“This place was a surprise gem we discovered after a day at Waimānalo Beach Park! The portions are out of this world for the price and the shaved ice was really good as well. Wait is a bit long but it’s all fresh/cooked to order and well worth it! Highly recommend this one!“

“My now husband and I had our wedding rehearsal lunch here on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Their restaurant was my first choice and they were so accommodating! We had a private indoor space with an oceanfront lanai to mingle on. Jenni, who is the manager, and her employees went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The plumeria buffet was delicious, the drinks and souvenir cups were amazing, and the restaurant had such a relaxed ambience with such a beautiful view for pictures on the patio! Jenni and her team were outstanding, and the venue is highly recommended!“

“TLDR: Melissa is AWESOME! But, if you are gluten free (ie no soy sauce with wheat) or allergic to mushrooms, you can’t eat here.

My husband and I combined have those allergies and Melissa was very kind to ask the chef if we could be accommodated. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible. Melissa was so respectful of how she informed us - aaaaaaand then offered us a complimentary cocktail (which was on point) and a reservation down the road at a nice restaurant that she knew could accommodate our allergies!

I don’t envy her for effectively having to kick us out, but she (and the entire staff) were so gracious to us. Thank you Melissa!“

“Food and service was extraordinary! Welcomed with Mariposa's signature ‘popovers' that simply melted in your mouth! Scallops were chosen as the main course-in two distinct dishes (one very rich and the other -creamy, curry and spicy). Presentation was exquisite-everything was prepared to ‘perfection' and tasted wonderful. Audrey was incredibly helpful and responsive (as were the other Mariposa servers). The setting, ambience, FOOD & SERVICE all contributed to an enjoyable and special birthday celebration. Definitely one of our most memorable lunches in a very long time! Mahalo nui loa!“

“Great little spot, wide variety of options from seafood to pasta to steak. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had the Risotto (super creamy), the lobster ravioli special (best ever) and the Tavern Burger (perfectly done and an out of this world bun). It was a Monday night and pretty slow inside, but more people need to be coming here, highly recommended.“

“Staff was super nice and always helpful. Luau was amazing and on site! Nice pool with hot tub. Waikiki Beach is literally out the front door of the hotel. Valet parking had my car for me everyday by the time I got downstairs. View from our room was absolutely amazing. Room was spacious and clean with housekeeping offered everyday of our stay. Free water bottles in room with filling stations throughout the hotel. Very centrally located so easy to walk to stores, activities, restaurants. would stay 100 more times!“

I’m not a seafood person so I got the chicken pasta and he tried snapper for the first time. Both of us were blown away by how tasty everything was. The portions were huge too! Out of all the places we had been to during our trip, this place is at the top. Even as a non fish eater, I loved it! There can be a wait, but it is well worth it. Try it, you’ll love it.“

Their small kitchen limits the menu choices, but what they offer is tasty and reasonably priced. The pleasant customer-oriented staff has made it serve as a home away from home for us, and we have always felt welcomed. If/when they leave, they will be sorely missed.“

“By far one of the greatest experiences from food to extremely exemplary service. We started with the tako escargot, then Mac nut covered fish and steak with frites. It was such an incredible experience we cancelled our Saturday dinner plans and came back for dinner. We come from big island and every time we come to Oahu, about seven or eight times a year, we eat at the merrimans. By far the best of the merrimans on the various islands. Absolutely lovely atmosphere, great tunes, spacious seating area but doesn’t feel sparse, very tentative staff who had our food and drinks ordered and served within minutes.
