“Honestly, the best German food I have ever had. We started with the goulash and the cream of broccoli soup. We knew we were in the right place! We ordered the meatloaf-special of the day, a house platter-mixed assortment of foods, and the sausage plate. Every bite was pure joy. The best sauerkraut ever. I miss it already. We had to try the desserts so we tried the apple custard and the black forest cake. Yummmm! Be sure to book a reservation, they did turn a family away. Don’t miss this gem. 💎“

“Absolutely delightful atmosphere, tucked away from the busy shops in a little back street hideaway. Flavorful selection of all of Carmel valley’s best varietals. Has several Bordeaux blends, a Super Tuscan, and many single varietal bottles. Each wine is a prime example of a California terroir spin on the classics. The tasting was $35 for 5 heavy pour tastes. Highly recommend!“

“Had a lovely afternoon tasting wine at the Holman Tasting Room. Elizabeth was super knowledgeable and very accommodating- we very much enjoyed talking to her about wine and the region. Wines were top notch. Especially love the Chardonnay, 3 Sisters Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Very nice cheese and charcuterie board. Definitely recommend checking them out.“

“I’ve never heard of Puma Road wines before; I was walking with my dog and I was surprised that dogs are welcomed. The places had live music, very welcoming towards families. I simply tried one of their Pino Noirs which was ok. I decided to buy a bottle of their Tanat, which I just opened to today and it was outstanding…I definitely will purchase some more“

“We did Welcome Drinks at Scratch for our wedding weekend. First off, the space is beautiful- very open with a few seating options- it was perfect for what we were looking for (open cocktail hour vibe). I would say we had about 70-100 guests and there was room for everyone to mingle and walk around. The wines were delicious and the charcuterie boards were great for our guests to graze on. The servers were very attentive and Sabrine and the team were awesome to coordinate with- they made everything so easy and straightforward. We will definitely be back!“

“Great central Carmel location amongst galleries, bakeries, coffee shops, bookstores etc. In good weather ask for the patio they take reservations by inside vs outside. Great atmosphere out there… old building, stucco, vines, etc. It was cool but they have plenty of heaters. Great food… had bruschetta appetizer which is loaded with diced tomatoes and smoked flavor (grilled bread). Also the di stefano salad, it has crispy goat cheese, roasted beets and fig-balsamic dressing. Excellent, highly recommended! Had the cioppino which was excellent. Good wine list. Eat here lunch OR dinner.“

They can cater to whatever music you’re into. Fabulous and extensive wine selection. Great for any day and any time. Romantic date night setting or business casual meetings. Perfect little hidden gem.

“This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! “This was a great way to wrap up our wine tasting in Carmel Valley. You order at the counter, then take your number and find a place to sit. They will bring the food out to you, but you are on your own for keeping your water filled and getting napkins, utensils, etc.

The food was simple (grilled cheese with sun dried tomato pesto and the side of meatballs), but the quality and taste were on point. Two of us split these, and we each had a glass of wine (great selection of area wineries).

It was recommended to by Pyper at Sardine Factory, and we thank her for that.“

My wife ordered the salmon bowl and the veggies and fish were cooked to perfection. I had the chicken bulgogi and to say I was happy is an understatement. We had the soup and pork dumplings as well and was bummed I forgot to get some to go.

The service was fantastic, the waitress/host was extremely friendly and personable. They were really sweet to our little pup who was welcome in the outdoor patio area so he could sit with us!

“My girlfriend and I visited this place last week and I’m writing in from FL! Dining at this place was truly an experience. Not only was the entire staff extremely welcoming and knowledgeable of the menu, but the food was remarkable! Every ingredient seemed to be hand selected to craft the perfect symphony of flavors. The scallops appetizer was amazing - hands down the best either of us have ever had! I had the chefs special with grouper (catch of the day) and my girlfriend had the filet! 5 stars isn’t enough!
