The pork was well marinated and super tender, there was a good tang from the pickled carrot and daikon, the baguette is crusty yet soft, and the cucumber/cilantro/jalapeno was fresh and crunchy. We ate the sandwiches in silence which always means the food is good. This is a long-winded review just to say - Get the banh mi. 👌🏻“

“A quaint spot tucked away in Chinatown. We got the mi xao don, banh cuon, and pho dac biet and all were delicious. The skin on the banh cuon was different but not in a bad way, the filling was well flavored. The pho was on point but the star of the show was the mi xao don - the noodles were crispy, the veggies fresh, and they were generous with the sauce (and the flavor was perfect). I was also incredibly impressed with the service. I didn’t catch the server’s name but he was very cheery and attentive. A great experience overall.“

I tried the spicy beef pho -so good, however I think next time I’ll get the regular beef pho, so I can control the flavors a bit more. I also got the milk tea. “I've been to many Pho restaurants and this one stands out because, they offer unlimited noodles for free!!! They have different types of noodles but the traditional noodles you typically get with Pho, you can ask for an unlimited amount. Just the noodles so no proteins but how cool is that? One portion was good enough for me, but I saw plenty of other customers asking for extra noodles. What a way to stand out. What adds to the appeal is that the food was good. I ordered the Pho Tai with meatballs and the food tasted clean wasn't greasy or heavy. The service was good and brisk as most Asian restaurants are. “I saw the review from Lan Hoàng, and I have to speak up—because I was there that day, having lunch with my mom. And frankly, her version of the story is completely misleading.

She made a scene over the rice paper—complaining that 8 pieces for $2 was “too expensive” and demanding 12 pieces for $3. The prices were clearly printed on the menu. Then she loudly announced she could buy rice paper cheaper at the supermarket and bring it in herself. Seriously? That’s not how restaurants work.

Her voice was so loud that everyone nearby could hear her ranting, ruining the dining experience for others. The manager, to his credit, remained calm, professional, and stood his ground. He told her—rightfully so—that the price is $2 for 8 pieces, no exceptions.

Then she goes online and has the nerve to say the manager “lacks manners”? That’s laughable. If anyone was disrespectful, it was her. She should take a long, hard look in the mirror before she dares to judge someone else.

If I were the manager, I wouldn’t serve her again. Period. People like that come in with entitlement, create drama over one dollar, and then try to trash hardworking staff online when they don’t get their way. It’s not okay.

I will say this—the Bánh xèo was absolutely delicious. And that’s the only thing she got right.“

“I absolutely love, love, loooooove this family friendly jewel. Starting with the food first ?, there is an abundance of everything even if it's a plate order for one person. The broth is clean, the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the flavors do NOT stop with mmmmmm?. Your meal experience, will result in you leaving with a happy and full belly. I've even seen some family that brought children, with excitement for the food here and kids can be picky. The service is quick, communication is clear, and the restaurant team is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. “My brother and I went to Pho Hoan Pasteur with high expectations as they had high ratings on Yelp.
He ordered the regular sized steak and tendon pho. He found one piece of tendon in the entire bowl, so he was disappointed. The taste of the pho broth was just OK... not the best, nor the worst he's ever had.
I had the grilled shrimp bun and it came with two egg rolls. I was disappointed as rice noodles were all broken. It felt as though the bowl was filled with the rice noodle scraps at the bottom of the bag. The fish sauce wasn't remarkable either. I added lime juice and samba.
We tried it. We probably won't return.“

“Been here twice for a takeout, once for garlic noodles and once for the vermicelli. Both were delicious.
The chicken I had with garlic noodles was well-seasoned and not too salty, and wasn't dry. The pork I had with the vermicelli was also well-seasoned. The garlic noodles came with thinly sliced, sauteed beans of some kind and had a nice crispy texture. The vermicelli came with sliced almonds, lettuce, bean sprouts, Thai basil, and cucumber and were fresh.
It's a relatively small shop, so a large party of 6+ should probably do a takeout.“

“It's easily the best Banh Mi joint in all of SoCal. This place tops them all. The attention to detail is superb. They come individually packaged in a box, sauce, and veggies on the side to keep the sandwich crisp. Bread made in house, probably, based on the way the bread has irregular edges and the overall quality. Bread is soft and light in the middle and extra crispy on the outside. The best sandwich here is the Roasted Pork. Listen, there's the usual dry roasted pork you get from those roasted duck houses, and then there's this. All you foodies know what im talking about. This roast is simply done right. It's crispy and light skin around soft juicy meat and fat. No hard glass shards breaking off a over done wet roasted pork belly here. It's roasted to perfection. You know it's cooked at a perfect 165 to retain the juices. The chef really really knows what he/she is doing. Don't expect all meat and no fat. It's not a bourgeois place. And dont expect a 12 dollar rip off. It's not that either. It's a wholesome mom and pop join that service fair priced $7.50 specialty sandwiches that you can't even compare to quality in Vietnam's best joint. Come here with confidence, it's simply the best Banh Mi in all of Southern California. I'm willing to bet the best for its price in all of the US and Vietnam combined. Go try it and you will definitely agree. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.“

“I had the chicken pho with beef broth. The soup itself had good flavor, but the chicken was very tough—it had been cut with the grain instead of against it. It was so difficult to chew that I only managed to eat about 20% of it. Isn't slicing against the grain basic cooking technique for chicken?

However it was good we found a late night option. It was packed when we went there around 9:30p!“

Definitely one of the best Vietnamese home cooked meals at a restaurant in the area. The flavour is so authentic that can transport you back to the Southern of Vietnam (mien Tay) in a bite. We ordered the lunch set for family and cannot fault a thing. It came with canh chua, ca chien, goi tom thit, ca kho, bap cai chua. Flavour was mouth watering and all very good value for money.
