“Found Daily Recess at the The Box SF Eat Me! Artisan Food Fair and OMG, the yuzu vanilla bean is unreal. Bright, creamy, perfectly tart, and roll-your-eyes-back delicious. Also loved the pomegranate rose (vegan!) — such a great flavor combo. Brian, the owner, is super friendly and has such a warm smile.

Highly recommend seeking them out and if you see the yuzu vanilla bean on the menu, don’t overthink it. Just get it.

“Stopped by recently on a hot summer day for some gelato. Talk about a perfect repast to beat the summer heat. I had hazelnut and mango, and the portions are very generous. I didn't ask, but I think they make the cones in-house. Anyway, strange combination, I know. The mango was immediately delicious but I think I messed up combining the two because when it came time for the hazelnut, I was too full to truly enjoy the depth of flavor. Next time, I'll get it to take home. I love the location, it's in one of my favorite areas of San Rafael with shopping, good food and entertainment in abundance. Haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm a New Yorker and we're picky about our slices!“

“Swirl is scrumptious and so refreshing on hot days. The flavors are yummy. My favorite is watermelon. It is smooth and tasty! There are so many varieties that we asked them for their popular ones and yet I got the chacobanga and rose scoops on a cone and a chocolate in a cup. The service is great and the vibe is cool, literally you feel you are in a tropical place with music, vibe and great ice cream with amazing interiors. “Visited for the first time and have to admit I was wary because of the reviews. Ended up talking with the owner for a few minutes and he was incredibly friendly. He's been running the place for 40 years. We talked about the history of the establishment and how he got into the gelato business. No rudeness and delicious gelato. The small seating area in the back was very nice for our small group. I would highly recommend it and plan to go back often.“
