“I had such a wonderful meal at this spot in Sherman Oaks. Everything arrived at the table looking beautiful, especially the way the spring rolls and other dishes were presented on top of those crispy rice noodles.

“One of several new malatang places in the area, Bruin Bowl is not a large place, but they seem to have a solid selection of meats, veggies, noodles, and seafood despite their modest size. “Din Tai Fung is a very nice restaurant with a clean and comfortable feeling. I really liked the outdoor seating area. It had a chill and relaxing vibe, and they also have heaters above the table area, which helps keep your head warm when sitting outside. Nice little detail.

The food was good, and I especially liked the cucumber appetizer. It was fresh, flavorful, and a great starter. The portions are a little smaller and the price is higher, but that is kind of expected for Din Tai Fung, especially inside a mall.

One small tip: the restroom is located at the back of the restaurant. If you see a red light above the door, that means it is being used.

“I randomly found this place when I was in the area. The restaurant itself is very cute and clean. The service was superb, we got seated right away and got our water right away. We ordered the noodles, XLB and popcorn chicken and cucumber salad. The XLB was so juicy and I didn’t expect a stream to shoot out from my mouth from the first bite into the XLB. “No tip. Yes, you heard right. You don't need to tip here. Almost everything is self serve, they do bring out the food and you can leave the trays on the table, but they don't care about tip, at least when we were there. A lot of their focus was takeout, so when we got in (not during the semester), it was empty. You get your own water from a pretty strong tap. Food was served in disposable big bowls which is nice.

Food is amazing, and the quantity given was decent. Hot or cold, noodles were great, lots of flavor, fresh. And the popcorn chicken was pretty good too, fresh and crispy.“

Went here with my kid and my mom last weekend. My eyes were bigger than my stomach as I proceeded to order more food than needed. We ordered a Mapo Tofu, a Juicy Pork Dumpling, a Pork Wonton in Spicy Sauce, a Green Onion Pancake and their marquee dish, Chongqing Crispy Chicken. Without a doubt, each dish was fire, but the Pork Wonton in Spicy Sauce really blew my socks off. The flavor was on point, and it wasn't very spicy. While I like it spicy, I know a lot of people don't like it. So this dish is perfect for people who want to like it spicy, but can't quite handle it. We ordered two rices, but in retrospect we should have ordered three... The Mapo Tofu demands more rice.

The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were very polite and accomodating. For now I can honestly I have found my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the valley. I will continue to go back here any time I have a hankering for Chinese, which is not true, because I always have a hankering for Chinese. The restaurant is like 20+ minutes away from my house, so it just isn't practical, and it is a tad expensive to be doing that. I think we got out of there after tip around $90, but again, it was a lot of food, and I had enough leftovers for another lunch for two. Definitely check it out!“

“Saturday at noon. All the stars aligned. Found parking right in front. Minimal wait for a table of 6. By the tine the rest of our party arrived they were ready to seat us. Afterwards we walked around 99 ranch next door to burn off some of the food.

“Dined here around 3:30pm and it was empty, so great time to come! We ordered sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken, chicken chow mein, and Mongolian beef and all dishes were delicious! Portions are big (we all got small but we all had lots of leftovers).

They also have boba milk tea which was one of the best we've ever had. It wasn't too sweet and tasted like they actually used real tea. Perfect for a hot day.

Prices were good and the employees were friendly. Def a good place to go for Chinese cuisine.“

“Love this place for cheap delicious and fast meals! The combo B is my go-to with orange chicken and mushroom chicken with chow mein. Chow mein is delicious! Orange chicken is the best I’ve had in a restaurant to date and honestly I’ve never had anything that wasn’t good. Fried items that don’t travel as well I’d like are the cream cheese wontons (good, but a bit oily and not much crisp after delivery) and spring rolls - same thing. Portions are huge on Combo B. On combo C the third item will come in a tiny Chinese food container, and if that’s your favorite one out of the three dishes, you may be a little upset.“

“I used to come here years ago. I worked basically a few doors down at the Dispensary. I haven’t been around in years but I was over in the area and I stopped by. The stand out here is the Spicy Orange Chicken!!! It was perfectly fried and the jalapeños were the perfect complement. The noodles had a great chew to them and my two other sides had a lot of flavor. I went with teriyaki chicken and mushroom chicken.
There are chili oils on the counter and sriracha to take to your table. This is one of the hole in the wall places that I love.“

“Wow, this place was good. Being located in the corner of a small strip mall, this is definitely a gem you would have a hard time stumbling upon by chance. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere really gave me the impression that this is a family-run operation that cares about quality. It's a small location, maybe 10 or 12 usable tables, but it was pretty empty even during dinner time on a Friday, so the food came out quickly, and it was some of the best Chinese food I've had in the Valley. “We’ve been to Dan Modern Chinese a few times now, and it’s been consistently great every single visit—which is why we keep coming back.

We usually go for the Dan Mein with short rib (still a favorite!), but this was our first time doing takeout and trying the Dan Mein with shrimp—and it did not disappoint. The noodles were still perfectly cooked, the shrimp were plump and flavorful, and everything held up really well even to-go.

We also ordered the Mapo Tofu with pork, which was just as good as we remembered—rich, silky, and packed with that signature spicy, numbing kick. And the spicy oxtail noodle soup was a standout again, with deep, bold flavors and incredibly tender meat.

We added some steamed dumplings and xiao long bao too, and they were a great addition—fresh, delicate, and full of flavor. Even as takeout, they held up nicely and rounded out the meal perfectly.

Overall, whether dining in or ordering out, Dan Modern Chinese continues to impress with its consistency, quality, and bold flavors. Already looking forward to our next visit!“

I was here often around the end of 2019.
I remember they used to have good chicken wings. I haven't been here since then untill today, and I won't be here maybe for years atleast since I eat almost everywhere.

By the way... if you're on a budget, this place is a good place to eat. Their portion is generous and the foods are good. The Chinese lady who take your orders, scoop the foods, and charge you on the register has been very nice everytime I visit this place, doesn't matter how long she hasn't seen me, she's always kind.“

Jjampong was decent. I think it lacked a bit of depth for the flavor. Sad there was no shrimp or other seafood. Noodles were decent and had a decent bite. 7.8/10. Chicken wings were... sad. I dont know if there was a sauce shortage... but it should be more a few drops on there... 7.4/10. I would also like to recommend a no pork in the jjajangmyun option. I know its pre-made but it would be nice...“

“No dine in so I won’t review service and atmosphere. Crab Rangoon was good. Orange chicken was fairly good but some pieces had more orange flavor than others. Black pepper beef had lots of vegetables and would have preferred more beef, flavor was good but could have been more peppery. Xo sauce string beans didn’t have much flavor, but I tasted the sauce in the bottom of the container and it was good so maybe the beans need to marinate more. I’ll try it again tomorrow and see if it tastes better. So, all in all, I’d say the food is kind of average.“

“Imperial Chinese restaurant is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. First and most important, the food tastes amazing, is really fresh, and in generous quantities.
The service is always polite, friendly, and professional.
Takeaway orders are always ready and hot, and parking is easy.
There's nothing not to love about Imperial Chinese restaurant.
