“Once again, Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt Kauai is a winner. We come here every time we're in Kauai (which is almost yearly) to celebrate either a birthday or our anniversary. It never disappoints us. From the moment we arrive, we are treated like we matter. I always mention in my reservation request that we're celebrating something, and everyone from the hostess to each and every one of the wait staff acknowledges the occasion. And it's genuine! They also include a complimentary dessert (their incredibly decadent and delicious lava cake)! The service is friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive—couldn't be better. This restaurant has been one of our favorites for over 20 years and will remain so for as long as we're able to enjoy it.”

“This food truck is the best place for poké on Kauai! Charming relaxed atmosphere, DELICIOUS food at affordable prices, all next to an open building with great shops. Corn hole game for the kiddos set up near the covered seating area. All 8 in our group agreed that this was the place to eat! Visited 2-3 times during our stay. Highly recommend!”

“We ate at La Spezia twice in September 2024 and absolutely loved it! A couple of us had the fettuccine calabrese, which was delicious and huge – enough for two meals. We also tried vongole e gamberetti, spaghetti arrabbiata, short rib ravioli, and veal scallopini. We also took desserts to go—tiramisu, cheesecake, and panna cotta. All were very good. Every dish gets a thumbs up! Probably the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. And the service was top-notch. Considering the quality, priced are reasonable. If I’m ever back in Kauai I’ll eat there again. Tip: Make a reservation if you want to get it. It’s not a large place.”

“Looking for an ice cream treat near Poipu? You’ll find it in Koloa at Koloa Mill Ice Cream and Coffee. They offer about 30 flavors of which “Banana Mac” was my favorite. So much so I had it three days in a row!! They also have Shave Ice, pastries and coffee. The servings are reasonably priced, generous and the service friendly!! We highly recommend a visit and while there you can visit the other quaint shops.”

The local breakfast sandwich, croissantwich and Breakfast Burrito and so delicious, but my favorite by far is the Lomi Salmon Bagel....I crave it!!!!! Highly recommend!”

“We were in town from KC during the superbowl and wanted some bbq for the game. We are a bit picky and spoiled with bbq but D's hit the spot! We had ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, and brisket. Good portion sizes and great taste! All of the meat was the perfect level of tender without falling apart and had great flavor. The medium sauce was sooo good! A slow heat with a lot of flavor! Thank you D's for great food and friendly service! Don't hesitate and go get some delicious bbq in your life!”

“Wow!!!Admittedly, these are the first tacos I’ve had on Kauai but they are so so good. I ordered the grilled fish tacos and the blackened fish tacos. The fish is generously portioned and both were yummy. The blackened fish tacos were a flavor bomb and if I have time to go back, I will order all blackened fish. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Total for my four tacos was $29 which seems fair for two meals and cheaper than any other meal I’ve had here. 10/10”

“Went here our first day on the island for drinks and ended up getting dinner, too. The service was pretty slow, but the server was super friendly and attentive once she finally made it to the table. My wife had the mahi mahi tacos and I had the mahi sandwich and they were fantastic. We also had two drinks each, the last two were the lava flow (delicious) and mudslide (not bad, but not great). The views are gorgeous overlooking the ocean and the prices aren’t awful. For 4 cocktails and two entrees it was about $120 which is honestly one of the cheaper places near the beach.”

“This place was highly recommended by my patient that was part of a Facebook Group that posted about this place a lot and they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! Their menu includes: Truffle Burger, Veggie Burger, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Kenji Burger (teriyaki, ponzu aioli, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato & arugula), Misoyaki Fish Sandwich, Salads, Sushi Burritos & Bowls (loco moco, chicken katsu, misoyaki fish, and poke). There are 2 locations on the island”

We were finished and our plates were cleared but she. Ever returned. Finally a hostess noticed us sitting there looking around and asked if we needed anything. We said the bill, please and our server brought the check with a “have a good night”, and that was all. Kind of took away from the fairly good experience. The bus boys clearing dishes and water were very efficient.”

“Well we tried it. I will say it was the least expensive meal we ate. But the burgers are McDonalds size. They were ok, good I guess, but nothing special. The onion rings were good, but we only got 2 with our order of Frings. I would say if you are craving a small, cheap burger and there's no line, it's worth it. “The Prime Rib was enjoyed by my son-in-law, and I LOVED the Stung Honey Fried Chicken. The coconut shrimp were the perfect accompianment to the King Tiki Mai Thai. My wife loved the Asian Salad, but my DIL thought the Macademia Crusted Mahi Mahi was a bit dry. Service was SPECTACULAR, and the kids menu was extensive - our 3.5 yo grandson loved the grilled cheese sandwich with waffle fries, our 19 month old grandaughter loved the pasta with marinara, and there was also pasta with butter sauce, cheese burger sliders with waffle fries, and chicken tenders with waffle fries. The view of the pool and ocean from under the lanai was also terrific!”
