“The birria was very good, except that I ordered two dishes and one order of tacos they only gave me one lemon, but I think that happens to all of us. Super recommended. In addition, they take the delicacy of giving you the shredded meat, which implies an extra effort that many do not make. “

My husband and I knew we wanted to do great and delicious mexican food for our wedding and we were struggling to find someone who could do that in a large venue setting, and was willing to travel to Janesville, Wisconsin. I found Rossy through tons of research online and so happy I did! She is so incredibly kind and we enjoyed taking the drive to Chicago where she cooked right in front of us a variety of options to try for our wedding.I know that my husband and I probably over communicated often in the 9 months leading up to the wedding with tons of questions and making sure all would go right. She was so patient and kind, communicated with us as we needed, and made sure we were confident with the day of.The day of was amazing! The set up of the food was great for a buffet for 220 people! It was delicious and was a HUGE talk even after the wedding from family and friends. “On November 17, 2023 I stopped at this Mexican restaurant and gave them a try with little to know chance right before my hair appointment and when I tell you one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in a very long time the food was freshly prepared the restaurant was clean and the customer service was A1 any time I’m in Chicago on the southwest side this would be a restaurant I would have to go to so for anyone reading this go here“
“I was winding down my night out with family and we had a major taco craving! We wanted to try something new (to us) that would also be open semi late and was not a full blown dine in.We yelped this and made our way over...this is in the neighborhood which means parking is not the easiest so it may possibly be a double parking blinker situation. It's a little tent with a grill and everything is made to order. There was a nice clip of walk ups and he cooks until no more folks roll up...so although Yelp says 11pm...if there are people ...they will be fed! Since it's in the neighborhood definitely want to be cognizant of not being rowdy.I had 2 carne asada steak tacos and a steak quesadilla! Flavors were on point! I ate a taco out of the trunk of my hatchback and had a quarter of the quesadilla...and was stuffed! Took the rest home and had a whole other meal!Fairly quick, tasty, no frills street tacos! Level of sketchy was mild but as in anywhere..when out later, you'll want to be aware of your surroundings.“

“Nice little neighborhood place. The hours are odd so you have to check if they are open. I think they close mon-wed. I found this place looking for queso birria tacos. For $15 you get 4 decent sized tacos with the consommé. Great meaty tacos, I'm a big guy and I usually could knock out 8-10 tacos. I could only eat 6 here. The guacamole was big enough for me and my buddy. They have a juice bar inside and we ordered off of the server's recommendation. She recommended a pineapple drink and it was solid. We ended up getting a second order of drinks for the road. They don't have parking but you should be able to find something across the street. Place is clean and the cook wore gloves. I appreciate when a place is clean and people are wearing gloves. The waitress/server was very helpful and had great recommendations. She was easy to talk to since I don't speak Spanish. There was a bunch of online orders and takeout which in my opinion is good. That means there's no old food, they sell it all and buy fresh. Bathrooms were clean. I noticed the table next to me ordered a latte and seen they had an espresso machine. I haven't tried the coffee so I can't talk about the quality. Just that they have an espresso machine. I like this place a lot. Very friendly staff, great food and great amount of food for the price. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you.“
“If there is a place to recommend in the southwest side it’s definitely Carmelo’s. I have been dinning in and doing take out since they opened and I have to say I have never had a disappointing experience. The place is always clean the staff is always pleasant and helpful. The food is amazing. They give you potato chips with a flavorful sauce. It’s not too spicy because my husband is able to eat them and he dislikes spice. The Carmelo flavored wings are my go to they are a decent size and come with fries. The burgers are perfectly cooked and they are not the simple burgers you see in most Mexican restaurants. They also offer sea food options which are just as amazingly prepared. The asada tacos are also very flavorful. The drinks are PHENOMENAL and they also have drink specials during the week. My most favorite part is the little patio they have and the bathrooms are ALWAYS CLEAN.Ps. They have a kids corner with table games.“

“Hidden gem! Tacos are full of incidents and full of flavor. Al pastor are side by side with the Al pastor from atotonilco. Asada tacos are delicious as well. Only thing I wish they would do is not chop up the asada into so small pieces. Other than that, visit this place and enjoy the great tacos! I wish I could give half stars because it definitely deserves 4 1/2 stars out of 5!“

Also recently tried there Carne Asada enchiladas with Mole sauce. Homemade Mole was blissful! My wife had their chicken enchiladas. Really incredible. They have this wonderful tangy cheesy chicken filling and she got the green sauce on top. Sumptuous! I’ve eaten good Mexican food all over the US, and in Mexico, and this place is a real gem. “Lucidos has THE BEST Al pastor in the entire city of Chicago . I've been to a few dozen taco places in Chicago and this is the best of the best Al pastor. On el trompo is a good sign that they'll be delicious. On top of the spit it a whole pineapple which tastes so much better a little bit charred and not too sweet - unlike using canned pineapples as some restaurants do. The service is very friendly and it's a casual ambiance. I will absolutely be back. Love this place.“

I strongly encourage you to try the pastor and the arrachera tacos, they were scrumptious! Their zanahorias were so good. To drink we had the limonada, horchata, agua de melón, y agua de fresa they hit the spot. For dessert we had the chocolate ice cream cone.
