“?CHICKEN ADOBO OMELETTE $17If you like sour food you might like this very typical Filipino dish! Vinegar cooked omelette rice! When it was served, it was really fragrant and appetizing! But I personally don’t like vinegar very much, so the taste doesn’t quite suit me.?DA SITUATION $13I like this very much! It’s a dish that’s perfect for brunchI like the crispy texture added by the tots inside~You can choose the meat according to your preference. We chose Lechon roast suckling pig.?SPICY GARLIC SHRIMP $19Seeing this makes me miss the food trucks in Hawaii.Their seasoning is good and the garlic flavor is less intense compared to the Hawaiian food truck. The problem is that as someone who grew up by the seaI think its shrimps are not very fresh (the meat is not firm but soft)“

Skewerzz Pinoy BBQ Barbecue • $
1225 E Santa Clara St, San Jose

“It's a food truck restaurant. But they have covered seating which they share with another pop up Mexican restaurant.A sign in the sidewalk directs you inside a driveway. It's the covered restaurant right there in the left. You can't tell because the sign is for the restaurant they share the eating space with.Menu is very limited but it's well prepare and good.Lumpia is fresh; he rolls and then deep fries them right there. The chicken with garlic rice is tasty. The garlic rice is actually white rice topped with toasted garlic. Try the pork and tocino skewers.“

“Valerio's is pure soul. I do not know how authentic it is to a true Filipino bakery and comfort food but all I can tell you is that the owners are genuine and feel like family. Both from the outwards facade and the interior, it is a run-down family joint. But the incessant local Filipino customer-base that comes by to get their bags of baked goods as well as hot food indicates that it is a locally loved establishment.

There's no menu. You peek over the glass counter and see what they have. Point your fingers to tasty noodles, beef, whatever else that looks good and no matter what you order, you get it at a cheap price with total comfort food taste. You're not going to be hungry. And you're going to be sucking your fingers asking for more.

Pretty much everything is good and can be felt that they're made with love. Make sure you get a stick or two of the Turons (fried banana sticks). The Turons are simply out of this world and that is an understatement.

The bags of freshly baked bread was still warm at 11 am. Pan de Sal, Pan de Coco, etc. all are done in a Filipino way - inheriting from the Portuguese / Spanish history but also mixing the local ingredients like coconut, pineapple, and bananas. It's also quite different from the Hawaiian style of bread.

Valerio's is a local jewel, dishing out love and warmth. It is worthy to drive all the way to San Jose just for this. And we'll be back.

Parking: Plenty of parking in the plaza lot.“

“I love that it's open late, 3am. I went at 1am. The parking lot looks sketchy cause there are no lights and this place is the only thing with lights on. Prices are great in my opinion.

Had the #1 pho. It was good. The broth was so full of flavor. Good amount of meat.

The taro boba was great. No complaints.

The grilled pork with rice and eggs was good too.

Now the papaya salad, who different story. I'm not sure if it's meant to mimic the Laos/Thai versions but it was so bland and tasteless.“
