This spot has been high on my list of restaurants to visit ever since they reopened after COVID and remodeling. The interior was so charming, with a classy vintage feel that I absolutely loved. The menu definitely had some good choices, and while everything we ordered was good, we did agree that we’ve had better. Mostly we thought my fiancé’s ribeye could’ve used more seasoning, but the truffle butter that he had with it definitely added to the flavor. The pasta with my chicken parm was a bit cold, so it must’ve been plated before the chicken. One of the highlights for us though was when the waitress came around with a platter to showcase their desserts - it helped us make our decision on the banana banoffee and chocolate cake. The banoffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was a little dry. Overall, I do think this is a great option to have in downtown Waterbury, and I would still come back to try some other dishes. We came on a weeknight and were impressed to see that it got pretty busy at peak dinner time!“

We were seated promptly upon arrival in a corner booth which was out of the way and perfect for our date. Or server was attentive and answered all of our questions on the menu. We ordered a martini and Pinot noir with a large meatball appetizer. The drinks were very good and the meatball was amazing. Honestly l could've been our meal for the evening. “Under new ownership! We stopped in for a meal and I ended up being highly satisfied, started with bread and an oil garlic and herb did, that had a lot of aroma and fine taste. Bread was hard shell soft inside perfect to soak up the oil. We ordered espresso martinis that were excellent in taste! Then the salad, great color to the greens and crunchy croutons with a great Cesar dressing. The meals Fra Diablo calamari in spaghetti and a shrimp and scallop special with broccoli rabe cooked with knowledge and heart. Finish with a Sauvignon Blanc. So perfect I came back to have my daughter’s first birthday party in 2/2024, and once again it was amazing. The service was impeccable, we had Nancy running our room and she was phenomenal. “Ordered a large pepperoni pizza for pick up, i drove down there and the older women was in the middle of making the pizza as i walked in. I paid for the pizza with younger lady there and i had a comfortable seat as the pizza cooked, i like to get the pizza fresh and hot as soon as it comes out of the oven to bring it home still hot for the family. The inside of restaurant looked clean and cozy for dine in, tv's playing and holiday lights on. The pie with one topping and tax came to $21.47 which is alittle more than i would like to pay for a one topping large pizza but all in all it was cooked well and tasty still when i got home. Something to note is that if you want to do a half one topping pizza, it still cost the same amount for the one topping cost which i don't particularly like when restaurants do that.“

The atmosphere was very welcoming - We honestly compared the vibe to Goodfellas/Encore in New Haven, except more casual and easy-going, if that makes sense. “We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere!
