“What can one say about Boxcar that hasn’t already been said - the coffee (espresso in my case) is the best in Boulder and the pastries are the best in the state. That’s all great, but what most reviewers are hesitant to bring up is that the, yes super friendly, staff takes an almost manic pride in delivering an un-rushed customer experience, to the point of noticeably longer than industry standard wait times, not only for the queue (exorbitant chit chat at checkout), and drink preparation (ostensibly in pursuit of high product quality), and most oddly; whisper-volume name callouts for completed orders, as if speaking the guest’s name audibly above the noise of the shop would imply impatience. Does any of this make me come to this shop less? No. We can love a thing when its virtues outnumber its flaws.“

“My wife and I came here for the tour and found it quite enjoyable. We sampled A LOT of tea and found many new favorites which we purchased at the gift shop. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. Answered some questions we had. The tour was a little short, well for me haha because I wish I could have seen more of the inner workings. Our guide though did an awesome job teaching us about the different stages and lines. Overall an easy 5/5.“

“This is the greatest place on earth… Ok but really, this place is 10/10. The staff is incredible, the tea and coffee SLAP, and this is one of the coziest places to chill at. Literally, Pearl Street and Boulder would turn to trash if it wasn’t for Trident. 10/10, best store/cafe in Colorado and the entire South West. Support this amazing place!“

“Ruzo is a great little neighborhood coffee shop in North Boulder serving espresso drinks, yummy chai, and lots of decadent decaffeinated options, not to mention chocolate covered strawberries! Plus they showcase the artwork by local artists. Kamala, Berenice and Christian are always so warm, friendly and welcoming!“

“I was in recently and I stumbled while carrying my drink. I spilled my entire coffee on a table and the floor. I was so embarrassed but they were so kind. While I was trying to clean up they told me not to worry about it, asked me what I was drinking, and brought me a replacement drink.“

“Just needed a caffeine pick me up and the lady at the counter was as lovely as she was helpful. She recommended me a pour over coffee that I truly regret not purchasing a bag of whole beans. The atmosphere was calm and cool and could definitely imagine myself coming here to work out of my home office. Thank you again for a damn good cup of coffee!“

“One of the best coffee shops I have visited recently. The café had a warm atmosphere with stylish décor and comfortable seating. I ordered a vanilla latte, and it tasted absolutely delicious with the perfect creamy texture. The service was fast, and the overall environment was calm and inviting.“

“The coffee is good. But what's better is the sun when it hits their giant wall of a window. It's like that scene in Chronicles of Riddick when they escape from prison and the sun beam is coming towards them, scorching the planet. You gotta get your coffee and get outta there - ONE SPEED, MY SPEED - if you wanna survive.“

“Great espresso and super friendly staff, I love the variety of beans they offer. I don’t consider myself a coffee snob but I feel like each of their roasts has a unique flavor. I also love that they offer you some sparkling water for free when you order a plain espresso shot.“

“I'll have to admit my expectations were not high for getting a coffee here but to my pleasant surprise the coffee was really good. The service was excellent, very pleasant, peaceful location too. Small seating outside but a quiet part of this strip mall. A really nice server inside made the experience really great! Thanks you“

“Fantastic shop, I’ve tried many boba shops over the years and only this one and one other actually makes good boba in my opinion, but the other one is very far away. I’m a regular customer and the people there are so sweet, great variation in sweetness levels of the tea (though not very consistent) and lots of options with good savory and sweet food. Wishing this business well!“
“Amazing selection, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere... This is my favorite coffee shop on the entire front range. Sweets and pastries available, they also have a bar! The outdoor seating is perfect for bicyclists about to embark, or returning from epic climbing.“

“No lie this is for the discerning in all things coffee, matcha, breads, pastries, dry goods. Why?
Depends if you care or know the difference. If you don’t scroll past nothing to see here.
The beans, the grind, the temp the methods for the coffee. Sourcing, mindfulness you name it the coffee and matcha has it x’s 10.
So the flavor and complete experience is bar-none and I’m from Portland OR. You could be in France it’s that good.
Then if you like being not-poisoned with nonsense in your breads like fake folic acid etc this is your place. Almost nowhere else to find this available.
Great indulging in over the top-notch croissants and scones and cookies etc and know I’m not eating seed oils and therefore not going to experience negative digestive and other physical symptoms.
Sitting in the courtyard is really stellar as well.“

“I got an Arnold Palmer after an almost 4 hour hike — with watermelon lemonade instead of regular lemonade. Amazing and refreshing! Then they had a deal on burritos so I got one with egg, sausage, bacon, cheese, and tators. Phenomenal! It’s a nice little place and I’m excited to go back!“

“Thank you for making my day, with something you do everyday!“
“Amazing coffee. These guys know their stuff when it comes to the proper roast for any bean. I don't know of any other local roaster that is getting single origin coffee from a specific plantation. That's what Ive been calling micro origin when I describe it to my friends. Then you add the Red Cherry Project on top of that! Amazing.“
“We had an excellent stay! The hotel was amazing, breakfast was awesome, and the trail system around Boulder that leaves less than a block from the hotel is beautiful. Shout out to Dominique who was very kind and provided fantastic customer service.“
“Nestled on Pearl Street, this quaint coffee shop in Boulder exudes a timeless charm. Its interior is a delightful blend of old-school coffeehouse and contemporary art student vibes. While the Americano was expertly brewed, I was a bit surprised when the barista didn't recognize the term 'pour-over coffee.' Nonetheless, it's a lovely spot to grab a cup and soak up the local atmosphere.“

“Talk about a man who knows how to make coffee! This is truly the best Starbucks location for miles around. Charlie has an actual passion for the coffee concoctions and always goes out of his way to make the drinks custom and to taste. I struggle every time at any other Starbucks for the consistency that Charlie offers every morning. He not only cares to make the drinks how you order them, but offers suggestions and details about how certain elements blend together like cocoa powder and vanilla. I love starting my day here and Starbucks is lucky to have someone like Charlie working behind the counter. Charlie should be training all the baristas from here to Denver. It’s unbelievable the various ways each Starbucks location will make the same drink. Charlie does it best. Thank you!“
