He does a rotating menu based on the seasons so ingredients are seasonal and very fresh. The dishes were refreshing, flavorful, interesting and not too heavy. We ordered the waldorf salad, grilled sourdough (so good), tuna crudo, aguachile, and risotto (amazing). Wanted to try the griddle cake but they were out. “It's rare when every plate you order is great but from the appetizer to salad to entree to cocktail to dessert --everything was delicious. The biscuits and ham were fantastic. The wedge salad had great flavor contrasts. I had the stroganoff which was fantastic, highly recommend it. My lady had the flat iron steak which was generous and had an excellent char. I had the rum drink where the surfer's go, and it was hard not to order another one!

“We love JB Burgers. Why? For one, the food is great. I get a steak sandwich all the time. No mayo, due to a diet constraint. Sometimes I'll get a bowl of chili ... or if I'm in the mood, I'll get a stack of french toast with my steak sandwich. Yes, that's a lot of food!

Steak sandwich - The french roll is good. The steak is a nice piece of meat and it has great flavor. They put tomatoes and lettuce. The tomatoes are good. The lettuce adds a crisp crunch, but there's a lot of white lettuce. The steak sandwich is a must!

My better half gets a guacamole burger. Tasty and the guac adds some healthiness AND the creamy texture replaces mayo, 1000 Island or any other sauce that's not healthy.

The chili is good! When it's chilly or on a rainy day, it's good comfort food!

French Toast - this is good stuff. They give you a lot and it's made well. Taste is really good and they use a thicker bread - yummm!

Now to the wonderful staff! 95% of the time we've had good to exceptional service. I order inside the restaurant - makes sense since we're eating inside. One time, this gal told me I could not order inside and she made me go outside to order. I told her I order inside all the time, but she didn't want to listen. I almost left, but I saw the familiar faces there, so I ordered outside. The next time I saw her there, she let me order inside.

I try to get to JB's at least once a week. They're my go to!

I stopped by Chicken Koop in Whittier the other day, and I’m still thinking about it. The naan bread alone is worth the visit—so soft, warm, and fresh, it’s basically impossible to stop eating it.

The team here is awesome, too. Everyone’s super friendly and makes you feel welcome, like they’re happy to have you there. It’s just one of those places where you can tell they care about what they’re doing.
