“We were gifted our first ever Bake Sum box. After trying just one bite of a Yuzu meringue bun I knew I needed more. Ordered our second BSB last week and shared amongst the roomies, huge hit. Well baked, not too sweet, great flavor combinations. 10/10 would recommend the Bake Sum box. If you can’t grab a box, you can grab al a cart day of pick ups just to tide you over until you can get a box 😋“

“I really loved the Lao Special menu. You can order small portion of diverse foods. I ordered several items I have never eaten before, and they were all fantastic. The fermented pork sausage was the most "out there" dish from an American point of view: I didn't even know such a thing existed. Nice interior, and the service is great. This is some of the best Laotian food I've tried in the Bay. It turns out the portions are pretty generous, so I took soke home for another meal.“

We had the pork carnitas they were well done cooked, the fish tacos were humongous and we add an extra one for $6 , they were ok. The chips salsa and guacamole were very tasty and delicious (highly recommended), for cocktails we had the Tepache con Tiki and a Vampiro, we were not impressed, I think they still need to work on their cocktails. We also had the Pot De Creme for dessert and it was very tasty
We will definitely go back to try a couple of dishes and other drinks“

OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. “I thought this would be a dime a dozen dive bar type spot, but thankfully I was wrong. It was pretty poppin for a Monday evening, but not enough to where it was overwhelming. The trees are fantastic, and the cocktails were actually good! We even got a nifty NA cocktail as a nightcap. I'll be coming back next time I'm in the area.“

“Hard to reserve seats at this 8 seat only Omakase behind an unmarked door in Alameda. Led by a quality, experience, and diner education obsessed chef who personally selects and imports most of the seafood from Japan.

It is a personally catered omakase bar service of very high quality. They also have a lovely sake selection.

The employee who served me was very nice. I asked about the spice levels for a dish and she gave me a sample so I could decide if I wanted to order it in full. 🙂 I look forward to coming back.“

“We’ve got two pour over - Ethiopia and Rwanda. Both had a slightly acidic taste and delicious! The pastry, cinnamon bun, was so good. Soft and not overly sweet. Very tasty. “Nice little cafe located in downtown Oakland that’s a unique experience from your typical third wave coffee roasters in the Bay Area. Delay is a middle eastern coffee shop so they specialize in Yemeni coffees and teas.

I tried the Adeni chai which was a solid choice. The tea had milk flavors and some spices which added to the drink, though I wish the spice flavor was a bit stronger. Next time I’d try one of their coffee based drinks instead.

Also I think most of their pricing is reasonable given the quality of their ingredients. So they are doing fabulous but here are some additional suggestions from me - -I wish they would do a weekly soup and quiche flavor according to the seasons as they do with desserts. -I would love to see a comprehensible cake list with sizes and prices to be able to order cakes for birthdays and such. -I would love to see opera cake slices as it’s one of my favorites. -Since most items are on the $$ side, it would be great if they let people sample a few of the newer things because people are hesitant to spend money on something they are not sure they would like. “OMG this place is good! I’m usually not excited about a grill but do get excited about cheese and boy does this place have cheese in spades!

I got the MeltBurger because I couldn’t resist the oozing cheese in the picture. The burger looked just like the picture and tasted amazing! Juicy and full of flavor!

My wife got the Mac Daddy which, honestly, doesn’t really sound all that doo - carbs on carbs but it was SO GOOD! A great cheesy flavor and then bacon to boot. Yummy!

We topped our meal off with the garlic parm fries that were perfectly cooked and generous amounts of Parmesan on top and garlic throughout!

I highly recommend.

A quiet option for your brunch/ coffee times 🤗

We were there only for coffee, but seemed like a nice place to grab a small bite as well. Many people were doing that.

Open deck, overlooking the Centerville Station was a fun location to enjoy the coffee.

Service was great 👍 despite the wait, staff was supportive and kind.

Overall, a great option, if you like charming, old and quiet places. Don’t forget to take a walk around. Hope you enjoy! ❤️“

“It’s a hole in a wall. I ordered the adobo pusit, bansilog, sinigang broth and tocilog on two different occasions. None took away my breath. They were mediocre. The same as the surrounding Filipino restaurants. However, the owners’ friendliness and genuineness were apparent. Both sisters on two separate occasions, stopped at my table and engaged in a warm conversation, making me feel like a beloved family. I felt like I was being served at Nobu. I asked if they had coffee and she said she can make me one, which was not part of the menu, plus it was’t included on the final check. The black pipping hot coffee was in a paper dixie cup, but tasted better than coffee in Brazil. This personalized and attentive service ensured a positive experience, despite the food.

Overall, this hole in the wall offers a welcoming atmosphere and friendly owners. The food might not be the primary draw, but it’s a great choice if seeking a comfortable spot with excellent customer interactaction.“
