“The yurt experience is really special”

“They really have their service down. The staff was extremely attentive in an unobtrusive way, on top of being personable. Truly no notes on the service. The dining room atmosphere was decent. My only complaint is the bathroom location makes it feel disjointed from the restaurant (totally nitpicking there). I heard they are trying to get a michelin star, given the price point, and that the dishes were for the most part tweaked/elevated versions of classic dishes, I don't think the food was quite consistently excellent enough to get there. I think they are reasonably close. The crab pasta course was overwhemed a bit by the red pepper sauce it was a touch too acidic which competed with the flavor of the crab. the cheese desert seemed a little simplistic, and they weren't interesting enough to make up for the simplicity. The tuna carpaccio, while very tastey and well balance flavorwise, didn't highlight the tuna which was lightly seared, muting the flavor, and making it not feel like a tuna carpaccio dish. The duck was well cooked, but all the seasoning was in the sauce making it you you had to get the ratio of duck to sauce right for the seasoning to work. Ideally it would have been more evenly distributed. I think they could also use a little work on portion size. The carpaccio, and rissoto were a bit too big.
All of these details are very nitpicky, and we had a very nice evening, but if they want to get to that next level, I think these details need more attention.”

“Rombauer allows you to reserve a table for wine by the glass or bottle, and they even welcome outside food for a picnic-style experience at their garden tables. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and make the whole experience feel extra special.

My partner and I visited on my 30th birthday. We couldn’t sit outside because of the rain, but the team set up a lovely table for me inside, complete with a big birthday balloon. Thank you for making my birthday so special!”

“Ambiance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Booked about a month in advance, and the experience was absolutely worth it. A beautiful winery surrounded by vineyards, with a fully open-air courtyard. We can even walk downstairs to see the vines up close. When it came to the tasting, the server walked us through each wine with a map, explaining the vineyard location and vintage in detail. As someone who doesn’t know much about wine, I was surprised that I could actually follow along — and found it genuinely interesting.

Did the four-wine tasting. The most memorable for me were:
• 2019 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
This one felt very balanced and approachable. Smooth, not overwhelming, and easy to enjoy even without knowing much about wine..
• 2019 Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Clearly the standout. More layered and elegant,it just tastes… more refined.

What really clicked for me was tasting the wines in order from lower to higher price — suddenly it made sense why the more expensive ones are considered better😁.

I’m not really into crowded, hype-driven places. I know Opus One is iconic and always busy, but this winery felt much more low-key and intimate. Beautiful setting, thoughtful service, and a truly hidden gem kind of experience. I really loved it and would happily come back.”

“We had a lovely time visiting the Schweiger winery! We had a great tasting outside on the terrace with a beautiful view over the estate. Wendy was a great host, answering all our (many) questions and told us all about the history of the winery and the vines as well as Napa Valley (as it was our first time). We love Andy Schweigers style - especially for his Cabernet Sauvignon and „Dedication“ edition - he’s putting his own spin on the wines!

“We love Guillermo at Reverie II! If you’re looking for the best deep red wine you’ve ever tasted, you have come to the right place. This was our second visit to the property and it was even more beautiful than we remembered. The Cabernet Franc was a personal favorite – we had to take some home with us

I joined the two bottle club but I order more. The Petite Syrah is excellent and a go to for me. The Royal Escort and Noble Companion are my favorites! I have shared those poets with friends who love them.

It was a busy Friday evening, but the manager found us a place to sit at the bar within about 10 minutes, and apologized for the wait (which was totally unnecessary). I had the surf and turf daily special and my wife had the filet medallions. We shared the butterscotch pudding for dessert, which I would highly recommend. On this trip we had the pleasure to stay in the guest house which was perfect. Additionally, Heather did an amazing job of connecting us with other vineyards and restaurant recommendations. John hosted us for our tasting and he is extremely knowledgeable about wines. It was great speaking to him about his experiences in the wine industry and his personal wine collection. “We let them know we were coming up to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted with "Happy Anniversary " and then when we were seated and handed menus, we saw that we had special menus that said "Happy Anniversary " on them. We were given complementary rose sparkling wine. We were treated like royalty and the food was outstanding as always. It is unfortunate that they will be closing at the end of December. We love Goose and Gander!”

The food was fantastic and we all had a great time. What we ate: Hamburgers, Crab Louie salad, mixed salads and salmon.
