“There's nothing that I like more than to see somebody with a lot of pride and happiness in their work. I think it made the food taste so much better. And let me tell you it was excellent. I was absolutely stuffed with the food we ordered and everything was so delicious, I wanted to come back for lunch after we had just finished breakfast. I want to try everything on the menu it was so good. We parked on the street but I didn't realize there's a parking lot right there. I didn't ask what type of coffee it was I just ordered coffee and it was smooth and flavorful and didn't taste too strong. Also ordered a dessert to go but I didn't get to try that. I guess this is going to be a regular place for me from now on. Absolutely loved it.”

“Small hole in the wall, family run type of place, in the best way!
Be prepared to wait outside, as there are only 7 tables and depending on weather it can get warm inside but the food is worth it!
They serve the BEST chilaquiles we've ever had!
We got sopecitos, chilaquiles with verde sauce and steak, the flavor combo and textures were perfect, the tortilla chips were still crunchy but covered in sauce and cheese, so good!
The cafe de olla is a must have! It's delicious and sweet but not overly so.
For the sensory sensitive weirdos, the long line outside and smaller interior was intimidating at first, but we only had to wait about 30 mins and once seated the service was fast and food was amazing, you forget about being so close to others.
Atmosphere 4 stars, only because the length and material of the table cloths were uncomfortable and trapped the heat under the table but the food and service are 10/10!”

“I go to this location quiet often, but I was extremely disappointed as well as angry with what I saw today at this location. (3/9/25 at 5:35pm) The 3 customers that were ahead of me placed their orders were first timers I found out. The young lady that was fixing their smoothies dropped a cup on the floor, picked the cup up from the floor then sat the cup to the side. As she finished one smoothie she pulled a fresh cup, then the 2nd smoothie she proceeded to pour it in the cup that she picked up off the floor. I told the young lady that took my order, so she then pulled the young to the side to tell her that I saw what she did then she looks at me and says "I'm Sorry" (I said to her): What do mean you are sorry, why would you do that, and why are you giving that to her, you need to remake that smoothie ...and guess what she did not. I'm just want to make people aware: Watch the people that prepare your sandwiches/smoothies or anything of that sort. It's not their stuff, they're not paying for it so they don't care. That was just the epitome of nasty and extremely unsanitary. She didn't have on a Tropical Cafe shirt, she had on a gray shirt, she may have been new, I'm not sure but we need to learn to do better when working with the public. Don't do things to people that you don't want done to you!!!!! FYI...the name on the ticket was: Shelia G”

“Amazing Mexican food! Indio is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever had in Chicago! I got the carne asada Gordita, Al Pastor burrito, and medium Horchata. Everything was delicious and filling. I will definitely be back again in the near future!”

“One of my regular stops. Food is always good and consistent. Staff is always friendly and get you served quickly. Upon entering you get chips and salsa & they take your drink order while you have time to review the menu. Chile rellenos and the taco dinner are my go to's. Always adding a side of grilled onions. Parking is street parking or a few spots in back of the building. A little challenging to park compared to a location with a parking lot. But never bad, Ive always found parking.”

All the pan dulce I got was delicious, but the conchas were my favorite. They were super soft, and the topping was not overly sweet. First off, the service alone deserves 5 stars. I came in with my daughter who is a VERY picky eater, and they went above and beyond to make sure she had something she actually enjoyed. That level of care and accommodation is rare, and it meant a lot.

Also — I have to say — this place was SO clean you could literally eat off the floors. Everything was spotless, which made the whole experience even better.

I had the Big Back Burger — and I’m telling you right now, just order it. Don’t overthink it. It was THAT good.

The Philly cheesesteak… OMG. Seriously one of the best I’ve had. It was juicy and seasoned perfectly!

The jerk chicken egg rolls? LISTEN… SO. GOOD. I’m still thinking about them.

Loaded fries were perfectly crispy (not soggy at all 👏, and the shrimp and grits… IFKYK.

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell this place takes pride in both their food and their customer experience.

“To be fair, it was about an hour before closing time. However, the older lady was very sweet and made our food very well and it was delicious. Her coworker on the other hand didn't seem to friendly. We wanted to add to our order and she couldn't even be bothered to stop sweeping to come and complete the transaction until the older lady had already finished making the 1st part of the order. I have worked in hospitality all my life. I know how she felt but if she want customers to return and ensure job security for her, she should be a little more friendly and willing to assist.”

My wife got a chocolate cupcake because it was our anniversary and she loved it! Our baby Benny got a m&m cookie and ate every last crumb. We also had shares donut and it was beyond fresh. The cake was moist and very delicious and hopefully they keep baking their cakes the same way because it was very good.”

“Well I like Lucky Dogs but this location on Roosevelt has the worst customer service. A least 5 times, where they get my order wrong even after repeating my order clearly. Sometimes, I’ve had to ask them to repeat the order back to me just to make sure they had it right. Some of their drive thru employees don’t listen well, nor understand good clear English. Some don’t speak good English. Once I ordered a taco dinner & the beans were spoiled. After a long day at work & getting home realizing the beans were bad, I was too tired to deal with it. They have gotten my beef sandwiches wrong, it happened again today. I wish they would open the one on 16th street again (rarely had any issues other than with newer employees), and the one in Broadview is decent (I’veh never had a problem with them other than their sign having pizza on it but they don’t sell pizza, lol!) my stars are for the food, it is usually all around good.”
