“As a fellow chef; Getting to taste and witness Jillians skills for our retreat was an absolute honor. Not only is her food delicious but it felt deeply nourishing on every level of our beings.
She is just so on point with how she plans and coordinates everything and her helpers were also a joy. It just brought so much peace to see her calm, sweet and boss presence command the kitchen and create meal after meal of delicacies for all of us. I can truly appreciate her because I have also been a private & retreat chef for many years so I know what it takes to deliver consistently as she does.
I believe that the energy of the people who handle and create food impacts the way it is digested so she checked alll my boxes for what I need in order to trust & receive someone elses cooking (I’m quite biased to my own most of the time). I will absolutely choose her next chance I get!

Got the pad see ew, yellow curry, and crispy pork fried rice. Pad see ew 10/10 no notes, yellow curry an 8, the fried rice is a 9.5.

100/10 would come again. Reasonably priced, monies worth and bellies full. 🤭😋😋“

“I found this bakery when I was looking for a place to purchase alfajores and I was so happy to have found it! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and my first visit was nothing but a very nice experience. Two young men behind the counter seemed really friendly and helpful. The other customers in the store at the time seemed very happy. I came for alfajores today, but I will definitely go back for more alfajores and other goodies!“

“As always, superb food with a lot of Greek influence. Tried for the first time their beet appetizer - excellent with flavor mix. Lavraki - fish or lamb is great choice. But what makes the place stand out is the professional yet warm service - so rare these days.“

“Late December 2025 visit:
Dropped by on a Sunday morning when we visited the Cal Ave Sunday Farmer's Market. A bit hard to locate as the shop front didn't scream 'bakery' at us and we walked by at least 3 times looking for the address.

The young man helping us was very friendly and helpful in explaining the flavors to us!

We picked up 2 focaccia breads in black takeout boxes and ate them after a hike the next afternoon. Tasty but oily. Didn't find any truffle flavor but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

Fun memory made better by the staff and his opinions on the savory focaccia bread.
The shop had cake in jars and cookies available as well.

We accidentally messed up our order when we placed it through the app, and she jumped in right away to fix it without any hassle. “Found a gem! They have freshly made Sfogliatella that was awesome with all its crisp flaky layers and lemony filling (ate it so fast that I forgot to take a pic). Finally found a place that makes them perfectly in the US!

Their anise biscotti were really good too. The right level of crunchiness, unlike the hard rock that are often sold elsewhere.

The panettone was moist and fluffy—the way I love!! The price was quite decent for the quality. Hope they’d make some with almonds and almond crust~

They also had veal stuffed ravioli (only sold during thanksgiving and Christmas months) that we haven’t tried yet.

“This is a takeout only place and their falafels are VERY GOOD! The fries and hummus were just okay. I ordered Heaven's Pita Pocket and it was HEAVENLY, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! So savory for a vegetarian dish. Great texture that melded well with the sauces in this Pita Pocket. The Home Made Fries were okay and the Hummus was okay, maybe ⭐⭐⭐. I'd recommend coming for the Falafels and will be returning just for that!“

Armando was our server and too went above and beyond for us as well, evening splitting a complicated check to us . The food was outstanding, the pies to die for. You order from the screen as soon as you get in, and the options they have is quite impressive. I stuck to some typical flavors and was really happy with the salmon ume one. I usually get mentaiko, which is a spicy tarako, and the tarako seemed like it was cooked and not raw? I wouldn't recommend the tarako if you're expecting it to be like mentaiko. However, it was really good and even though I ate it the next morning, it was still really delicious. I'd come back for sure and would recommend this place.“

“From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like regulars — warm, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. Service was flawless all night: timely drink refills, thoughtful answers to menu questions, and spot-on recommendations that made ordering easy and fun.
The sushi is insanely fresh. Every roll and piece of nigiri tasted clean, perfectly cut, and beautifully balanced. Whether you’re into classic sashimi or more creative rolls, everything is done right. The menu is also impressively broad — not just sushi, but tempura, grilled dishes, and specialty items that clearly show how much they care about quality. Personally, I’m a big fan of the sake kama (salmon collar) — rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere strikes that rare balance of traditional and relaxed, making it ideal for date night or a special dinner with friends or family. We didn’t do a tatami room this time, but even the main dining area felt cozy and authentic. There’s real sushi culture here — not just good food, but the full experience.
Parking and reservations were easy (a huge win in Palo Alto), and I left already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for excellent sushi, genuinely kind staff, and a place that truly delivers on quality, this is it.“

“Best soon dubu I’ve ever had in the Bay. This could rival any place in LA’s K-town and is miles better than anything you can find in East Bay.

The broth is so deep, savory and flavorful that you can taste it in the tofu, which soaks up the seasoning beautifully. Also, I could taste that they might season their mushrooms and beef before boiling it in the soup. These are small details that make this place really special.

It’s super busy on a Sunday afternoon but one server still managed to ask if we wanted refills on banchan. I didn’t expect that so that was nice!“

“1st time in Cali , this place was a 3 min walk from my hotel . I had the adult grill cheese. It was delicious. The service was great and the prices were not bad at all . I definitely recommend and will be returning next time i’m on the west coast .“

I’m no expert in Jamaican food but I can definitely tell that they pour effort into their food and it pays out well!

I personally like their ribs and oxtail the most.
The fried platter can be skipped in my opinion.“
