“Feels like a completely different place what once was a Carol's is now a peaceful friendly Danny's this spot is my new favorite super close to where I live. My family enjoyed the meals and they were cooked too perfection. No disappointments here. We're all going to this Danny's from now on.“

“First time having lunch here and was happy with the food and service. Their lunch specials are a great low price option as well. I had the turkey burger and fries. Can’t say I’ve had many turkey burgers in my past to compare this one to, but I can say I enjoyed mine. The meat was juicy and was pretty tasty. The fries were nice and crisp which I prefer as well, so all good. My co-workers seemed to enjoy their meals as well so all good. Price was the surprise. A lot of great options on their $10 lunch menu which will have me coming back to try a few more. Considering there was only one server and a manager, they managed to keep up with service and our water glasses full.“

The wax beans were a standout - snappy and bright with serrano chile, toasted hazelnuts, and a tangy Frenchie vinaigrette. The garden lettuces were crisp and well dressed with radish vinaigrette, fresh dill, walnuts, and shallots. Good vibe, happy staff, great mix of flavors. The orange wine pairing tied it all together. Everything was really well done and very flavorful. Super thoughtful and unique, and the service was great!! Ray was wonderful and professional. The space was quaint and romantic, lovely date energy. Lots of ingredients put together that you wouldn’t usually expect, as in we had to google a few things, and that creativity is what made the experience a bit fun and exciting as well as romantic and classy :)“

“Visited Bistro 45 for the first time tonight to celebrate my husband and my 15th anniversary after reading positive reviews. The food and service were exceptional. Every dish was cooked perfection and was super flavorful. The gazpacho was so complex and delicious. The calamari was so tender with the most unctuous spicy tomato ragu. My chicken and my husband’s pasta were both stunning. And the pineapple upside down tart with coconut gelato was unbelievably good. They made a special presentation of our dessert to celebrate our anniversary too. Our waiter was funny and attentive, and the owner made a personal visit to our table at least twice. This was possibly one of the best meals my husband and I have had in years. We cannot wait to return.“

“Stumbled upon this place after googling Cajun food in Pasadena. Looked good so I went in. Food was great. They are not breaking new ground on unexplored culinary territory or anything, it’s southern, but it’s done well, quite well actually. Everything had loads of flavour, the fried chicken was salty and wonderful. The bbq shrimp was pumped up with creole seasoning. The angel biscuit was a nice and fluffy biscuit, pretty good, but I found myself wishing it was as served with some honey butter or some sweet element. Salty honey butter would be great. Oh and great prices on the food too.

The service was fine, friendly, attentive, etc.
the restaurant was very bustling too, I swear everyone in there was yelling, made it quite hard to talk to the people I was in town seeing. But oh well. You can talk after.

“Hello This is a good news/bad news review. We frequent Only Place quite often. We probably average about 3 times a month. But it's not unusual to go a couple times in a week. Your food and serving staff are excellent. Among our favorites are Whitney, Bronwyn, Hanna, Jose to name a few. Whitney is especially great! Now the bad news. We were in last Friday and were shocked with the unexpected bright lighting. It was uncomfortably bright. Nobody needs that much light!! And considering the average age of your customers it's even more important to keep the lighting flattering. We had to move from our booth because it was so disconcerting. Please please please change the bulbs in the overhead lights. If you have to squint to see the bulb it's TOO bright. We loved the family atmosphere of Only Place. The new lighting level ruins the atmosphere. We're begging you please return to the previous pleasing level. Thank you“

“Oct 2026 •• I've eaten here a handful of times in the last couple of months, and never had a bad experience! The service has always been top notch - they're very accommodating especially with my elderly parents (in wheelchair and walker) even on busy nights.
This weekend, I notice that there were a lot of multi-generational families eating and it was nice to see. Food is great and reasonably priced (as reasonable as it is with prices right now). A lot of standout in food: pot roast, the small plates and appetizers, among others.

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had!
