“This was one of our best restaurant meals over our ten days in Waikoloa, HI area. Food quality and preparations were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Open Table and Marriott seemed to be having software interface issues as booking the reservation proved to be much more difficult than normal Open Table bookings. With persistence, we successfully completed a Reservation and Confirmation after numerous attempts as it appears there was trouble connecting to my Open Table account seamlessly.“

“We had a fabulous dinner last evening. The manager, Tom, brought over our drinks because our waitress was busy. Three of us ordered the meatloaf which was Roy's signature dish and it was outstanding. We were comped the chocolate soufflé since we were staying at the Marriott Waikoloa. When my friend asked if she can have the upside down pineapple cake the waitress said there is no substitute with the free desert that was offered. Next thing we know the manager is at our table and our waitress is serving the soufflés. She removes one and places the upside down pineapple cake in front of my friend. Needless to say, it was a memorable night at Roy's. A huge shoutout to Tom the manager and Heather, our waitress.“

“On the beach at the Mauna Kea resort. The restaurant will validate your parking and you can go hang out on the beach afterwards or order take out while you’re on the beach. We got the poke, cesar salad with mahi, and a burger. All of it solid - but pricey, but you know that at a resort. Service is great and you can’t beat the view. Try the frederico which is a Mai tai with whiskey in it.
Overall not bad for above average beach food - just pricey. Would recommend for convenience if you’re going to hang out at the Mauna Kea beach.“

“This restaurant is expensive no doubt, but you get what you pay for! Food was excellent - get the lobster tempura and garlic fried rice for sure. The cocktails were delicious and the service was top notch! We would definitely come back for the experience!!“

“Totally awesome authentic burger place. My only regret was not ordering another burger. My sister had the Surf Burger and I had the Hi-Heat. On the drive back to our hotel, we just randomly kept saying what a great burger those were. Honestly surprised we didn’t turn around and go back for more.“

“Amazing meal out by the ocean at Browns. We had the poisson cru appetizer (raw fish) and ono fish special with asparagus, potatoes, and hamakua mushrooms. The food was fantastic. We had a reasonably priced bottle of Craggy Bay sauvignon blanc. Only downside was the downpour of rain just as we finished our main course. Very rare to have it rain that hard on this side of Hawaii Island. The staff was amazing at getting everyone out of the rain and reseated in dry areas. There was no shortage of pool towels to dry us off. The poor folks at the Luau missed the dancing. We will be back. Mahalo.“

“I loved the food. We ate at the bar and enjoyed the conversation of bartender Brandon. He was entertaining and attentive. We had the lobster tacos, poke bowl and shrimp cerviche. All were delicious. The margarita was a scrumptious desert. The lantern ceremony was also beautiful.“

“Always a pleasure to eat at Merida. We thought the food a bit better than we remembered. The hostess and waitress were excellent as well as the other staff. The sunsets and ocean view are very nice here. The kitchen cheerfully accommodated the member of our party with a number of dietary restrictions. Resort pricing but not exorbitant. Around $60 per person for us with one alcoholic beverage and one dessert for the entire party of four. We will go back during future visits.“
