“This place is hopping, even on weekdays! I’m so glad to see a business doing well in this spot by the San Lorenzo post office. Of course, I had to try chang fen! I opted for the BBQ pork and dried shrimp combo for the filling, and I added scallions for a small upcharge. Most of the dishes offer several modification options. I was slightly worried that the dried shrimp flavor would be overwhelming, but it dissolved well into the soy-based sauce. The barbecue flavor was sweet but slightly smoky. I appreciated the vegetal zing the scallions brought to the dish. Do add some of the mild, yet lively, vinegar sauce on the table. The chile sauce also deserves a shout-out.

Great steamed walnut buns, and I also enjoyed the Liwan congee, but I think the simpler chicken or beef is what I'll opt for next time.“

OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. “I really loved the Lao Special menu. You can order small portion of diverse foods. I ordered several items I have never eaten before, and they were all fantastic. The fermented pork sausage was the most "out there" dish from an American point of view: I didn't even know such a thing existed. Nice interior, and the service is great. This is some of the best Laotian food I've tried in the Bay. It turns out the portions are pretty generous, so I took soke home for another meal.“

“We’ve got two pour over - Ethiopia and Rwanda. Both had a slightly acidic taste and delicious! The pastry, cinnamon bun, was so good. Soft and not overly sweet. Very tasty. It felt like European-style bread. Despite only two seats available, we still enjoyed our coffee on site. Staff was very friendly.“

“I got the Apple Fritter and custard filled bar. My friend got an assortment including some vegan doughnuts. The Apple Fritter was great but the filling in the bar had an aftertaste that I wasn’t a fan of and the chocolate topping started melting off faster than I expected. The maple glazed old fashioned was super yummy and I think that’s what I’ll get when I go back. The people who ate the vegan ones were very pleased that they had them and really enjoyed the flavors. They also have a great variety of drinks and coffee.“

Also I think most of their pricing is reasonable given the quality of their ingredients. So they are doing fabulous but here are some additional suggestions from me - -I wish they would do a weekly soup and quiche flavor according to the seasons as they do with desserts. -I would love to see a comprehensible cake list with sizes and prices to be able to order cakes for birthdays and such. -I would love to see opera cake slices as it’s one of my favorites. -Since most items are on the $$ side, it would be great if they let people sample a few of the newer things because people are hesitant to spend money on something they are not sure they would like.
