“Had a work brunch at Madi in Pacific Beach today, and it was a hit with all six of us. It wasn’t busy when we arrived, though I’ve heard it gets packed on weekends. Parking was straightforward with a small lot and plenty of paid street spots nearby.
Dakotah took great care of us. She handled our group’s quirky requests with total composure, checked in at all the right times, and even sent a couple of coworkers off with to-go refills.
The food was outstanding. One of my coworkers ordered the Poke Bowl Surf Shack, and it looked as good as it tasted — bright, fresh ingredients piled around a scoop of rice and a side of spicy mayo. Another went for the Surfer Breakfast Burrito, which came with black beans and a choice of salsas. I had the Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger with bacon, served with crispy fries and a cold Mexican Coke. Everything at the table landed well.
Coffee was excellent, too. They also add a 5% hospitality fee to the bill, which seems to be a growing trend in San Diego.
Overall, a great spot for brunch with friendly service, good vibes, and food that delivers. I’d happily come back.“

“I noticed the last 5 star review highlighted all the healthy stuff Molly’s has to offer. I’m sure it’s all really great and stuff, but I would like to talk about the UNHEALTHY stuff. It was extremely good.
Let’s start with the one that fills my life with regret. Molly’s makes a drink called a banana bread chai. Oh. My. God. This beverage would make an atheist believe in God and the devil, because it provides strong evidence that God loves us and wants to be happy… while at the same time wondering if someone put something in front of you that mortals should not be able to enjoy. My regret comes from the fact that I passed Molly’s Pastries for the last four days and could have stopped in, but did not. What a waste of four perfectly good mornings.
My cinnamon roll had a ridiculously thick and creamy frosting. Although I personally prefer a cinnamon roll that is so gooey scientists may describe it as a non-Newtonian fluid, I really liked the doughy interior after breaking through the gentle crust. The frosting itself was so good that I could happily eat a tub of it by itself. Would order again.
I tried a bite of my wife’s ham and cheese croissant. It was so buttery, I could feel my arteries clogging up. However, it was light and flaky enough that I am certain that I won’t experience the gut rot common in bad greasy spoon breakfasts.
Fortunately, we plan to go to La Jolla later today to walk around and counteract some of the potentially bulgy side effects, but I can tell you this: before I get on a plane to go back home, I’m going to get another banana bread chai. Some things might be worth risking diabetes. That chai is one of them. Thank you, Molly’s!“

“My favorite healthy breakfast cafe in San Diego! It was so good, we came here twice on our 6 day trip. The food was so fresh and healthy and made me feel good. I got a cinnamon cortado with oatmilk and it was genuinely better than the fancy lattes I got from 2 other actual coffee shops. We loved the protein pancakes and the avocado toast with salmon added was amazing. They have so many good things to try, I can’t wait to come back some day!“

“We were looking for a relaxed happy hour spot near where we live on a weekend and stumbled upon this gem on Adam Avenue. The area has some cute shops nearby and wasn't overly crowded, which was perfect. The weather was beautiful, so we grabbed a table outside and settled in right as happy hour started at 3 pm.
We both ordered cocktails and were genuinely impressed. They were well-balanced, flavorful, and exactly what we wanted. For food, we stuck to the happy hour menu and tried the wings, sliders, and the potato cake with short ribs. Everything was solid, but the potato cake was the clear standout for me. The outside was perfectly crispy, and the short ribs on top were tender.
We also ordered the crepe cake with short ribs from the regular menu (not happy hour pricing, but still very reasonable). I’d never tried anything like it before, and it blew me away. The creamy sauce was rich and packed with flavor. I’d highly recommend it.
Our waiter was a super nice guy who checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. Great service all around.
If you’re in the area and want good drinks, tasty bites, and a chill outdoor vibe, this place is worth checking out. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Handsdown one of the best brunch spots I’ve been (and I go to A LOT) delicious food, amazing coffee and extremely efficient and friendly service. Highly highly recommend. (We had the French toast, the goat sandwich and the goat pancakes + waffle sticks. All amazing. The latte’s and ube matcha were amazing as well)“
