“I have been coming to Oji for a while their service is always great, this past time their was a small confusion with my order but they fixed it right away can’t blame them it was a group of six people and it was a busy Friday night. The food overall is very delicious I have never had any complaints they try to stay consistent with their recipes. This sushi spot also has good Happy Hour specials you won’t be disappointed with their sushi, sushi rolls, and drinks I recommend it if you ever have a sushi craving.“

Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. “I came into Yuki Sushi in the Sheraton wanting Lychee Martini’s for a group of friends. Sean- the bartender- went to the hotel pantry and Googled a recipe to make us a round of Lychee Martini’s that were not on the menu. I applaud this outstanding customer service, and Sean for his initiative and time to do this for us. I am so impressed by the service at this hotel and we thank you Sean!!“

The house salad was healthy (not just iceberg lettuce) and had a generous portion for one person. My friend said it was super delicious - Sunset roll, blue crab roll, and miso black cod were on point flavor wise. Only negatives were that the seaweed was a bit chewy (not super tough though) and the soup slightly salty. The staff was kind, friendly, attentive, and patient - hard to come by these days. “Came here with high hopes and was not disappointed. Had to ask for the omakase since it was not on the menu. There's the 100$ level and the boss level for 150$. I honestly dont know what the difference was even though the very nice wait staff tried to explain it to me. It was just a bunch of japanese words lol. Anyhow I went yolo and got the boss level and it was the best 150 i spent that day. Every dish was mostly perfect except for the dessert. They need to up their dessert game.“

“AKASAKA. WOW. I was on set and got hungry so me & G3 went to the sushi joint that’s literally tucked away and VERY IYKYK (if you know, you know). All I gotta say is that the Yellowtail Cut Roll got me dancing. The hospitality was great, we were given Iced Green Teas on the house because we were waiting for our to go orders. I gotta dine inside soon & get the real experience.

“Tozai Foods Market is where we go to buy authentic Japanese food and supplies to make certain Japanese dishes. They have a cooked food section that has bento boxes for a quick tasty meal and fresh sushi and sashimi. We also can order sushi platters for special occasions. Amazing service too!“

“Great local sushi spot with stone decent pricing!

Seating is very limited and the menu gives off a bit of a dated feel but you really can't argue the classics when they're done well.

Sushi rice had just a bit of tang and was light and fluffy.

Dishes were presented very well and our server was thoughtful and cautious enough to make sure our table wasn't overflowing. We ordered about 6 items and by the 3rd plate things were crowding up.

Blue crab avocado roll ($9) - A little heavy on the Japanese mayo and rice but it made for a great presentation on the plate it was on.

Tempura mixed ($9) - 3 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of veggies. I'm on the fence with this one since I really enjoyed the presentation but felt like the batter on the shrimp was heavy and the veggies were mostly extra starchy items.

Mini spicy tuna bowl ($9) - This was a pleasant favorite! Just the right amount of heat and a decent amount of tuna over that delicious sushi rice. The first couple of bites where the cold tuna contradicts the warm rice was like being able to eat that feeling of walking on the warm sand and letting the chilly ocean water cool you off.

Amberjack/Hamachi Tuna ($5/piece) - This was interestingly a lighter flavor than what we were familiar with. The cut was thin but blanketed the rice with just a small swipe of sauce and a dab of yuzu paste on top. Playing perfectly well with the tangy rice but also all being a star of the bite while being clean.

Grilled Tuna Belly ($12) - This was the star of the table. Lightly grilled with a bit of crispy edges, seasoned and topped with garlic and micro greens and paired with a dipping sauce on the side to choose how heavy or light you prefer to dip.

Tempura Ice cream ($7) - Couldn't leave our first visit without trying a dessert item. Classic fried ice cream that is wrapped with pound cake and rolled in their delicious tempura batter. Saving room for this is a must if you grew up demolishing these in the early 2000s.

Hidden gems are great to find and it feels like this place has a lot of classics that give you a homey feel where you don't know where to start. Just dive in and make sure you mark off the ones you've tried because there are a good amount of dishes that were of value and quality here.

“Hidden gem of an authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi market. The entrance is located in the back of a side driveway. Though this market is small, I carries fresh sushi, sashimi trays ready to eat. Plus they have a kitchen made to order & ready to cut sashimi at your request. I'm also amazed to see the varieties of different raw fish, uni from Santa Barbara and raw scallops; all at reasonable prices.
They also carry cute Japanese stationary, frozen and regular food items. Definitely this is a place I heartily recommend.“

“I ordered food to go and I loved that there was no wait. They prepared my food quite rapidly. I was greeted with a smile upon entry and offered a menu. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and two salmon hand rolls. The quality of the food is really nice (fresh) and the price is right, especially the quantity. This has become my new go to sushi place in the SGV.

“There is room for dine-in, though I usually grab takeout. They sometimes use part of the seating space to store extra things, but it is a small location, and I understand the squeeze. All their food is delicious and at great prices.
If you are in Altadena and craving sushi, this is a great local place to grab it.
Sometimes, I will grab sushi from here and grab boba next door at YinYang.
