“Fantastic dim sum and noodles. I got the classics, such as siu mai and xiao long bao, and a bowl of mapo tofu. The tofu was szechuan style, so it was full of that delicious numbing flavor. The food was served quickly and service was so friendly. I will definitely be back when im in the area.“

“Okay, of you pulled this up I hope it's because you are trying to decide if you should go here. Let's start with the obvious, this is a nondescript strip center convenience store. There isn't much to indicate this is a restaurant. Service at the counter is prompt and friendly. This is to-go only. There are no seating options whatsoever. The menu is pretty simple with the Chinese classics we've come to expect. There are no combo meals or plates. Each item comes served as plate to share family style. Keep an eye out, there are no prices on the menus. An order of rice, an order of eggrolls, an order of broccoli beef and an order of sesame chicken were $75!!! Let's cut to the chase. How was the food? The rice was a big plate of dark brown rice, no peas and carrots, which is how I prefer it, there was a little onion, but the flavor was all there and it was excellent! The eggrolls are extraordinary. The order is 4 and they are massive, batter dipped and fried until golden and crispy and they are easily some of the beat eggrolls I've ever had. The beef and broccoli was exactly what it should be. The beef was tender, the broccoli was not overcooked, the sauce was flavorful. It was very good. The sesame chicken was fried perfectly crisp and stood up to the flavorful sauce. It's wasn't overly spicy. It was some of the best sesame chicken I've ever had. So while the atmosphere wasn't great and the prices were steep, the flavor and the quality was absolutely present in every dish I got here. This is definitely one of those hidden spots that only neighborhood people know about, but definitely worth checking out.“

“This place is amazing! The food is fresh and so delicious, the broths were very flavorful. You pick from different tiers. Each tier has a variety of foods for your hotpot and appetizers to choose from. We rented out a karaoke room for my birthday and it enhanced our experience even more! Having a private room with friends and a hotpot table created an unforgettable time. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Drinks are also included with your meals along with a condiments bar and rice station. 10/10 recommend and I will for sure be revisiting. (Blurred video for privacy of friends)“

“No-frills, fast-casual spot serving the best guilin rice noodles in this part of town. Most of the patrons were Chinese.
There’s a self-service bar of pickles, chilies and crispy toppings for your bowl of noodles or rice. Their specialty is the Guilin Rice noodles, which comes with sliced pork and crispy pork belly. It’s a delicious combinations of flavors and textures.
The ladies working behind the counter are very sweet and friendly. Mandarin and English speaking.
BONUS: no tipping here! You can eat well for around $16 and serving sizes are pretty generous.“

“This place is yummy! You pick a bowl full of ingredients, and then they cook it for you as a soup (think Ramen style) or a stir fry. You pay by weight, so you control how much you eat. It's quite delicious, and the staff are very nice!“

“Best place ever. The owners are amazing. My 2 year old son was having a tantrum and crying outside the store and the sweet lady came out with a little rice treat and gave it to him and he calmed down and said thank you. Please please please support this little treasured business.“

“Honestly a hidden gem that we discovered a week ago. Been back already with a bigger group and it was just as good. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in sac at this point. Their duck has amazing flavor and crispy skin, the house noodles tastes fresh with a great texture and the salt baked chicken is great too with the ginger scallion sauce. They have a few really good off menu dishes too that we all enjoyed. The staff is incredibly sweet and attentive and the place is clean and comfortable. We will be back soon with more family and friends.“

“Kiwi juice with Boba is so good my favorite.
For some reason I thought this was the same as lollicup lol but this is the restaurant side. Never been here before, the lady that answered the phone when I called didn’t really want to help but I understand because I didn’t know exactly what was the name of the soup I was looking for ( my niece recommended) but expected that in person she would be more friendly but she was in the middle ( nice but rude at the same time) but I have to be honest the soup I got it was number A16 was not good for my taste and my honest opinion, had no flavor, I expected more , will I come again? Yeah maybe , and maybe try something different .“

“I thought my first visit was just a lucky hit — everything was perfect. But after coming back again and again, it’s undeniable: this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had.
Every dish has its own distinct flavor, exactly the way it should. And the temperature? Always piping hot — from the tea to the entrées — every single time.
Consistently delicious, served hot, and absolutely worth the wait.“

“The food here tastes authentic and delicious! The flavors are rich and well-balanced, just like the original taste from home. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience very pleasant. Definitely one of the best places for Guilin rice noodles in the area.“

“This is one of those “hole in the wall” spots with really great food and decent prices you don’t wanna miss! We stopped here on a whim, and walked in to a completely empty unassuming place where they had an s Warriors game on TV (which we loved as Dub heads lol) and sat down. We ordered honey walnut shrimp (YUM) and a variety of other dishes that were really, really great! We walked out full with enough food for dinner both of us and lunch for him the next day 😂 Definitely going back - I keep thinking about that honey walnut shrimp and the pork fried rice!“

“This is my spot when I want dimsum. Place is clean, food comes out quick, and the portions are decent. Only complaint is they charge $2 per person for tea but you just get one pot for the table. Would be nice if they made it free. Other than that, no issues.“

“I been coming here for years. I love ordering from the Lunch Specials Monday through Saturday 11:00AM to 3:00PM. I love #1 Sweet & Sour pork served with Pork Fried Rice & Pork Chow Mein. I always order to go the Chow Fun- Chicken Chow Fun-"Dry" so good. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Tell a friend a co-worker and family this one of the best restaurant's to go too ❤️ 👍“

“We attended on an unassuming Saturday evening in December. We noticed that no music plays, but that was pleasant to me. Not much of the restaurant was filled up, as it seems takeout and food courier services are frequent. However, we were greeted quickly and friendlily.
It took maybe 5 minutes to order and a proper few more to receive our food. However, we did receive it all at the same time, for which I grateful.
The pork chow mein was appreciatively lacking in sugar; however, one member of the party remarked that it was a tad salty for them. We enjoyed a very solid and well-portioned mandarin chicken (with baby corn).
Finally, we tried the shrimp-stuffed fried tofu, which I must recommend to anyone willing to try something. It is silk tofu (very soft) with a mince shrimp ball placed on top, all fried and coated in a light, savory sauce. There were 8 pieces in the portion, and I could have eaten them all myself. I will likely come back for this.“

“Highland Chinese is my FAVORITE place in all of Sacramento and Placer County to get Chinese food. The service is always great and the food is consistently incredible. My personal favorite is the Braised Tofu and Vegetable Chow Mein but a popular one among my family is the Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles. Egg drop soup is perfect for cold weather days or sick days. Really everything there is good and you can't go wrong“

“Love this place. Been going since early 90s. Moved to North Carolina back in 2001 and yes I shipped C for four to north carolina. Worth every penny. Coming back to Sac this week for vacation. Always a place I go when visiting. In the south everybody talks about soul food. It's good and all but this is truly my soul food.“

“Best Sichuan food I've had in Sacramento! And the portion sizes are super generous as well so you never feel stiffed.
The Sichuan boiled fish was delicious and the fish fillet was tender and numerous. The green beans are some of the best I've had, with amazing flavor and crunchy despite being out of season. Genuinely green beans are the hardest veggie to stir fry so if they got that down, everything else should be locked down too.
The new owners definitely fixed all the issues with the previous“

“I was thinking the serving and the number of dumplings were not a lot considering it was only $11 but I was wrong! There were actualIy 10 dumplings on it. I was not able to finish it so I had to take it home. It could be good for two persons as long as you’re not that hungry.“

“First their food (pork fried rice, Peking ribs, spring roll) were delicious and generous. The price is very reasonable at $42 . They were very busy with dining and many to go orders. My complaint is they brought the rolls and rice out together, 10-15 later they brought ribs out but by then our rice was cold. The only offer was to warm rice in micro.“

“Absolutely wonderful. This was our second time here. First time we got the beef clay pot rice and really loved the beef but thought the rice was a bit oily (though I know clay pot rice itself does need a lot of oil). This time we passed here on our way back from snowboarding at Tahoe. I got the beef rice noodles and my gosh, the brisket is chewy and the tendon just melts in the mouth, the flavor is just unbeatable in the US. The rice noodles are so light, healthy, and soothing for my stomach for dinner. We also got the pork steamed rice roll and beef congee, both of which are as authentic as possible. 没法形容,只能说对于留子来说吃完真的回国了❤️ I really hope the owner will open a store in the Bay Area!!!
P.s.: the only complaint is that both times, the service is a bit slow, maybe because we don’t speak Cantonese but mandarin, but the food is well worth the wait.“

“This place is legit Taishanese / Cantonese food.
Got the mushroom steak, hand pulled chicken, the garlic clam, and the yellow eel clay pot rice.
The seafood is fresh, the meat is of food quality and well seasoned, the clay pot eel rice is good. I'm not much for chicken, but the chicken person liked it.“

“I gave 4 stars because it’s my first time trying this restaurant due to me moving in this area and the service was very pleasant.. I love that they still put the food in boxes to go.. it gives nostalgia. The restaurant could use some lighting and maybe more of an inviting atmosphere but that’s not a huge issue at all! I will be ordering again.“

“We have been eating at SG for maybe 40 years. We like Orange Chicken and Lemon Chicken, the Won Ton soup is great and they have eggplant that's the draw for us. The prices are great and the service is great. The atmosphere is better than many more expensive restaurants.“

“Food was amazing! The portions are bigger than they appear in the pictures, which is rare to get more food than you would assume. It has been a very long time since I received customer service that great! The lady there went above and beyond and was soo nice! Only down side is parking in the area is not ideal, but that has nothing to do with the restaurant itself.
Please try this place you will love it!“

“The Egg Foo Young was amazing!! Big, fluffy, flavorful egg patties with bean sprouts and green onion, perfectly cooked. The accompanying sauce was delicious with carrot, zucchini, broccoli, onion, mushroom, bok choy, and celery. Also loved the Katsu chicken. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Generous portions, reasonably priced. Also must give a shout out to the wait staff. Pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. Recommend.“

“First time coming to this place, I’m so glad that they opened in Sacramento as I’m always craving for some Chinese local food such as skewers and spicy food 🥘. Price is reasonable to me that they currently have discount for students and those who shared the their promotion flyer on social media. Must try: lamb / pork belly with mushrooms/ oyster/ pancakes/ rice noodles and dumplings 🥟. Will come back soon:) good luck on your new business 🤗“

“I think they have the best chow mein in town. And they make really good hamburgers (and perfect fries) for less than any of our local chain store/fast food places.Their broccoli beef is super yummy too. So to their fried rice. I haven't tried much else from their extensive menu but I suppose I should because I like all their food that I have tried. I am also very sensitive to MSG and have never ever gotten a headache after eating their food; and I react quickly and painfully to even a trace of that stuff in my food.
This is a take-out location. There is no seating for eating there, but they are fast with any order. Call your order in and it'll be ready when you get there.“

“Why do the serve spaghetti at a Chinese restaurant? It taste good though. Smothered in cheese. I think the sauce is sweet and sour sauce. Happy hour drinks take forever to prepare and service needs work. Minus one star. Try the giant pork leg too.“

“Extremely surprised how clean, comfortable, new this place is for a spot in Sacramento. Definitely a vibe here, Cantonese influenced, food is delicious and tasty as would expect from a Cantonese establishment. They play Cantonese and mandarin songs which also makes it feel like you’re in Hong Kong eating/ dining. This plus they got karaoke rooms, pretty awesome concept! ??“

“Sonora location. Tried when first opened and few weeks ago. It was clean (new) and great service. Re-visited yesterday and totally the opposite! Counter was dirty, all food was low. It was 4 o’clock and not busy. The cook, other gentleman and waitress was very unprofessional and unsanitary! The cook, yes while wearing gloves, continued to touch dirty services and our food. At one point he had his cell phone in his hand looking at it while cooking our food. Phone back in dirty pocket, touching his hair then back to cooking our food! The conversation between the three of them were load and unprofessional. I was so ready to leave! Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.“

“We were traveling to Lake Tahoe. We passed through Sacramento and ate Asian food called Yum Cha Cafe (on the right side of the Shunfa SF Supermarket on 65th Street. We ate their roast duck, barbecued pork buns, shrimp balls, and barbecue. , fried noodles, siomai, their roast duck is so famous and really delicious. Very good seasoning, very fresh, plump and elastic meat. This is the most valuable roast duck in this area. I only had it in Hong Kong last time. I'm so happy today. I tasted such a good taste again. My family and I are very happy. I recommend it to everyone. You must try it. It's incredible.“

“Beback rating- yeah
I used to work around this area a few years ago. On one occasion I decided to try their food. I was not disappointed with their shrimp fried rice the most and have visited them a few more times.
Today I was I. The area for another reason. Their sign said open from 10am till 9pm. Well, the owner pops in a little past 11am. Not good normally, but I do remember two older people running the place. So, a little grace was needed. Plus, knowing my past experiences with their food., I didn’t get irritated. Yes, this is truly a mom and pop kinda place!
I’m glad I was patient as the fried rice was savory as usual, one of the best around town. This is one of those places where you get rewarded for not judging a book by its cover.“

“Excellent quality and flavor. We ordered Siu mai, steamed pork and soup dumplings, but the real stars were the shrimp and pea shoot dumplings. I was definitely surprised about this location at a ghost kitchen and food pick up spot located in the north downtown area. “Having moved from Sacramento 18 years ago, it had been too long since dining at Frank Fat’s. Impeccable service started with the hostesses at the front door and continued at our booth in the back. With many savory appetizers to start, my family made the wise choice to order with the Combination Platter - four servings of several of the best appetizers. Entrees are served family style allowing everyone at the table to enjoy each dish that is ordered. My favorite was the Honey Walnut Prawns, perfectly cooked prawns with a nice crunch. The Hunan Chicken Chow Mein with crunchy noodles was a table favorite, as was the Mixed Vegetables Chicken. Our server was Luis who provided attentive table service throughout our delightful meal.“
