“I met the owner of this place while doing rideshare. At the end of the trip he said, “Since you got me home safely, come by my sandwich shop and I’ll have my people hook you up.”
His staff was just as friendly as he was, and the sandwich tasted even better than I expected.
My recommendation: turkey and salami with lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a toasted French roll with garlic sauce only.
The taste isn’t something to die for, it’s something to live and stay alive for.

“I had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day with a couple of friends. Our main plan was to attend the Sam Smith concert, so we stopped in for some pre-concert bites. The staff was incredibly accommodating, especially considering how busy Valentine's Day is for the restaurant industry. I always appreciate when servers help with recommendations, and our waitress was extremely helpful, suggesting delicious options even as we kept our meal light (we didn't want to be in a food coma during the concert!). “I'm a long time customer of this Heroic so this review is way overdue but I just had a really nice experience yesterday and thought it was time to share what I think of this little gem. The food is so good (sandwiches, the calabrian shrimp, the meatballs, and their gluten free pizza to name a few of my faves) but the customer service that you get from David (the owner of Heroic) makes it exceptional. I find that it's rare anymore in the restaurant industry to get the level of customer service you get from him. He is so kind and so accommodating. You can tell that he truly genuinely cares what your experience is. Customer experience like this makes repeat customer in itself. Doesn't hurt that his food is DELISH as well.“

The food is amazing— favorites include the arugula and fennel salad, spaghetti with clams, eggplant side dish with balsamic and the incredible homemade tiramisu! But you can’t go wrong with anything. Try the pecorini wine or the mushrooms. This small spot is cozy and welcoming and the owner is the best. I am only in the city every few months but this spot makes it into my rotation each visit!“

Went with a group of 6 and had no problem grabbing a table on a Saturday night. The service was quick, food was hot and fresh, and vibe was warm. Nothing flashy, but gets the job done.

The chicken marsala was really good, especially with the shaved Brussels sprouts and carrot — unusual, but delicious. The spaghetti con polpette is one of their signature dishes, and the meatballs are massive and filling.

My one recommendation would be to consider sharing the pastas - of the 4 people at our table who ordered pastas, none could finish them. The portions are huge!“

“Vittorio and his team catered our wedding reception in January 2026. We had about 100 guests and buffet style dinner. We had to change the date last minute due to the sudden loss of a family member.

He and his team also handled all of the linens, passed out appetizers, cleared tables and filled water glasses, etc.

I cannot praise Vittorio and his team enough! Everyone loved the food and many went back for multiple servings. His team was kind and attentive in their service. Vittorio was so easy to work with, was very flexible with us changing the date or number of guests. He prepared us an incredible tasting at his restaurant so we were confident about the food.

The price point for the quality of food was also fantastic and way more affordable than most of my friends’ caterers for their weddings.

“I would like to share my disappointing experience at this restaurant last night regarding the reservation process and customer service.
Before arriving, we called the restaurant to make a reservation. The staff member who answered told us to make a reservation through Yelp. I explained that Yelp was not allowing us to book, which was the reason we called directly. She then told us that she would put us in the system and that our table would be ready in about 20 minutes, which worked perfectly for our drive to the restaurant.
However, when we arrived and informed the hostess that we had a reservation, she immediately told us that the restaurant does not take reservations and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. I even showed her the sms confirmation from my phone.This was very confusing and frustrating because we had just spoken with someone who confirmed our reservation over the phone.
As a result, we arrived expecting a table to be ready, only to find out that no reservation existed. We were dining with a child, so the unexpected wait made the situation even more difficult.
I understand that restaurants can be busy, but clear and consistent communication is very important. If reservations are not accepted, this should have been communicated honestly during the phone call. The conflicting information made us feel misled and disappointed with the service experience.
I hope management can review this situation with the staff to prevent similar misunderstandings for future guests.“

“Hidden gem on 24th st. I ordered the spaghetti and my bf the Ragu and Caesar. Everything was delicious and hearty. When he took a bite he immediately said that it was really good and tasted like homemade comfort food and he was right. The servers are nice and attentive!

“Charming restaurant inside a former bank.
I tried 3 course fixed price lunch for $24.

Starter is choice between house salad or soup of the day, an entree and dessert. There were 5-6 choices for entree including a vegetarian and seafood option. Dessert was choice of gelato or chocolate mousse

Everything was tasty and we got fresh bread while our food was being prepared. Normally I would say $24 is expensive for lunch but given the inflation as of late I thought this was reasonable given ambiance and quality of food. I probably should have saved 1/2 my entree so I could have enjoyed the mousse more. It was delicious but could only get a few bites in as I was so full by the time dessert came out.

You can order off the menu if 3course meal is not your preference. Pizza is only offered at dinner fyi.“
