Starbucks in San Diego

“As someone who has never really order anything caffeine before, I was given a recommendation to order a certain drink. I finally made the trip and got a Grande Mocca Cookie Frap. In truth, the first time I did so was at another Starbucks, and it had too much ice, so I decided to try again. It was an explosion in my mouth in terms of flavor and taste. I am in my early 20s, and yet it took me this look to realize just how much I was missing.“

“This is my first time to this location and 1000% will be back. The staff were so nice, greeted everyone who came in and just made it a super welcoming atmosphere- I think that’s huge since Starbucks is a chain and normally you don’t get the same vibe you’d get from a smaller mom & pop coffee shop. But they are doing great here!“

“Located in a somewhat hidden plaza, it's still popular with many people walking here on weekdays. The staff makes the drink pretty fast. The building structure is somewhat old but the decorations inside are pretty warming. The wall is decorated with photos from local dogs, they are cute and make me feel grateful. There is also an outside dining area, which might be great on a sunny day.“

“This location has such a cool vibe at breakfast time, lots of people coming by. There’s a really nice outdoor patio seating area, the big fountain is wonderful. I ordered my usual, the egg pesto + mozzarella breakfast sandwich and iced matcha latte. Both were absolutely delicious, as always. Great neighborhood, nice atmosphere and location.

Vegetarian options: I love love LOVE Starbucks’ new egg, pesto & mozzarella breakfast sandwich! Fabulous vegetarian option“

“As a business in the same plaza as Starbucks, we are so happy to see them move into a bigger space. The new location is beautiful and the staff is efficient. Now with the drive-through, they are insanely busy, but still keep a very calm atmosphere and all are very accommodating. Especially Johnny thank you!“

“I go here all the time, they are usually busy every morning during the weekdays as it is in a business and commercial area. Weekends are cool because it is very quiet and I will bring my kids for a mini date. The employees are always great and the coffee is always good. Service is very quick through the drive through as well. Also recommended the potato and chives egg bites from any Starbucks, something about them are very good!“

“Starbucks has really great coffee. The atmosphere is ok for a coffee shop and the service is ok. They're always too busy to be friendly.

Dietary restrictions: Food options are limited and can be a good dietary choice. Convenient if you're on the run.“

“I’ve been to several Starbucks and this one is one of my favorites to go to! Super friendly baristas and customer service is amazing! They also get your drinks out really fast so if you’re in a hurry no need to worry! Also I’ve never had a problem with how my drinks are made.“

“What a great place this is! 2 of my friends and I went in for a couple of teas. Ryan and Jung served us and we had our drinks and left. I got home and thought I lost my phone so I called them and I talked to Ryan and asked if if he would check across the way because we had just eaten at Natsumi Seafood Buffet prior to going to their Starbucks and omg how sweet was he. Ryan checked at Natsuma and along with Jung they searched for my phone,it wasnt there I found it in my kitchen. One of my friends had also left her purse and phone there and even though they were closed,they took the extra time to help us out! My friend has her purse and phone now! So all in all,great service and amazingly wonderful employees! Ryan and Jung ( not sure how to spell his name,perhaps Young. )But either way these 2 guys are getting our business again and we will be leaving them a really nice tip to show our appreciation for their kindness! “The staff couldn’t be friendlier. They actually appear to enjoy working here. The space is beautiful with a wall that opens to the street so lots of fresh air. I was eating there so they gave me my drink in an actual glass instead of plastic.“

“I asked for a surprise hot coffee. The guy with the beanie was legendary. The drink i got and service was amazing. Super happy with how it turned out. I would have never thought of ordering a drink like this. It was delicious haha only downside i still dont know what the drink even was. Definitely recommend this.“

“I don’t normally go to Starbucks but I was in dire need for caffeine as I’m running on exactly 1 hour and 45(ish) minutes of sleep. I dragged my corpse to the counter and the cashier was so incredibly pleasant and friendly it really made my morning so much better. I believe their name was Amiee? She took my vague and likely inconvenient word soup of an order and turned it into a delicious coffee creation. I am so grateful for the patience and kindness that I received. Thank you for making my morning not suck. Round 2 was just as good! I was a normal human this time and they still left a cute note on my cup! What a lovely bunch they are!!!“

“I like this store but my one complaint is the fact that in the bathrooms when you press down on the water in sink it keeps running…. Even when I try to pull knob up it doesn’t stop. It’s very wasteful and unsustainable. I’m not sure how long the water keeps running but when I brought it up to barista she said that it was normal and would turn off eventually. Which I understand but would be great if someone could fix this! Thanks:)“

“After years of consistently frustrating experiences at other Starbucks locations — rude service, missing items, annoyed attitudes — this store was a breath of fresh air.

Today was my first visit here, and it couldn’t have gone smoother. I placed a mobile order with my usual requests (including a venti ice water listed in my last name), and everything was ready, correct, and handed to me with a welcoming attitude. No eye rolls, no sighs, no weird energy — just friendly, professional service the way it should always be.

It might seem basic, but sadly, this level of normal, positive customer service is rare at Starbucks these days. Huge shoutout to the team here for actually caring about the customer experience. I’ll absolutely be coming back to this location — finally found a Starbucks that gets it.“

“My go to starbucks but I like it more before. Now you can't pickup your order in store most of the time. My Macha taste better before as well. Parking is difficult to find , if you're new to this branch you mind get confused about the drive thru entrance too.“

“I thought this location had a drive thru after passing the building a few times. It appears to but does not. With small kids I prefer a drive thru so I don't have to unpack everyone to pick up a coffee but overall the staff were nice and the coffee was good. Would be more enjoyable if you can go sit and enjoy the outdoors without kids ?

Parking: There is a large lot with a lot of spots. Should be no problem finding parking here.“

“It’s been a long time since I walked into a Starbucks and actually felt like someone behind the counter wanted to be there. Cass, the cashier, was super cool — friendly, chill, and full of great recommendations (yes, even those off-the-menu ones 😉). Sometimes you just need that one person to turn your whole coffee run into a vibe.

“I've dropped by this Starbucks a few times and am always struck by how warm and welcoming the staff are. Food and drink is good and consistent as it goes with Starbucks, but it's the service at this location that really makes me want to go out of my way to leave a review. “Not only are the food and drinks here delicious, but the "cherry on top" are the people and their quality service that they provide. This is definitely my go-to coffee spot. I love coming here to start my day.

Vegetarian options: They have about three delicious vegetarian options that I personally love switching through when I pick my food option.“

“The music is always too loud so you have to shout over it to order. It’s not a surprise to all the complaints about messed up orders. They’re constantly repeating our orders to us with a question mark. And who chooses the playlist? I’d rather sit in a silent atmosphere so I can talk with my company instead of trying to make out every other word that’s being drowned out by not only the blenders, but the crappy music.“

“We bought coffee but it was to strong I had to go up 2 times to fix the coffee but the music was good. The bathrom was a little messy needs to be cleaned more than one time a day.

Parking: There is disabled parking here.

Kid-friendliness: There are meals that have eggs, veggies, peanut butter sandwiches with fruit. There are different breakfast sanwiches.

Wheelchair accessibility: The parking places outside for wheelchairs and there are places inside this restaurant for wheelchairs to be put up to tables.“

“The food and drink here are comparable to any other Starbucks. The hours are odd, parking is a little tough and I don’t believe they have their own restroom. Other than that, customer service is great. They give out your order in a timely manner.“

“This is the best Starbucks there is. There are regulars at the coffee bar and the staff knows their customers, providing a local breakfast club atmosphere that you would just not expect. It's a real positive community vibe going on here.“

“This is a phone/app order pick-up only location. They only have a counter with a place to hold drink orders. No person to take orders, no place to sit, just pick-up. We didn’t know this and placed our order via the app while we were there and it worked out just great.“

“Usually short or no lines. There’s a 15 minute parking space in the lot just for this StarBucks. You can order/pay for your drink and pick it up on your way out after shopping (quick trip that is).Sometimes (not often) there’s not an employee there but if you ask someone from Vons, they will send a message over the PA system.“

“It's Starbucks. They are mostly the same, good service, good drinks. Their food isn't great and they have lost a lot of selection, which means there is little selection.

The most important thing to me then is the location's space. It's pretty large, enough for a bit of study or work.“

“I go to the Starbucks everyday. On one occasion the supervisor was helping me, he took my order and then I bought a drink for someone I just met at my Dr office. Unfortunately the person tried to steal a protein bar. The shift supervisor saw this and politely asked if he was going to pay for it or if I was. I was really impressed with the way he handled things. Short brown hair tan skin and I believe his name started with a G. I thought you handled the situation perfectly and you haven't been in retail for over 25 years if I were his supervisor I would have been very proud. He made search romaine courteous and kind but also not allowing someone to walk out with products they did not pay for he didn't even insinuate he was trying to steal the item. If corporate is reading this this man deserves a raise or at least recognition that he knows how to do his job effectively and efficiently without being offensive but helping Starbucks not have as much LP issues.“

“I have to recognize the entire staff at this Mission Valley Starbucks. I get my coffee and croissant every morning and they truly are a joy to see. They not only our associates of Starbucks but had become my friends they are kind sweet courteous and never get my coffee wrong.“

“Nice quiet place, met with a business women from Ryder Truck Rental And Leasing. The Starbucks was quiet with low playing background music so We didn't have to talk loudly to be able to hear each other, and it was a good place to talk nobody was too worried about what we were doing so it was semi private.“

The only (small) thing I didn't like on this visit was that I got a slice of "Pumpkin something" cake & it was good, but they don't have paper plates -- only ceramic or similar that you can only use inside the store. Ergo, if you go & want to sit outside, as San Diegans do, I guess it's BYOP if you're planning to eat. 😂“

“This cafe has very nice merchandise, the Drive thru is always full and that's why I got out. It's 24 hours.

Inside there are not many tables but super spacious. The service is good, the only thing that seemed in bad taste to me was that the girl who brought my hot sandwich said “Gladys or Glendys SOMETHING LIKE THAT.”

It is clean and the bathrooms are. Spacious.“

“I worked for Starbucks for 10 years in a very fast paced store in the University District of Seattle. I am so impressed with the caliber of the San Diego Gaslamp store. I am here for a conference and ordered a coffee every morning when they were extremely busy. They are fast, accurate, friendly and organized.
