“Dinner at the Village Bakery was wonderful. We had great service (we were greeted and sat immediately, and waiter came over immediately and continued to check in on us throughout our visit). Drinks and food came out quickly and all was delicious. We ordered the Woodside cocktail, Chicken Caesar Salad, and the Bakery Burger. All great. Ambiance and decor was appealing and the noise level was lively but not too loud that you couldn't have a conversation. It would be nice for a date night or meeting up with friends for a nice dinner. There were only two of us when we dined, but I saw larger parties in the additional dining area if you have a special dinner with more people. I recommend making a reservation as it was very busy - we went on a Thursday night. Highly recommend.“

“We went to Sundance to celebrate my husband's birthday, and this OG place did not disappoint. The vibe was lovely. The service and timing from our waitress, Ashley G., were outstanding. Complimentary freshly baked bread. Free mud pie (ice cream cake) dessert for the birthday boy. Both of our steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The veggies were still crisp, and the garlic mashed potatoes were to die for. Their Ceasar salad was perfect with crisp romaine, perfect dressing and cheese ratio, anchovies, and crunchy (not hard) croutons. Lastly, their drinks were so good we had to get another round. This place is a solid choice for a nice night out. PS: Don't forget to grab some Andes chocolate on your way out.“

“Delicious warm bread to start the meal. Two of us had the lamb chops with a chimichurri sauce they were tender, delicious, and perfectly cooked, one medium and the other medium rare. They were also kind enough to split a Caesar salad for us. My husband had the homemade tagliatelle (recommended by our server), perfectly al dente. We ended our meal with a lava cake, oozing with melted chocolate, my new favorite dessert.“

“My family and I came by 3 weeks ago and they were great. Awesome atmosphere the service was great. The owner was helping out. They make great use of the space. The food was terrific. We ordered two godfather burgers, an impossible burger and sliders. Everything was to order. Having an impossible option was awesome. We can't wait to come back. I think I will ask for my bun toasted but other than that I have no complaints.“

“So far, I’ve had the lentil soup (freakin’ de-lish!!) and a combination personal pizza. The flavor was a delight to my palate! I totally recommend velo*city pizza. Get in there and try them out! You WILL return for more! I met Phillip yesterday and when he learned that I am a musician, songwriter/performer with a current release, he immediately expressed genuine interest in my music. In fact, I believe that he downloaded and Play-listed my song “St Francis” right on the spot, and then he shared his delight in hearing my music with the lady who was also working with him behind the counter. You cannot buy this kind of energy he expressed! Phillips’s reaction to my music made me feel so good inside. I was humbled. I am going to request DrGlyn Reece of the MothFM network of radio stations to give a shout out to velo*city pizza! - Myron Edwins“

“I visited this amazing biscotti place. Their biscottis and cannolis were awesome and really good!! The owner was super kind and friendly. I think he is proud of his art. They became one of my favourite bakeries ☺️ I am lucky to have this nice place:) The best biscottis and cannolis I’ve ever tried!!!!“
“As an update, it's worth calling out how much the current owners have improved this shop. It's cleaner, brighter, the service is fast, etc. They clearly care and are putting in lots of effort and attention. It's always had good beans and coffee, but everything else is just better now. Top notch place, check it out!“

“What’s not to love? Crepevine’s extensive menu and quality food hasn’t changed in the 10+ years I’ve been dining with them. It’s a friendly atmosphere where you can casually enjoy a savory or sweet crepe, and many more. My usual is the Tuscany crepe and I love how I can get potatoes AND salad so I can feel a little healthy, haha.Vegetarian options: At a quick glance, every section of their menu seemed to have veggie-only entrees.“

“Antoine's Cookie Shop is hands down one of the best cookie destinations in the Bay Area! From the moment you arrive, you'll likely encounter a line - but trust me, it's absolutely worth the wait. I've tried numerous flavors here, and each one has left me thoroughly impressed. However, there's something truly special about their original chocolate chip. It's incredibly buttery, bursting with flavor, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. One bite and you'll understand why people keep coming back for more. Now, let's talk about the price. Yes, cookies here can add up, but let me tell you, the taste is simply unbeatable. You're not just paying for a cookie; you're investing in a culinary experience that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight. The workers here are quick, efficient, and always ready with a warm smile, ensuring that your visit is as pleasant as can be. Despite its smaller size, the shop is cozy and inviting, with the added bonus of a microwave to warm up those delectable treats - because who can resist a warm, gooey cookie? In conclusion, if you're a cookie enthusiast seeking an unforgettable indulgence, look no further than Antoine's Cookie Shop. With exceptional flavors, efficient service, and a cozy atmosphere, it's a true gem in the heart of the Bay Area.“

“What should I do in Japanese restaurant while some americans are talking too loud?In a situation where fellow diners are being too loud in a restaurant, it's generally best to handle it with tact and politeness. Here are a few steps you could consider:1. **Self-assessment**: First, check if their volume is indeed excessively loud or if it's a normal conversation level for a public place.[I put the earplug on to protect my hearing.]2. **Move Away**: If possible, ask the restaurant staff if you can move to a quieter table.[This is a small place.]3. **Communicate with the Staff**: If moving isn't an option, you might consider speaking to the restaurant staff or management. They are usually trained to handle such situations diplomatically.[Staff is busy and understaffed even for bringing dishes to the side of our desk.]4. **Direct but Polite Approach**: If you feel comfortable, you could approach the individuals directly. Do so politely and calmly, expressing that their conversation volume is a bit high and is disturbing your dining experience.[Some of them speaks Chinese but they just pretend to ignore our complaints. ]Remember, every situation is different and requires a judgement call. It's important to stay respectful and considerate in your approach.[I am wondering what else I can do to deal with this situation?]“

“The cutest little dessert shop in Los Altos. Has the best cake and very yummy drinks. There is no longer any indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating with shades. My favorite is the strawberry and cream cake and it is by far the best one I've ever had. Service is quick and just a grab and go kind of place where you pick up your cake and find a place to sit down. Since the seating is outdoors on a Main Street there is the ambiance of cars and people walking by.“

“The portions are generous enough that I always know I have leftovers for my next meal. The hostess is the daughter of the proprietor and she is bubbly and very helpful, especially if you want recommendations.Update (2024): The food and service are still fantastic. The portions are still large and if you are in a large group and let them know that you're doing family-style, they plate the rice and roht separately -- very helpful.Sidenote: Kids love roht! And the kid-size sherbet.“

“Solid. Just solid, really good (and substantially sized) baked goods. ? I got their breakfast bar, their pork and shrimp Mondo, their chicken and shiktake mushroom Mondo, and a chocolate chip cookie and their lox Sammie. “I don’t usually like falafel but I love the falafel from here- it doesn’t taste greasy at all & the toppings they use are very flavorful & fresh! I’m not a vegetarian but the serving sizes here are quite filling & the flavor combo of their toppings with the falafel is very satisfying! I don’t think I’d ever had falafel dishes quite like how they do here, in a really good way! There isn’t seating so this is more like a take-out spot. Perfect for if you’re looking to grab something to go. Service is always really friendly & super quick! One of our favorite spots to pick up lunch or a light dinner! I love their pita pocket, baklava, hummus, and mango milk!“

“I’ve been gluten free for 15 years, and it has been rough. But I have made the most of it by searching for gluten free treats everywhere I go. I’ve had gluten free pastries in dozens of cities including London, Florence, Madrid, Sacramento, Lahaina, and Austin. Other than the now shuttered Helmut Newcake in Paris, Sweet Diplomacy is my favorite of all time (and only 20 minutes away!). If you have tried baking gluten free you know pastry (choux, puff, flakey) is really hard to do. This place gets pastry and cakes as close to wheat flour as it gets. I enjoy all of the offerings but I’m most impressed by the pastry. The cream puffs OMG. And today I tried the tiramisu for the first time (it knocked my socks off). The coffee is excellent, and I love their cupcake varieties and cookies but my stomach is only so big.I personally do not reach for the vegan offerings but this is because I don’t need to (give me butter!!). If you have restrictions they have nut free and vegan options.I’m super impressed by this, especially knowing the difficulty of GF baking.Dietary restrictions: 100% Gluten free. Vegan options. Nut free options.“

“I used to visit this place when it had the name, “little sheep”. I guess that my last visit was more than 5yr. I thought that this restaurant is closed. So, i’ve used MuMu hotpot in Foster City. One day before my today visit, i saw that the restaurant has a new name “happy lamb” and has a lunch menu. When i visited that i found out that the restaurant runs by the same owner with the different business name. ( even same waiters )I like the lunch menu portion. It was good for me and my wife. The restaurant has some kind of self-serve bar for some sauces, little sour salads, and ice cream. I thought it was free, but it wasn’t. It was less than $2 per person. I liked it.I will go this for hotpot from now on.“

“I love the vibes of this quaint, very French cafe - it just feels so authentic. Service is quick despite being fairly busy and the wide menu means you can always get something that you're craving. The food itself is pretty good but not particularly outstanding - for example, the croque madame sort of just fell apart from the softness of the bread and the wetness of the bechamel. However, the pastries look good and seem affordable - they're next on my list to try when I return!“

“Best takeaway option for vegan gluten free (celiac friendly) food that I've found. Have gone back several times and the food is consistently delicious. “We ordered for delivery through grubhub. The delivery was decent and everything a good shape, but they forgot to bring miso soup I got poke bowl which tasted very good. The pumpkin croquettes was very tasty too. My wife ordered miso beef which she did not like because it was very spicy for her, however I did enjoy eating them next day. My wife did not like chicken karaage. This was all dark meat and I wish they would let you choose. Because she ended up being hungry. I was on the edge of 3 or 4 stars, but I think they prepare good food. Overall, I think we may order again but with caution.“

“Delicious cheesecake and lovely store! Unique sour cream layer which balances out the cheesecake layer perfectly. So so good. Don't just take it from me, multiple local high-end restaurants serve Namesake Cheesecake, so obviously this is the real deal! The store is a great place to buy gifts for others (and to treat yourself!) - beautiful alpaca shawls and blankets, olive oil, jewelry from local artisans. “They serve some darn good food. Ordered the oxtail and chicken combo and everything was cooked to perfection. Oxtail fell right off the bones and the chicken was super flavourful.Service here is going to knock a star off though. It looks like there's a decent amount of staff, but no one seems to know what they're doing. Took forever just to get seated! “I had lunch here for a business meeting and was surprised that it's the only Japanese / sushi restaurant in the Bay Area I've been to that has traditional tatami rooms for dining where you remove your shoes and let your feet dangle in an opening below the floor-level table. “This spot is my favorite Cuban restaurant in South Bay! I've been going here for years and have never been disappointed. The ambience transports you when you walk in! It's a great lively restaurant for date nights, anniversaries, or even a post work dinner with coworkers. Whether you're sitter by the bar or their more intimate dining room, the vibes are immaculate and the servers take good care of you! We sat by the bar and went an hour after they opened on a Wednesday night- they weren't too busy quite yet, but soon picked up. They brought us house bread and we ordered the croquetas and shrimp ceviche to start. The ceviche is good balance of tanginess and spicy. It's served on bread soaked up with the sauce, but somehow not soggy, which they nail every time! The shrimp was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. The pollo croquetas were a special that night and absolutes melted in your mouth. The aoli was an excellent addition to this dish. All the flavors come through even without the sauce. For our main course we ordered arroz con pollo served with my favorite, plantains! The chicken was tender and melted in your mouth. It was well seasoned and as always the flavors were dancing on my tongue haha. We got the plantain crusted goat cheese salad with delicious sherry vinaigrette! It was light and fresh and a great way to end our meal. I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to explore authentic Cuban food :)“

“Really cool hideaway type location! I am vegetarian and I ordered the wrong type of veggie sushi. “3.5/5, no wait on a Sunday morning, but service was slow. Food was good, but the coffee cake was a bit of a disappointment. Prices are more on the expensive side.Had the chorizo sweet potato hash, Mexican chocolate coffee cake and bottomless coffee. The hash was really well made, I enjoyed the mix of sweet, spicy and umami flavours that were mixed into the dish. The aioli was light and not overpowering. Great dish overall, would give it a chance before they swap it out!The coffee cake was a hard pass though. Perhaps their signature blueberry one is better but the special Mexican chocolate one is dry and bland. All I got was a mouth full of butter. Would have liked a richer cocoa flavour or even a sweeter chocolate note.Service wasn't the best. Had to be pretty proactive about grabbing the server (especially to refill my coffee!). The food also took a while to get out.Overall, with the exception of the coffee cake being overly hyped, not a bad spot for breakfast/brunch.“
“BethAnn did an excellent job for the cake for our daughter's wedding at Mountain Terrace in Woodside! The cake was in a naked cake style with lemon pucker up flavor. It was just the way the groom and bride requested it! BethAnn was easy to work with and accommodated their schedule for the tasting as they lived out of the state. We would recommend Studio Cake for your wedding!“

“Try the croque madame! It makes for a delicious and decadent lunch and comes with a good side salad. They also have a tasty cheesecake. The coffee/drinks are just OK for me and the hot chocolate was disappointing - definitely skip. Good almond croissant and chocolate croissants as well. “Name of the restaurant might have changed to "Pupuseria El Salvador" as the old sign, which you can see in old photos, has been replaced. I didn't know what to order and I didn't see a menu so I went with typical Salvadoran food which is what everyone else was eating. I asked her to recommend a soup and a pupusa and she gave me what might be sopa de res and cheese and pork pupusa. Soup had a nice flavor to it, a bit oily, and pretty good beef (not overcooked! Yay!) The pupusa is excellent. Slightly burnt on the bottom to give it crunch, soft on top, and nice flavor. The pickled cabbage was good too. There was a large group ahead of me (does everyone eat at 3:30pm?) so the food took a while. She apologized for the wait and was nice about me not knowing what to order and my inability to speak Spanish.“

“Recently had the best experience with Chef Jillian. She came to our Airbnb and did a full day personal cooking “class” for my husband and I and:1. The process to book was very easy2. She had such a wide variety of recipes to choose from3. She was prompt, professional, deeply knowledgeable about eating for optimal health. She was also just easy to talk to and fun. It was just us 3 in the kitchen for 5-6 hours and there was never an awkward moment.4. The food we made was SO good. We are meat lovers but 90% of what we booked with her was plant based and it opened my eyes to enjoying vegetables in new ways. Our focus was to learn how to make some new, very healthy dishes that were also good for meal prep and the experience was truly 10/10. Cashew cream was my favorite discovery!“
