Have oatmeal and yogurt with fruit etc. Hot egg meals and sandwiches. Impressive espresso machine. Our little group meets regularly there. We try other places now and then but always return to the favorite.

“One of the most original food experiences I've had in a while. The white asparagus appetizer was unique and delicious. The tuna was served to perfection. cooking it in hot butter at the table was fun and fantastic. Pallet cleanser was unexpected and so classy. Dessert was not needed after the food. I'm glad I ordered it. Delicious and a cappuccino a perfect ending to an incredible meal. My server was awesome. She was engaging, informative, and very efficient. From the friendly staff whom immediacy greeted us upon arrival to tbe owner who made a special trip outdoors after personally cooking our crepes in the kitchen. We tried their chicken pesto crepe w/ tomato and spinach- absolutely delicious ! And also the salmon, cream cheese, tomato, caper, red onion crepe. Yum! We also sampled their lattes both hot and cold brew and a marvelous bacon cheddar biscuit warmed up and buttered ! They have sweet crepes as well and many non- crepe options. This Cafe will not disappoint! A beautiful menu with many selections of fresh, health conscious choices as well as some slightly more indulgent pasterie options! “During lunch break from having to serve jury duty I found this coffee shop down the street and decided to pop in. The two behind the counter were very friendly and inviting, and the special grilled cheese with tomato or bacon with soup was PERFECT . the chicken corn chowder came out piping hot and didn't even need any salt or pepper. I'm usually skeptical when someone has to make my coffee instead of me doing it, but unlike dunkin donuts the gentleman made it just right! they seem to have a familiar and friendly customer fan base, and I would definitely go back again.“

“Owner was amazingly kind. We had forgotten our wallets and she gave us our drinks for free (provided that we would come back and pay). Inside was cozy and warm feel, with comfy couches and chairs. The iced tea and lemonade we ordered were amazingly refreshing on a warm summer day.“

“I work close by so I am at Cilantro several times a week... and as a self-proclaimed "foodie" I highly recommend this local hot spot for delicious coffee, super tasty chicken salad, raspberry/almond scones, "yoga" cookies, matcha cookies & their peanut butter/ coconut bites! I also frequently get their matcha or golden milk lattes, both are masterfully made & delicious either hot or cold!! I usually see Helen, but everyone there is also as friendly as she is and on-point with my order. “What a welcome addition to Guilford Center! I've been hoping for a great European-style cafe with character to hang out in, Ciao Angie absolutely delivers.

The interior is very clean, roomy, and exceptionally well-lit, surrounded by large windows letting in natural light. So far, the hours have been very convenient, providing breakfast, lunch, or late afternoon bite options until 5pm. The tables are large enough to share with a small group or just spend a few hours working on comfortably with a laptop. There is a covered outdoor patio as well, perfect for those of us with energetic children.

They offer a full espresso-based coffee bar and serve 4 Jacks cold brew as well. The home baked cornettos (an Italian spin on croissants) are nice. There are breakfast/brunch options available until 11am, with the clear star of the show being their polenta bowl, served with a sunny side up egg, pancetta, and arugula. Fantastic. For cafe-haunters who extend their stay past noon, there are a multitude of panini sandwich options, as well as gelato for an afternoon pick-me-up.

To get there, the most convenient location is the lot behind the front row of Whitfield street shops, or simply cross over from the Green and slip through the walkway between Prime on Whitfield and South Lane Bistro.“

“We had oysters on half shells for antipasto and a lobster fettuccine and a branzino (which came with sauteed spinach and purple potatoes) for main courses, then finished with a berries cheesecake.\n\nNow the oysters were so good that we ordered another four. Then my husband had a bite of the fettuccine and told me, it's so good he felt like flying with wings. Which made me wonder what he meant, so I had a bite. The parsley worked magically with the lobster, and the fettuccine was done perfectly. And the lobster was succulent and sweet.\n\nNow back to my branzino. I actually never liked branzino the fish, mainly for its boring texture and taste. I ordered it just because I felt adventurous today, really. But this one surprised me. The crushed pistachios somehow worked wonders with the branzino, hah! And the sauteed spinach, as well as the grilled purple potatoes, were mind blowing. I will go back, if not for the lobster fettuccine, only for the spinach and the purple potatoes.\n\nOh, and we had a side of sauteed broccoli rabe which was no less miraculous than the spinach and purple potatoes. We agreed that this is a restaurant we'll visit again soon.\n\nThe dessert was a neat finish to the fulfilling meal. This was a happy, rainy evening.\n\nOh and we loved Francesco. We had servers who would constantly make remarks or gestures that left guests feeling bothered and uneasy, but Francesco was just right. He's so cordial and effective, always there when we thought to look up but never intrusive or inhospitable for the sake of being hospitable. I guess he's also part of the reason we felt so comfortable dining there.“

“The best coffee in New Haven! Located on the entry floor of The Graduate Hotel, Poindexter Coffee is a true barista coffee served with a smile.

The interior design is warm and inviting and makes you want to bunk in all day with your family and friends.

It has a limited food menu but what they offer pairs beautifully with your coffee. A must try is the cinnamon monkey bread - it’s incredible - make sure you get it heated up. A great one to share.
