No mid-morning crash, no desperate snack attacks, just steady energy to crush meetings, workouts, and everything in between.

“I’m really grateful the melt is open so late because where else can you get a quality burger at 1 in the morning? Now that I graduated UCSD, I’m seriously gonna miss my beloved late night snickerdoodle milkshakes as well as being greeted by the melt’s friendly staff! Claire really stood out to me as someone who was consistently cheerful and helpful. I also really love that they’ve been showing the World Cup! “Except for the long drive-through lines, it’s worth going. And I have to actually admit that the lines move pretty quickly.
I do think that they ought to put their napkins in a separate small bag, before dropping them in on top of the burgers. I can never use them by the time I get home because they’re covered with sauce and cheese!

“First visit, I had the Chimichurri Tri-Tip plate ($20.95).
The tri-tip was very good, nicely done. Good flavor and good serving size. Chimicurri sauce was also very good. The fries were served hot and crisp, mixed grilled veg serving was very small, focaccia bread (not shown) was fresh.
The counter service was slow, we were ignored for too long, with no acknowledgement.
We sat on outside patio area, staff was slow to clean tables (there were crows feeding off the leftover plates).“

“My first time here. It was good, not great. I got the single burger lounge combo and added bacon and avocado. The burger itself is really small so get the double even if you wouldn't normally or think it's too much. Since the burger is thin and small, the toppings are really overwhelming and it's really all I tasted. The service was excellent.“

“The entire staff is friendly, professional, and extremely hospitable. Today, I ordered a burger for my son with a condiment that I forgot he didn’t like. When it arrived at the table, the gentleman who brought the order to our table immediately recognized that my son wasn't happy about it. Without hesitating, he immediately exchanged the burger for one without the condiment and even brought a small French fry for my son while he waited. This prevented a hungry kid's meltdown. It was a small gesture that had a hugely positive impact on the quality of our experience. “One of our favorite spots in Carlsbad! The atmosphere is always so good, the beer selection is amazing, the food hits every time, and the staff truly makes this place what it is.

Steel and Cass are THE BEST. We specifically love coming in for San Diego Sundays because they make it such a fun time every single time. Such a great spot to come watch a game. The service is always incredible, they are so welcoming, so attentive, and they bring the best energy. They are a huge reason we keep coming back.

The beer selection is insane too. Tons of cans and bottles to choose from, so many great IPAs, and always something new to try. And do not sleep on the food. The burgers are all so good, the black truffle burrata is unreal, and the Getting Figgy With It pizza with prosciutto added, per Steel’s recommendation, is a MUST.

Perfect for lunch, beers with friends, date night, or just hanging out for a few hours. Great food, great drinks, great vibes, and even better people. Steel and Cass deserve all the hype. We love this place!“

“Taco Tuesdays are my favorite day at this place because the food is great. However, I’ve heard that the food might be different on other days.

One thing that really annoys me is their payment system. You have to pay for your order first and then wait in line for it. The line can be incredibly long, sometimes over 30 minutes.

Despite the long wait, their system tacos are amazing on Taco Tuesdays.
Word of caution: the Al pastor tacos can be very inconsistent, one day they can be crispy with full of flavor, other days they can be soggy and bland.“
