“I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Poor sap was hanging frozen in a meat locker. I'm glad I put that imagery aside because this place was amazing! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.“

“Very nice chill date night restaurant on Sunday following our weekend in Miami. Vibes were chill laid back yet romantic and simple. Food was very good without all the fire and loud music, we’d experienced everywhere else we’d gone. Service was also very good, I think our waiters name was Frankie, very helpful in making our selections as well as attentive.“

“Zak had been on my list since day one of my trip to Miami, and I finally made it there for brunch. The wait time was about 30 minutes, so I opted for a to-go order. Here’s what I tried:
• Avocado Toast: A well-curated dish. The thinly sliced onions, lime, and paprika dressing were a perfect combination.
• Tomato Bisque & Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Easily the best I’ve ever had. The sandwich was perfectly crisp, and the tomato dip elevated the flavors even further. I savored every bite.
• Mushroom Toast: This one didn’t hit the mark for me. The pairing of the bread with the mushrooms felt off, and the mushroom topping was excessively oily. The cheese didn’t complement the dish either. While it wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t for me.
• Mango Cheesecake: Inspired by seeing others order it, I decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did. Every bite was delightful. The star fruit garnish was a pleasant surprise, adding a unique and delicious touch.
The ambience is bustling yet inviting, and the service was impressively quick. I also appreciated the eco-friendly packaging.
Finally, the Matcha Latte was a solid choice.
Overall, Zak is a must-visit if you’re in town!“

“Old Days has been a consistently good spot, but I’ve noticed a slight decline in food quality over my last few visits. The first two times I went, everything was excellent easily a five-star experience. However, the last two visits felt a bit different, and I suspect they may have a new chef. The drinks are still phenomenal, which is a major plus, but the food has changed slightly.
For example, the beef short rib was still very good, but I preferred the previous version with the rich gravy rather than the jus it now comes with. The latte was solid, no complaints there. Overall, I’d rate it a strong four across the board. I’ll definitely be back, but I do hope they bring back some of the flavors that originally made this place stand out.“

“Phuc Yea is truly a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, we were treated to incredible service—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly staff made our experience unforgettable. The food was phenomenal, with dishes that were bursting with flavor and creativity.
And the cocktails? Absolutely next level! Each drink was crafted to perfection, balancing unique flavors and fresh ingredients. Phuc Yea nails the vibe, delivering an atmosphere that’s both lively and welcoming. This spot has quickly become one of our favorite dining experiences. Highly recommend!“

“Took my girlfriend, on her recommendation, and the smell from outside was already delicious, and the waiting time with a packed house took no time at all. Food was a blessing, and also took no time at all. The quality of the meals for the price and the amount you get filled with makes this easily the best Thai restaurant in Miami.
Vegetarian options: All dietary options options apply here.
Parking: Parking availability would have to rely on you finding a spot in the residential area a street ahead, but the walk from there is at most 5 minutes.“

“Fabulous food and service was 5 star. A true gem in beloved Coconut Grove. Has a club feeling of being off the coast of Italy on an island yet close to a city. Beautiful atmosphere without being over the top. Service was perfect without being overly solicitous. A must for those who know.“

“food, service, atmosphere, well above average. restuarant phone responsiveness, poor. no one answers or returns voicemail messages. ownership needs to address this deficiency.. the in person quality of service should extend to the phone level if they want to bring the quality of service to a higher level with new ownership.
thank you.“

“Stepping into Pastis Miami feels like a delicious escape from the vibrant chaos of Miami and a warm embrace back into the concrete jungle of New York City. The ambiance hits you first—the soft glow of the lights, the buzz of chatter, and the unmistakable scent of perfectly cooked French fare.
You’re immediately transported to a Parisian bistro, but with that New York edge. The food is stellar; from the classic steak frites to the buttery escargot, it’s all executed with a precision that would make any NYC chef proud.
It’s a reminder that while Miami might have its tropical allure, sometimes you just want to sink into a good meal that feels like home. Pastis is a slice of nostalgia, a love letter to the culinary spirit of New York that you didn’t know you were missing. Go there, and you might just forget you’re in the Sunshine State for a little while.“

“We had lunch at Atchana’s, a Thai restaurant, very pleasant, exotic flavors. It is located in the heart of Coconut Grove, on the banks of Grand Ave. We were very well attended, pleasant atmosphere, kind people and good food. The dishes are very well served, with exotic and spicy flavors, but delicious. It has indoor and outdoor environments, we preferred to stay in the air-conditioned room, it was a very pleasant lunch. I recommend trying the flavors, a good experience.“

“Omg hands down one of the best meals I've ever had!! husband went adventurous and chose the Braised Oxtail, I got lamb bolognese over gnocchi, insanely delicious. And our boys got the "Ragout" Sandwich. Look this place up. Sooo good !! We even ordered dessert to take back to the hotel for later (key lime pie and butterscotch heath bar bread pudding). I expect it to be just as awesome.“

“We stumbled in here for lunch, exploring the neighborhood. At first, I thought the menu for lunch was too small perhaps with too many ingredients for each dish. Clearly my mistake. This kitchen really knows how to combine ingredients for incredible flavor and balance. It’s clear that the chef has put a lot of thought into each of these dishes, without them being fussy or overly wrought. The sweet potato bowl was an explosion of flavors and incredibly satisfying. Even though we were full, I insisted on trying both desserts. The house made vanilla ice cream with rum was one of the best vanillas I’ve ever had and their take on the Pavlova, well, I would come back just for that. Maria provided knowledgeable and attentive service and the overall vibe of the place will bring us back for dinner soon, bravo, Flora..“

“Had a great experience there....Natalie was my amazing server. Asked her what she likes to eat there the most and she suggested the steak tacos her way and told me you can add an extra taco for an extra expense and it was worth it???. She had awesome work ethics, a beautiful smile that made you feel like you were there with a childhood friend, and a giggle that made you giggle as well....will request her every time I go.... Thank you Natalie...you made my night!!!!“

“Boia De is very special. Bold flavor with a delicate execution. The staff are humbly proud of their accomplishments and the Michelin Star is well deserved. The smoked muscles were delicious you need them. Steak tar-tar you must have. The gnocchi will change your life and the lamb could alter they ways of man & possibly change the world. No liquor needed here. Creative mixology with sake & Pilsner will make you happy. Desert a must… buy 2. Or 3.. Love from Mary & Peter“
