Right off the beach parking lot with park and seating area, and steps away from the beach itself, Parkside Cafe is a place I fully recommend. The foods quality and freshness are generally consistent throughly the yrs but once in awhile, it just off, we had that couple time. Also just my pov, it is abit declined since the beginning. But they are still delish and got to have it at least one year. Services are the same, mostly great but one in a full moons just the opposite. Overall still an institutional place or landmark for SF and the Vietnamese community for sure. I tried to sit sibling places in SF doentown, BH and South coat plaza and even with the mother cooked in BH, somehow this place still carries the original and most flavorful crab ever.“

“Stopped here on the way to OAK from Medocino for some vegan lunch and they had a ton of options! Yay! The owner walked us through Walmart can be veganized which was so helpful. I had a curry rice and my husband had a cilantro quinoa and we kept switching back and forth with both us proclaiming that ours was better than the others. Truly a great (and delicious) experience!“

“Love this place!! The quesadillas are like toasted cheesy burritos and we are obsessed with them. Love the al pastor quesadilla, and the sangria is delish.

TBH we have not enjoyed the regular tacos as much, found them too plain. The specialty ones are good. But the quesadillas and fajitas are truly the way to go.“

Very simple basic menu, but everything was perfect. Flavorful, fresh, generously sized, good service. Everything was right. We are talking San Francisco - San Jose level of excellence for Vietnamese food. I used to think you had to go to the City to find great Vietnamese food, But now we have it local here in San Rafael. The other Vietnamese restaurants around town can't even compare. This restaurant is now on my short list. Coming back. Five star.“

Arti made us feel at home, and took care of us, even when they were getting takeout orders persistently.

The ginger ale has a spicy taste and you can really taste the ginger. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re expecting a soda that tastes like Canada Dry. The mango lassi drinks in the fridge are really good, and I don’t generally eat mangos.

“Tasty Mediterranean food. Good amount of vegan options with falafel. The falafel is very good, high quality and nicely fried.
The falafel burger was very tasty, and the crispy falafel added a nice texture. The fries were okay, a bit dry. Also got the sampler platter - liked the falafel, pita, hummus, baba ganoush, and salad that came with it. The dolmas were not my favorite.
Very good service. The bathroom is shared with the other businesses in the building and was fine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.“

It has greasy diner vibes and lacks the airy inviting beach Cafe ambiance, I think they'd make a killing with an image makeover, a few salads on the menu, and an espresso machine.
