“I photographed a wedding reception at Southbound's Peabody room for a couple that had eloped in Colorado earlier in the year. They had a drop-in, hors d'oeuvres and drinks setup, which this was perfect for, though I also know it's also suitable for sit-down dinners, live music and other types of events. Food was great, staff was friendly, what's not to like?

“So since we arrived to Dragoncon on Wednesday we have passed by Gus's famous chicken several times, I decided to treat the family. The wait time was about 15 minutes which is not bad at all.
We were seated and our drink order was taken which is nice. The food was great. Just the right amount of heat for us. I ordered the 2 piece dark meat platter that comes with Cole slaw, baked beans and white bread. I also ordered a side of mac n cheese. Side of fries and side of potato salad. The food was great. Our server was great too.
Where I was disappointed was when my son went to the restroom, another patron came to ask if the empty chair was taken, we said yes and it was ok but when an employee just grabs my son's chair and starts dragging it away without even asking. That kind of ruined my dinner. So thats why I gave it 4 stars. Other than thar it would have been a nice first time experience.“

“JenChan’s is a friendly neighborhood hangout with an amazing menu, friendly waiters, and a wide selection of games. The food is always fantastic and the drinks are always strong & cold. I would recommend the ginger margarita slushies, the fried mushrooms, and any of the pizzas!!!“

“The Food & atmosphere was so bomb! After ordering our food everything came out in a timely manner. The appetizers came out 15 mins after ordering and the food came out 15 mins after that. Made very fresh & hot! Nothing to complain about there. Now a few cons was how the drinks could’ve definitely been better. We ordered drinks with tequila incorporated in them and barely tasted any alcohol. Dont get me wrong I love a fruity tasty drink but that’s literally all I tasted was a very delicious fruity drink with a small hint of tequila. Our drinks were $18 each. For that price they definitely could’ve been a tad bit stronger. And another con would be the communication between the waitress & online menu. Online ALL their entrees says with ANY (2) sides of your choice. So while ordering our food the waitress went over the sides, including the lobster Mac & cheese. So I proceeded ordering my (2) sides one being the lobster Mac, which was very delicious btw. Everything was all good until the bill came, I was charged an additional $13 for the lobster Mac and a 20% gratuity fee for me & my husband. Mind you it was only 7pm. Nowhere on the menu did we read there’d be an up charge for the lobster Mac and a 20% gratuity fee. Now I don’t mean to sound cheap but 20% for only (2) ppl at 7pm is a lot to me. It wasn’t late nor were we a party of 5 of more. That 20% is a bit outrageous. That’s definitely something that should be posted on their menus, along with an up charge for the lobster Mac. The menu shouldn’t say ANY (2) sides of your choice if when selected a certain side for your meal it’ll be a up charge! That’s something else that needs to be stated on their menu.
Just to avoid confusion and making your guests feel like you’re pulling one over on them. I don’t go anywhere assuming anything. I like everything spelled out to me vs it not being listed at all then get hit with a high bill after I than sat there chilled, ate my food, had a few drinks and vibed out in your establishment.
Parking: If you want a close spot get there early! It gets packed the later it gets and the parking lot is shared with other restaurants.“

“Went to South City for an early dinner after getting off the plane and this place does NOT disappoint. Tried the Spicy Cauliflower and Fried Green Tomatoes and both were excellent. The Fried Green Tomatoes had goat cheese put on before frying and normally I am not a fan of goat cheese… this provided a creamy texture and brine that matched perfectly with the tomatoes. My colleague got the Spicy Cauliflower and the pairings of the charred Cauliflower with the spicy peanut relish was delightful and something I’ve never experienced before. The entrees were just as good. My colleague got the Shrimp and Grits and she said it was good- the shrimp looked amazing, but I am not a fan of shrimp and grits together (though I do love them separately). I got the Springer Mountain Farms Fried Chicken and it was so tasty- not the best fried chicken I have ever had- but the collard greens and mashed potatoes may have been the best I have ever had. The chicken was very good, don’t get me wrong, but overshadowed by the amazing collard greens that were seasoned perfectly with garlic and thyme. The mashed potatoes made me feel like I was having my grandmother’s mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. Finally, I had to try the Peach Pecan Pie… I took it to go and the fresh peaches, the fresh whipped cream, and the glaze… the only thing missing was the pecans (the pie filling was pecan pie filling… but sans pecans so I get what they were doing and it was still fantastic… but a pecan or two would have put it at a 10.). Emmanuel was our server and he knew the menu backwards and forwards and was very accommodating. Loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat. Especially to try the pork chop and spoonybread!“

“I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening and the restaurant had a brisk clientele. The waitress came to our table immediately and asked for our drink orders and brought them back very quickly. I ordered the above items and in less than 15minutes i had my order and it was hot and seasoned to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a quick wholesome meal, with all taste you remember from growing up.“

“Vegetarian options: Majority of the vegetarian options are sides, the appetizers, and desserts. The Vegetable platter consists of a variety of the sides that they offer. While the platter was filling and did taste delicious, I would not recommend if majority of the party is vegetarian or vegan as they do not have a separate vegetarian/vegan menu (that I am aware of or saw). So if you are vegetarian, your only option will be the platter.
Parking: Complimentary, but mandatory Valet parking where you can “pay what you want”. There is no fixed price for the parking. We offered to park our own car, but was told that was not an option in their parking lot.“

“Hattie B’s is famous for its Nashville-style hot chicken, and after trying it for myself, I can see why it has such a loyal following. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and while it packed more heat than I typically go for, I have to admit—it was incredibly juicy and full of flavor. The spice didn’t just burn; it had depth, which made each bite a mix of pain and pleasure (in the best way possible).
To balance things out, I also ordered a side of chicken, and this was where Hattie B’s really won me over. The crispy, golden-brown skin had the perfect crunch, and the seasoning was on point—flavorful without being overwhelming. If you’re someone who loves spice but doesn’t want to go overboard, I’d probably recommend going a step down from “spicy” on the heat scale.
Overall, Hattie B’s delivered on flavor, texture, and quality. If you can handle the heat, the spicy sandwich is worth a try, but the perfectly crisp chicken on the side might just steal the show. Would I go back? Absolutely—though next time, I might play it a little safer on the spice level!“

“Where to start? What a delightful evening and meal. The waiter, to start with, was amazingly attentive and kept up with us the entire evening. Also the owner came over and filled us in on the recent history. Liquor license is in now but I don't drink so that was not important. Let me segue to the food. OMG, the mushroom and goat cheese fondue with tomato jam was to die for. It was served in a cast iron skillet with plenty of toast. The sauce was so rich and creamy. To keep this under an hour and a half reading let me say my bride's steak was perfect along with the brussel sprouts and kale. Let me tell you about the pork chop. I like my pork chops to be medium rare if possible and it was perfectly pink inside. I try my best to get that look and I always overcome them. The sweet potato puree asking with the brussel sprouts was outstanding. The portions were very generous and couldn't ask anything better for a Monday night meal. OK, then there was the bread pudding. Oh, Lord, when I tasted the whiskey I almost fell in the floor. So, let me say to the people who has a bad time at the restaurant that they are hitting on all cylinders. I can understand a Karen or two that have nothing better to do than be haters, especially after the opening of the restaurants after COVID. I get it. Why not try to come back and give it another chance. They deserve it and you could use a good meal to chill out.“

“Our server was excellent! The atmosphere was great. The food was decent. I was tempted to try the shrimp and grits but the bbq sauce turned me off. I opted for a traditional breakfast that consisted of grits, toast, bacon, and eggs. It’s a quaint little place with a variety of dishes. It was my first time here but it will not my last.“

“If I had to sum my experience up in one word, it would be Astonishing. From the Pre-Arrival to the departure, everything about The Southern Gentleman (TSG) was amazing. Deciding to take my sistie out for her birthday, TSG appeared in my Yelp search results. Exploring the images and the reviews that appeared I decided to checkout the website. After falling in love with the menu it was a green light. I clicked the link to make a reservation and was taken to Open Table. The process itself was simple, easy, and to the point. Once it was booked I was able to send the info to all those in my party as they could add it to their calendars. As we decided to go on a Saturday at 2:15 pm, I called TSG the day before to ensure that when they closed at 3:00 pm we wouldn’t have to leave. As I anticipated, since we would be inside already, we didn’t have to depart while they switched over from brunch to lunch/dinner. The young lady who answered the phone was super pleasant, very vibrant, and understood my question. She provided first call resolution and further enhanced my excitement to experience TSG. Can you tell it was my first time? LoL!!! Finally Saturday was upon us and it was time to go. As TSG sits in the area with all the shops, parking wasn’t the easiest on the street, however, there is a valet option. TSG sits on the upper level so needless to say I was lost for a few minutes. 😂😂😂😂😂 Walking up to the restaurant, the scenery is gorgeous and the ambiance is immediately set. Beautiful clean lines, white drapes, open patio, glass front, I’m talking all of that and more. The space is infectious and truly draws you in. I opened the door and was greeted by a hostess with a huge smile and pleasant demeanor. She welcomed me in and asked how many. Once I provided her my name she showed us to our seats and the TSG experience was in full go mode. Taking a moment to get settled in our booth and take in the great artwork, eye-catching bar, and beautiful hardwood floors. I told y’all, astonishing. Mykieya approached our table and I was instantly amazed. Her smile, her warm introduction, her service first approach to taking our drink order, whew! Mykieya understands the art of providing stellar service which led to my astonishing experience. Ok. Now! Hear me out. We have gone through the Pre-Arrival - Awesome. I just brought you on my journey of arriving - Awesome. By this time I am on a Happy Service High and I haven’t even ordered yet. Speaking of ordering… Babeeeeeeeeeee!!! Hear ye, Hear ye! As if the service wasn’t enough, the nerve of management to hire a chef that literally knocked EVERY SINGLE DISH OUT OF THE PARK!!!!! I’m talking flavor, texture, blends and soul pleasing moments of pure bliss. Whew! Let’s talk food: For Appetizers, Mac & Cheese - Cheesy, Flavorful, Perfectly Done, WELL above any restaurant made Mac I have ever had. A truly homestyle, grandmother made experience. 🤤 Chocolate Chip Banana Bread - This secret dish was spot on. Sweet with notes of Savory and all moments of soft baked, well crafted goodness. 🤤 Deviled Eggs - OhEmGeeeeee. The Deviled portion (LoL) of these eggs was thick, creamy, well blended, well seasoned, and then… as if I wasn’t already in love. The gall of the chef to top it with crumbles of perfectly crisp baconnnnnnnnn. 🤤 Mj Drink, Sweet Tea - Hunni, the brew was Brewin and this tea hit the spot. Sweet. Southern. Stirred. Very Delicious. Very Demoure. My Main Dish, Southern Fried Chicken - 🤦🏿♂️ Why did I order this???? This dish stole my entire heart. The pancake tasted like my mother was in back showing off with that cast iron skillet. Crispy edges, soft middle, thick, and huge. This pancake was a showstopper all by itself. However, hold on because in comes the Maple Syrup. Whoa! The syrup was thin and rich. The thinness of it allowed the pancake to soak it up even better. Forget the fact that the chicken was well seasoned, well battered, golden fried, southern seasoned, and best of all… The Bombbbbbbbbbbbbbb. Yes! Forget all that as the pancake had and still (4 days l“

“I had the incredible pleasure of the Miller Union experience last Saturday. I run a small nonprofit meal ministry program in Gwinnett and I am a colleague of your Executive Pastry Chef's mother. Being from industry, but now serving in a different manner, I must say how satisfying it is to know that considering the major challenges presently in the restaurant industry, you have built a culture of service, professionalism, precision and family that is simply impossible to find. You were flawless on that night. I claimed time out of my busy schedule to treat myself, I didn’t have a reservation but was granted the best seat in the house, at the bar, on the corner, right at the service area next to the ticket stabber and the printer. You might ask, why that seat was so great... well, for the first time in 35 years I had no responsibilities being that close to the start and finish of an order. I knew I was in the right place to do something I'd never done before and that was to take my hands off the wheel and allow the environment to take control. I asked, who I believed to be the Sommelier (sorry can't recall his name)to order for me. Of course he would line me up with the best wines without sacrificing my mortgage payment, lol by my request, but I kept eyeballing those Sailor's Greetings passing by and had to inquire. The Bartender was "straight fire" and gave me the scoop... a reduction of muscadine wine!!!! WHAT!!! Anyway, the Pork Belly, the Field Pea and Peanut Salad, all amazing. When it came to the entree I had to pump the breaks on the house choice... I saw Collard Greens with the Pork Loin... being born and raised in the South, I had to know. The moment of truth, Wow! Okay I had to look this... Unicorn in the eyes. Now it's Saturday night so I didn't expect Chef Steven Satterfield to be present but low and behold, he was there. I couldn't see him because he was doing what he was supposed to be doing... Driving the Bus! So after an awesome experience thus far and a visit from who I believe was the FOH Maestro, Neal MaCarthy, it was on to the reason I was there… to experience the offerings of Chef Claudia Martinez. Her team did not disappoint. Again I left it up to the BOH and BAM!!!...the Doughnuts!!! Just phenomenal. So I wrapped up and called for my car and on my way out I was saluted by GM Vince Landi and informed Chef Satterfield had a moment and he was kind enough to greet me. Needless to say, I was honored and proud of know our industry's best days are ahead of us. Thank you Miller Union and Chef Satterfield for a night to remember and for continuing to carry the torch. “The chicken salad is worth every penny and I would highly recommend the white cake. I normally don’t like other people cakes because they taste like box cakes, but this cake tastes homemade. I’m not sure if it is but it is definitely better than any cake I’ve had in a restaurant.“
