“The yurt experience is really special”

“They really have their service down. The staff was extremely attentive in an unobtrusive way, on top of being personable. Truly no notes on the service. The dining room atmosphere was decent. My only complaint is the bathroom location makes it feel disjointed from the restaurant (totally nitpicking there). I heard they are trying to get a michelin star, given the price point, and that the dishes were for the most part tweaked/elevated versions of classic dishes, I don't think the food was quite consistently excellent enough to get there. I think they are reasonably close. The crab pasta course was overwhemed a bit by the red pepper sauce it was a touch too acidic which competed with the flavor of the crab. the cheese desert seemed a little simplistic, and they weren't interesting enough to make up for the simplicity. The tuna carpaccio, while very tastey and well balance flavorwise, didn't highlight the tuna which was lightly seared, muting the flavor, and making it not feel like a tuna carpaccio dish. The duck was well cooked, but all the seasoning was in the sauce making it you you had to get the ratio of duck to sauce right for the seasoning to work. Ideally it would have been more evenly distributed. I think they could also use a little work on portion size. The carpaccio, and rissoto were a bit too big.
All of these details are very nitpicky, and we had a very nice evening, but if they want to get to that next level, I think these details need more attention.”

“Delis usually have to be cheaper. But this place is expensive. The food was good though, but you can share if you eat less, don't have to buy more. This city doesn't have any chain restaurants nearby so I think this place will be cheaper than other fine dines.”

“Rombauer allows you to reserve a table for wine by the glass or bottle, and they even welcome outside food for a picnic-style experience at their garden tables. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and make the whole experience feel extra special.

My partner and I visited on my 30th birthday. We couldn’t sit outside because of the rain, but the team set up a lovely table for me inside, complete with a big birthday balloon. Thank you for making my birthday so special!”

We had cheese platters as well, and James went out of his way to create our little own wine pairing with bites from the platter. The whole experience was amazing, and we really enjoyed the wines. “We had a lovely time visiting the Schweiger winery! We had a great tasting outside on the terrace with a beautiful view over the estate. Wendy was a great host, answering all our (many) questions and told us all about the history of the winery and the vines as well as Napa Valley (as it was our first time). We love Andy Schweigers style - especially for his Cabernet Sauvignon and „Dedication“ edition - he’s putting his own spin on the wines!

It was a busy Friday evening, but the manager found us a place to sit at the bar within about 10 minutes, and apologized for the wait (which was totally unnecessary). I had the surf and turf daily special and my wife had the filet medallions. We shared the butterscotch pudding for dessert, which I would highly recommend. The staff was attentive and the kitchen cooked our steaks to perfection. Highly recommend eating here if you’re in St. Helena”

He took time to answer all our questions, gave a phenomenal tour, and was incredibly knowledgeable for our tasting. “I recently had a great experience at Duckhorn Winery. I’m not much of a wine drinker myself, but my wife is, so I usually tag along to tastings. We booked the “Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting” online, and when we arrived, we were greeted by the beautiful setting — a charming house surrounded by lush greenery.

We were met by Miguel, our wine specialist, who made the whole experience truly enjoyable. He was easygoing, knowledgeable, and made someone like me, who knows very little about wine, feel completely at ease. Miguel not only paired the wines with food perfectly but also shared the history and origins of each bottle, making it feel like we were taking a journey through Napa Valley.

He even gave us some excellent recommendations for local restaurants, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, Duckhorn Winery offers beautiful scenery, excellent wine, and exceptional customer service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Napa!”

“We let them know we were coming up to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted with "Happy Anniversary " and then when we were seated and handed menus, we saw that we had special menus that said "Happy Anniversary " on them. We were given complementary rose sparkling wine. We were treated like royalty and the food was outstanding as always. It is unfortunate that they will be closing at the end of December. We love Goose and Gander!”
