can accumulate in total.
2. The Chicken Karaage is a classic must try, Japanese styled fried chicken, super crispy coating, very flavorful meat, and bite size. The karaage is marinated very well & comes with some lemons for that sweet flavor if preferred. Highly recommend.
Overall, Ramen Nagi has very delicious ramen and is very much affordable. Huge plus for the ramen being very customizable & even has chefs recommendations for first timers. Only downside is that the shop is not super big, and long lines but it moves moderately fast if you don't mind waiting a bit.“

“Their popcorn chicken ramen is delicious.
Silky pork broth, the heat from the chilli and the hot chicken is going to make you sweat. If you say spicy, it's going to be spicy!!!
Love this place. Especially on a rainy day (which here, aren't many 😐).“

“Solid ramen, sushi and other dishes. Good portions as well. Service was efficient though a bit impersonal...but as long as my water is getting refilled before having to ask, etc. I can do without friendliness. I'm 99% positive my mom and I had been to the Montrose location a few years back and had a very positive experience as well. Definitely would go back to either location. We went on Saturday of Mother's Day weekend for a later lunch with a group of 6 and there was no wait.“

“Didn't get the ramen but got the beef and spicy pork rice bowls. Both were absolutely on point, especially with a bit of their in-house Chili Paste. Good portion as well.
Skip the small chiasiu bowl tho, pretty mid.
Service was attentive and friendly!“

“Ordered the tsukeman ramen, jiro ramen, and karaage. Food came out great. Staff was very attentive and happy to help with the menu and explain anything we don't know. They suggested I add a dashi broth to my dipping sauce after I'm done with the noodle. Great recommendation.“

“Literally the best Japanese Curry House in all of the United States. Doesn't cost a fortune, service is amazing, it's Japanese-American but you feel like you're getting the same service you would get in Japan and a kitchen staff are very attentive and communicative. I had no idea this was here literally my whole adult life and now I go weekly.“

“It's pretty dark and loud inside during dinner. Even during the day, it can be loud and you have to speak up to hear across the table. Food is tasty but can come out show during lunch or dinner rush. I like their pass around family style rolls meal option for ordering. It does it a little pricey, but I think the portion and fish-to-rice ratio is great. Definitely take advantage of the happy hour deals!“

“It was a great time me and my friend Eric ate some amazing food I loved your pork buns and your immediate response to our needs. We had no idea it was a card only restaurant but out of your kindness you let us pay with cash and gave us 0.4 cents off . Thank you for the great experience!“

“This is a very cozy spot to grab a good meal. It’s not fancy or over the top, but that’s honestly part of its charm. It feels like a small local Japanese place where the focus is simply on serving good, comforting food.
The staff were very kind as well. It happened to be raining when we arrived, and they were nice enough to let us come in a little earlier than opening, which we really appreciated.
I ordered the pork cutlet with curry and the portion was very generous — definitely satisfying and full of flavor. The only small hiccup was that my Diet Coke was forgotten at first, so I had to ask again, but they brought it out shortly after.
Overall, it was a really pleasant experience. If you’re looking for a casual place with tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere, this spot is definitely worth checking out. The price per person is also very reasonable for the portion sizes you get.“

“Great Japanese izakaya in West Covina. The sashimi was very fresh and cut surprisingly thick. We also enjoyed the Wagyu dishes, especially the Wagyu Donburi and Steak Bites. The Cumin Black Snapper was unique and unlike anything I’ve had at a Japanese restaurant before. Nice atmosphere, good presentation, and a great spot for sharing dishes with friends.“

“I’ve been back a few times since my last visit, and I have to say they are much better after the rebranding. The tsukemen is just as good, if not better than before, and the prices are way more affordable now.
I always ask for my tsukemen broth to be extra hot, and it hits every time. Big shoutout to Cici and Michael as well. They helped us out the other night and were awesome.
Service has been smoother, the quality is consistent, and overall it feels like they’ve really stepped it up. I’ll definitely be back again soon.“

“Surprisingly bountiful and delicious.
The style is from Lanzhou, China. Particularly in the Gansu Province, where once the Silk Road ran along the only major city through which the Yellow River runs. Traditional hand-pulled noodles with a variety of offerings and flavors. A favorite is their house special, Beef Noodle. This differs from other Chinese variations with a clear type of broth and choice of spice levels offered here. There is also a focus on Halal meats.
Lamb is also a regional favorite; if you choose this, you should be pleasantly surprised.
There are also a number of side dishes of vegetables, Beef Rolls, and a most lovely order of steamed dumplings.
The service is good with their limited staff at times. There are many take-away orders, which is often a sign that there are more customers who appear. Parking is plentiful in this shopping plaza, making this a great choice to catch a movie and a nice meal.“

“The noodles were of nice quality. My friend got the normal firmness and thought they were a little too soft, and I got the firm noodles and thought they were perfect. The broth had a nice, rich taste though nothing mind blowing. The pork slices were good although they were only 2 slices and thin. The ramen itself is great, just wish there was more pork for the given meal.
The appetizers were just okay. Pretty standard takoyaki and karaage with nothing mind-blowing, but still decent.
The severs were attentive, kind, friendly, and did a great job at creating anauthentic and welcoming atmosphere. Much praise to the staff.“

“We stumbled upon this spot for ramen and were pleasantly surprised! The portions are great. They give you plenty of broth, and the ramen itself is really tasty. We shared the ramen and some takoyaki (which were decent), and it was more than enough for the two of us. It’s definitely tucked away in the middle of nowhere, so you really have to be looking for it to find it, but it's worth the trip if you’re craving a good bowl! 😅“

“A friend recommended Menya Hanabi to me, and this was my first time trying mazesoba, which is basically brothless ramen.
I ordered the Deluxe Mazesoba, which comes with chashu and a hard-boiled egg. I really liked the deluxe version because it felt more filling and had a good amount of protein from the minced pork, chashu, and poached egg. The bowl had a lot of flavor, and I ended up finishing the whole thing, so I didn't even get a chance to try the free scoop of rice at the end.
The mazesoba was a bit on the salty side, but it wasn't something that bothered me. The seaweed and fish powder added extra depth and helped give the bowl more variety, while the green onions added a nice texture and freshness.
I came on a Wednesday night and didn't have to wait at all, which was a plus. Overall, I enjoyed my first mazesoba experience here and could definitely see myself coming back whenever I'm in the area.“
