“Pizza was the kind you know is going to be delicious before you even take a bite. You can tell they actually care about what they’re doing here. It’s the kind of place where the guy tossing the dough might also ring you up, and he’ll probably remember your order next time. No gimmicks, no fancy toppings trying to be something they’re not just solid, honest pizza done right.“

“This place is hopping, even on weekdays! I’m so glad to see a business doing well in this spot by the San Lorenzo post office. Of course, I had to try chang fen! I opted for the BBQ pork and dried shrimp combo for the filling, and I added scallions for a small upcharge. Most of the dishes offer several modification options. I was slightly worried that the dried shrimp flavor would be overwhelming, but it dissolved well into the soy-based sauce. The barbecue flavor was sweet but slightly smoky. I appreciated the vegetal zing the scallions brought to the dish. Do add some of the mild, yet lively, vinegar sauce on the table. The chile sauce also deserves a shout-out.

Great steamed walnut buns, and I also enjoyed the Liwan congee, but I think the simpler chicken or beef is what I'll opt for next time.“

From excellent specialty coffee and breakfast/lunch fare, with a mix of self service made easy and convivial. At dinner gets even better - exotic and exquisite food and wine (what a list! Even by glass), well portioned and presented, all paired up with excellent service from David - guiding you from food through wine and sequencing it all for ultimate delight. “AMAZING. Loved the service and coffee. I ordered the Sampaguita latte with whole milk and it was the perfect blend of not too sweet, not too bitter, and balanced coffee-milk ratio. I find a lot of lattes to be too light on the espresso but they have nailed it. My latte was fragrant and bright with almost chocolatey notes after the initial floral scent.“

It is a personally catered omakase bar service of very high quality. They also have a lovely sake selection.

“Oh G Burger is a cozy place tucked on A Street in Hayward. With a wide seating area and bright, red, white and blue walls, it brings a more retro atmosphere, helped by the selection of 80's, 90's and 00's music. Aesthetically, it's somewhere between an old-school diner and a cafeteria, and I greatly appreciate that.

During my visit, the owner made sure to meet my needs in a timely and respectful manner. Ice for my drink was available on request, as well as water (and water cups). I noted that the owner was also very close with his regulars, but also willing to give a customer space if he felt that they wanted to be alone. It seems that management is in good hands.

On this first visit, I ordered the Hayward Burger combo. To be honest, I didn't take a closer look at the menu and just picked on the spot - almost none of the ingredients in the burger itself were anything I would have normally had. Based on its individual ingredients, I should have hated what I ordered... but I didn't! The combination of flavors made what would have been an unpleasant experience in lesser hands, a pleasantly surprising one. Even if I don't know whether or not I will order another Hayward Burger, it's certainly changed my opinion on bell peppers for the future. For that, I have to give a 5 star rating for the food - at any other place, I think I would have hated it.

The bratwurst is perfect with the kraut and horseradish. The smoked bison is a bit on the dry and spicy side. Reminds me of a Slim Jim. I wish I tasted more bison, but it's still good. The herbed goat cheese and lavash bread is to die for! The herbs are perfectly balanced with the cheese and spreads so easily on the bread!All paired perfectly with Zin-phomaniac red wine!“
