“First time trying La Cueva and I’m glad we noticed them on Google Maps! We try new places almost everyday. Because this restaurant is in a small plaza and hard to see from the road we would have never stopped here by just driving around.
We noticed the great ratings on Google and wanted to eat Mexican food today.
The service was great, friendly, and fast. The food was different and delicious! The green salsa was amazing! Will definitely come back again!“

“MONDAY FOOD REVIEW...PUESTO...6/17/24! After leaving California's Great America, we stopped for lunch at Puesto, a Mexican/American restaurant, located at 2752 Augustine Dr., in Santa Clara. This restaurant features Mexican dishes with an American flare infusion! I had their their Shrimp a la Plancha, which is Mexican shrimp, garlic butter, red onions, jalapeños, guajillo chile, avocado, and Tamarindo-chile sauce, and it comes with herb lime rice, black beans, and blue corn tortillas. This was absolutely fabulous!!! It wasn't your typical Mexican dish...the different ingredients they used to create this dish all blended together VERY well!!! If you are looking for a little something different to satisfy your Mexican food craving, and want some added flair, then this is THE restaurant to go to!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!!!! “I've been to pretty much every taqueria and truck in a 5 mile radius and these guys are definitely in the top 10%! Tacos were good, and came with carrots, radishes, a pepper on the side and they have some small bags of chips.

There is some seating & tables there, but you might as well grab your food and walk across the street to Eagle or Pioneer Park where there are some picnic tables & benches.“

Except for green jalapenos did it really nail that one but hey I don't know what the Spanish word is for green so perhaps I've been outsmarted again.?
Pretty much all the food that they had here was Mexican food.
I can't really say things like Coca-Cola is Mexican food or the water.
Although it is San Jose so it's just a different kind of poison.
Other than toxic water which the whole city has this place had toxically enticing meals. I went for a burrito like I always do it wasn't vegan it used to moo.

“This is my absolute favorite Mexican spot. The service is best in class. The chips never run out, drinks never run dry, leftovers are boxed up, and dishes cleared as soon as they empty. Staff is wonderful, and they always remember us. Portions are bountiful, and the cooks are fast. I truly have zero complaints.“

“A True Gem!
I recently discovered El Camarón de Sinaloa, and it’s an absolute gem. The chips are made fresh and served with a delicious homemade salsa that sets the tone for an incredible meal. I ordered the shrimp ceviche, which was fresh and bursting with flavor, served with a generous stack of tostadas.

While I didn’t try the sushi, it looked amazing and is definitely on my list for next time. The garlic shrimp plate was another standout, especially with the homemade corn tortillas that added a special touch.

If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican seafood, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

“I just had the best nachos I've ever had in my life! All the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful--chopped tomatoes, guac, sour cream, cheese, pickled jalapeños, etc. with a good balance of ingredients. For protein I chose the fish and they were perfectly fried. The only tip I'd offer to anyone ordering the nachos is to eat them as soon as you get them. I got to the restaurant late and picked up my order but by the time I drove home half of the nachos were soggy. The green and red salsas were excellent if you love heat (like me). Looking forward to trying the tacos and aguas frescas!“

“I stopped here quite randomly was going for a drive from San Francisco to Santa Cruz. I ordered 2 soft fish tacos – it was massive! And super tasty. It came with four soft tacos and enough fish to fill at least that many. Great value and would recommend it for a Mexican fix for anyone driving though this way.“

We don't have a lot of food options here in Boulder Creek, and El Rey Leon easily makes up for any gaps in dining choices. We gladly visit this establishment as much as we can.
