A recent Valentine’s Day return visit — this time with friends — reaffirmed many of the restaurant’s strengths while revealing a few operational shortcomings on one of the busiest nights of the year. Our first experience a year prior, seated outdoors, delivered an especially memorable evening marked by relaxed ambiance and attentive service. The latest visit, however, placed our party in a high-traffic area adjacent to the main restaurant flow. While the noise level remained manageable, the constant movement created a subtle distraction that diminished the otherwise convivial atmosphere. Service stood out as a highlight. Our server was knowledgeable, personable, and confident in his recommendations. His guidance led to an excellent wine pairing that complemented the evening beautifully and elevated the overall dining experience. The indoor ambiance offers warm rustic touches consistent with the trattoria concept, though it lacks the distinctive character and intimacy that make the outdoor seating particularly appealing. At the table, appetizers and desserts were uniformly excellent, showcasing the kitchen’s finesse and attention to balance and flavor. Entrées were widely praised among our group, and both my wife’s pasta and mine delivered exceptional flavor and execution. However, they arrived only warm rather than hot — a notable misstep for pasta service and one that slightly tempered an otherwise strong culinary showing. Taken together with our previous visit, Osteria Tulia remains a very good choice for Italian dining in Naples. While minor service flow and plating temperature issues surfaced on a peak evening, the quality of the cuisine, capable service, and overall experience continue to justify a strong recommendation.“

“Had a fantastic evening this past Tuesday. Not our first but as great as previous. Consistency is the key to success.. We were a group of four and each had a different entree. No complaints all around. Now for the service. Susie was absolutely fantastic. Her Italian accent is perfect even though she is not Italian!!! Delightful, funny with a great attitude. Even though she had several tables, she always found the time to make us feel special. My next reservation will definitely include a request that it be with her as the server.“

Owners are the most amazing native italian people and this translates fully into the most amazing food, you can feel the greatness behind this family, their expertise, knowledge and mostly their passion to make amazing food. Let’s start with saying they make everything in house and the ingredients are all non processed even for the most sensitive stomach. Everything is 100% semolina and the ricotta is also made traditionally in house. Nothing left over for the next day, everything fresh. You can taste the freshness in every bite. We had the Carpaccio and the bread. Wow, main course, the cassiaressce Piemontese,Ppardelle Bolognese, Linguini Pizzaiola and leta just say this is the best pizza i have had ever! Meatball pizza. “A friend from Italy who now resides in Naples recommended this place for good authentic Italian food. They did not disappoint!! We had shrimp fettuccini and veal cacciatore and shared. The flavors were Perfect! The salad was fresh, the bread was wonderful also. And the portions were large enough we’ll have dinner again tonight at home. So others here mentioned the “outdated decor”, I thought it very “vintage” & felt warm. Semantics guys! Whatever the decor…I went for the food and will return for the food! An added plus was the friendliness…from our hostess and server to even the busboy! Thank you for a wonderful meal, we will return!“

“Recently, I was with my family at the Coastland Mall in Naples, and we stopped at the food court to grab a bite to eat. I wanted Italian, so I went to Sbarro. There was a line of people. When I reached the front of the line, a young man jumped in front of me and placed his order. I showed him that there was a long line, but he just looked at me and placed his order. The server did not realize he had cut the line.But another server did. She came over and took my order. When I went to pay, she would not allow me to pay. She used her lunch credit to pay for my meal, and she insisted.Whether you like fast food at a food court or not, you have to appreciate the excellent service at Sbarro in the Coastland Mall food court. And the spaghetti and meatballs I ordered were piping hot, not overcooked or dried out. It was a good meal and I will go back.“

Having visited several times with both small and larger groups, our most recent dinner was a late Friday reservation for seven. A beautiful Naples evening allowed for outdoor seating, which added to the atmosphere. The overall vibe at Mercato is lively and engaging, and Bar Tulia fits comfortably within that scene. Service was a highlight. Our server was attentive, personable, and helpful in guiding the table through menu selections. The food remains the restaurant’s strongest asset. My meal—a meatless pasta dish accompanied by a Caesar salad—was well executed, with thoughtful presentation and solid flavors throughout. Others at the table echoed similar satisfaction with their selections. There were, however, a few logistical drawbacks. Our outdoor table, positioned close to the pedestrian walkway, felt quite cramped for a party of seven. The table itself was small for the group size, and as someone on the taller side, the seating arrangement proved somewhat uncomfortable over the course of the meal. The beverage program offers a standard selection of wines and cocktails—reliable and perfectly suitable for the setting, though not particularly distinctive. Overall, Bar Tulia remains a dependable stop for dinner while enjoying an evening at Mercato. With consistently good food, attentive service, and an energetic setting, it continues to earn its place among the area’s reliable dining options—particularly if you secure a table with a bit more space.“

“We stopped in after our flight from Jamaica for dinner. The food was delicious!! I had the cheese raviolis and a caesar salad. Hubby had the lasagna with a side of meatballs and we both cleared our plates. We also had the canolli and chocolate cake for dessert and they were amazing as well.
