“Stay away from this hotel! Our experience in one of their rooms left me sick and completely ruined our trip. The room reeked of mold and dust, had poor ventilation, and severely affected my health. It made my breathing difficult, worsened my allergies, and caused lung issues. I spent nights coughing, congested, and unable to sleep. We couldn't adjust the air or heat because the forced air smelled strongly of mold and mildew, leaving us either too cold or too hot. To add to the discomfort, the windows were covered in condensation. I felt sick and exhausted the entire time we were in that room, and it only got worse as time went on. But it wasn't just about the room. We were in town for a comedy festival, excited to attend shows featuring top headliners. However, our anticipation turned into disappointment. I fell ill during the first show, had to leave one early, and missed two entirely. Unfortunately, the tickets were non-transferable with no refunds, resulting in a significant waste of money and missed opportunities for once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Choosing this Hilton seemed logical, being one of the closest hotels to the main venue. However, we were shocked by the low quality of the room, especially considering it was on the executive floor. Although they moved us to a slightly better room on the last day to salvage some sleep before our departure, it was too little, too late. Our entire trip had already been ruined. While most of the hotel staff provided excellent service in the restaurant, at the door, and front desk, the poor quality of the room's environment was not their fault. The only issue we had was with the decision to assign us that room initially, the delay in moving us, and the lack of a refund for the entire stay. We ended up losing both money and experiences due to the room making me sick. Beware! You never know if you'll get a decent room or a sickening one at this hotel @hiltonuniversal“

“My friends and I stopped by this Starbucks in City Walk since we saw on Yelp and Google that they close at 2am. Other Starbucks closes at 8pm or 9pm so we decided to come to City Walk since my friend wanted his coffee. If you're a AMC Stub member then you should use your free ticket to take advantage of not paying full price for parking. This Starbucks location is on the 2nd floor now instead of the 1st floor in its old location. This Starbucks store isn't big, I think it's meant for just people to get their drink and relax outside in their outdoor seating area or to walk around City Walk. My friend got his black coffee and my other friend got the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. They enjoyed their drink but it did take a while to come out when they weren't that busy. When we left the store at 10pm, they started closing their door and said they were closed so we were surprise since we thought they close at 2pm.
Kid-friendliness: This place is kid friendly since it's inside City Walk, you'll just have to go to the second level since this Starbucks store moved.
Parking: You have to pay to park at the parking structure.
Wheelchair accessibility: You can take the elevator to the 2nd floor to get to Starbucks.“

“One of my favorite restaurants ever. The meat was seasoned so expertly and was so tender. Mussel toast was INCREDIBLE. Their sourdough was out of this world. Staff was knowledgeable and guided us in trying many interesting wines. This place was amazing!“

“Probably rank it somewhere between 4 and 5 stars so let's round up to a 5. Got 2 sandwiches, the jambon (ham) and the Daniel Special (with prosciutto) with the latter a little saltier and richer. But both sandwiches lay on an almost perfect baguette lathered with rich butter. Every ingredient seems to be of top quality that creates a delicious sandwich. The other plus is that they offer half sandwiches!“

“Great cafe. I came here again recently and ordered a macchiato (traditional) and it was excellent. Was very pleased, because these can be hard to find in LA done correctly. You can tell they care about coffee here and the service and atmosphere was very nice. I haven’t tried the food yet, but overall great addition to the neighborhood!“

“Got egg sando and iced mocha less sweet. Love how egg yolk was not overcooked but overall it was too salty for me. I just ate only eggs and left egg paste and bread because it’s really salty that I couldn’t finish them all. My iced mocha was still too sweet for my taste so I might try no sugar or syrup next time. Very friendly service and nice ambiance.“
“MAKISUPA (est 2024) is Silver Lake's brand new coffee bar located right across the street from Blair's restaurant and adjacent to Camelot School. Their indoor has an atrium-style seating area where staff serve coffee drinks. Its tranquil atmosphere definitely attenuates the stress in your work. It’s my first time here and ordered a Cold Brew. It was perfectly made to my liking.
Service was on point and staff was nice and competent. Prices were very competitive. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a free parking behind the building and surrounding neighborhood.
Overall, I had a good experience and I recommend this coffee bar. I’ll definitely come back.“

“We loved our visit to Camel this morning. I’ve been out of the city for a while and I’m happy to see such a unique shop pop up. It reminded me of Star Wars inside ? obviously desert themed. Super sick. Love the seating upstairs. But most importantly the staff were very pleasant and the coffee was so good. I love when everything works in unison at a shop like that. Perfect americano. The pastries are great also.“

“Cool coffee shop space in echo park with delicious coffee. The food is great as well. I always get the Laveta and recently tried the Andante. Very tasty. Also the prosciutto toast was divine as well. Very LA spot, and on the weekends it can get very busy so keep that in mind.“

“Republik Coffee is as solid as it gets. It has good food, good coffee, and a good ambiance, which makes it a great hang out spot. The breakfast burrito, an almond danish, and a hazelnut cappuccino. It's not a large breakfast burrito, but I felt like all off the ingredients were good quality. The danish was good, and the cappuccino was solid as well.“

“Came here with a group of 5 and tasted the tofu donuts and the matcha soft serve!
Good:
- Tofu donut was super unique, I couldn't tell that it was tofu
- The soft serve was amazing- so creamy and not too sweet, and the serving size was large enough for 2 people to share or maybe even 3!
Bad:
- Long lines! Super popular place so you'll wait about 10 min for your order outside and there's limited seating
Overall this was a fun hole in the wall gem to find!“

“My favorite coffee spot in LA. Their Vienna latte is top tier but my favorite drink is the buttercream latte. It literally tastes like a werther’s caramel. The parking lot is TINY but there are meters around. The shop is also small with just 3 tables so it really is more of a grab and go place than a hang out.“

“I already had a problem trying to keep myself from going to Lou's every weekend to snag one of those delicious pastries, but now I've moved to the neighborhood, and am even closer. Danger danger! Lol. I can't say enough great things about Lou - The French On The Block. As everyone says the croissants are even better than the ones in France, the lattes are fantastic, and the service is also incredibly warm and personable. This place truly lives up to the hype, and deserves every bit of its success. 🥐✨😍“

“This is the best matcha in LA. I get a dirty matcha with oat milk and their homemade lavender syrup and it’s insane. They use ceremonial matcha too! The texture of the drink so so silky and amazing. A must try. Not expensive at all and you can get stamps to work towards a free drink! ?
It’s also a dream if a vibe in there.“

“Open Market catered a wedding reception I was coordinating in October, and they were wonderful. Their restaurant is one of the bride's favorites, and they were great. The food is delicious, and I'm working on getting my husband over there soon. They couldn't have been more accommodating and flexible during the planning, and they were straight pros at the reception. As a planner, I love caterers that are easy to work with and easy for my couple's to work with, and it was a great experience for everyone.

“I stopped in to try the coffee and check out the shop. The coffee itself was good and they had some decent food options. The atmosphere is nice, nothing too over the top. Lot of folks on their laptops, but not overly crowded. The employees were super friendly and courteous.

“New location. Still a magical oasis...just bigger! Great service with friendly baristas. Reasonably priced iced americano. So much cozy seating. This place checks off all my boxes for a dreamy place to come work. Ambiance + cozy. Not only does it have planty, jungly decor, it’s partially outdoors, but covered with fans so it’s never too hot.“

“Our new breakfast spot! This place is a vibe in decor/music and is dog friendly. They have a small menu of sandwiches, omelets, crepes and my favorite, their parfait. Coffees are made to perfection with many flavors offered. Serving sizes are reasonable and everything is delicious and presented beautifully, even artfully. Staff are mellow and kind and create a welcoming vibe. 10/10“

“Everything I’ve tried thus far is a 12/10. The iced gentle giant is sooo good if you like a cardamom spiced note. I just branched out, and tried the iced magic latte I believe with oat milk. This oat milk is top tier, no separation, it’s so smooth. The Cinnamon Roll is the best I’ve had from the tangy cream cheese frosting to the pillowy soft roll itself. Everyone there is so nice & treat you with such genuine kindness. Being new to this area, and finding a gem like this place is so comforting in this big city. They really put the ✨craft✨ in craft coffee. Definitely try Jurassic Magic, you won’t regret it.“

“We stopped by DAMO on a whim one Saturday afternoon. Given its popularity, we weren’t surprised by the line. It was so packed that we could barely squeeze to the counter to order. We got the matcha latte and strawberry matcha latte with cream top. I was very impressed that they whisk the matcha in a matcha bowl for every order. The matcha taste is definitely much more defined! A little pricey for a drink but given the effort in each one, I think it’s worth it as an occasional treat. With the crowd, I’d say the place is good for buying something to go, but maybe not for studying.“

“This place is very understated. They clearly want to deliver high quality and don't make a big deal of it. The only thing I would change Is the coffee ratios - I think the flat white has too much milk but that's a small point (I don't know what the espresso to milk ratios are in their other drinks). Maybe an ounce or two less milk would be good? I am really glad I found this place.“

“Giving a five stars is because it’s a Taiwanese restaurant. Happy to taste some home flavor!
It was my first time visit this restaurant in the morning. I ordered pan fried pork buns, you tiao, iced sweetened soy milk, and a fan tuan to go. I highly recommend fan tuan because the taste is actually the same in Taiwan. For pork buns, not much flavorful. The soy milk is pretty good actually!
I will come by lunch or dinner time to try different menus!
*update on 5/6
Went back to try the lunch menu. Ordered a won ton soup and a beef noodle soup. I believe won ton soup with sea weed and some pepper would be better! As for the beef noodle soup, three huge beaf with great soup, better have the noodles with the soup to get more flavor!
Willing to try the other dishes on the menu.“

“The frappés are creamy, flavorful, and packed with boba goodness. Whether you prefer classic milk tea or fruit-infused concoctions, there's a flavor for everyone. The taiyaki – (fish-shaped treats) are crispy on the outside and filled with a warm, sweet filling. If you're craving a satisfying and delicious treat, give Boba Sound a shot.“

“Great spot for a healthy bite in the heart of Santa Monica. It was my first time there and I had to kill some time and ordered a matcha and acai bowl while I did a little work. Both were great and the other food I saw leave the kitchen looked good as well.
The really great part about this place was the super friendly staff and what I assumed were the owners. They were super welcoming and it seemed like a lot of the patrons were regulars and well known to the staff.
It's nice to see a community like that in such a busy part of town. It shows the quality of a place when the residents embrace it and it becomes part of the fabric of a place.
I hope to come back again soon!“

“The place has a cozy vibe with great coffee and friendly staff. The seating is comfortable, and the Wi-Fi is reliable, making it a good spot to work or relax. “Initially I was skeptical of Onething coffee because it just recently opened, but I am so glad that I took the risk. I was really pleased by the recommendation the baterista gave me. The male baterista recommended that I get a Korean Black Raspberry Ade. It's sour-sweet almost tasting like traditional Korean tea. This is going to be my new daily shop to stop by before work.“

“Rolled in half-wired from LA’s usual madness, looking for a breather that didn’t come from a barstool or a vape pen. Found it here—served in humble plastic to-go cups, no pretense, no flair.
The kava? Earthy, numbing, like chewing on tradition. The kratom? Smooth and clean, a quiet little lift that doesn’t ask questions. No clout-chasing, no synthetic vibes. Just low lights, ambient beats, and people who get it.
Prices were solid. Staff didn’t oversell. I grabbed a full gallon to go because some nights, you want to keep the peace with you. This isn’t a “scene.” It’s a soft rebellion against all the noise.“
