“I started going to Athena’s when my son and family first moved to Maitland over 17 years ago. Since 2018 I went there at least once a week. Having to move back to Connecticut, I miss their chicken so much. My grandchildren know when I come to visit that is the first place I stop to eat. Their chicken is always so delicious and moist. I wish they would open a place here ❤️“

My wife went for lunch today with our children and mother-in-law Gracie and Tenisha took care of us them today. They made sure our kids always had drinks, etc... My wife felt both went above and beyond for a party of 6 (4 children), made sure we had everything. Hopefully, management recognize both of these ladies for an outstanding job they did today.“

“We stopped in before our two hour drive home, and we tried a few menu options and everything was great! I think my son and I finished off half of a bottle of the cream sauce lol I think I'd be fine just ordering that like soup. the fried chicken has enough flavor and crisp to the skin that it was a mellow combination! My husband also remarked that it was clean and well kept. We will definitely drive for this again.“

“This is one of my favorite chain chicken places. They’re generous with their seasoning and the sauce is good. In this visit they gave us free food, so a plus for me. I like the spice level and how you can choose it, even if the spiciness is inconsistent. The drink is pretty expensive though.“

“Tried the chicken bites at Dave’s Hot Chicken and they were seriously addictive. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with flavor. The spice level had a real kick without overpowering the taste. Perfect for sharing, but honestly I didn’t want to. Definitely coming back for more.“

“Our family loves Huey Magoo’s! The chicken is lightly breaded and the sauces are so yummy. My husband likes the Magoo’s sauce and I like the honey mustard. We first discovered them 15 years at the UCF location when our daughter was attending and we have been fans ever since. Everything at Huey’s is great, from the tenders, bites, wraps, sandwiches and salads.“

The longest part of my experience was ordering; the time from getting a drink to grabbing a table, I already had my sandwich and sides prepped and presented. “Gritty hidden gem in the ‘hood. KKC tucked away inside this gas station might look rundown but the food makes up for it. Jefe running the chicken counter is friendly and eager to please his customers, always hooks you up with just a bit more to show you how much he appreciates all his customers; this keeps you coming back every time. Don’t let the local area scare you off too much. Worth it for a true fried chicken lover!“
