“First time ordering from this place and I was surprised when I was in their menu Chinese BBQ ribs! They were tender and well seasoned. The rice with chicken was great you don’t need any additional side with it since the rice itself is delicious.“

“Not crazy bot new system ordering food. They tell ya we will text you when your order is ready. We live 25 min. Away n don’t want food sitting there for that time while we get there…“

“Ordered the original Yao Yao fish, cucumber salad, and fried chicken wings with twist dough sticks.
The Yao Yao fish was delicious with huge portions sizes. We added enoki mushrooms, bean curd, and glass noodles. It can be very salty, so definitely pair it with rice.
I was disappointed by the fried chicken wings though. They were very skinny, all bones and no meat. We will not order that again.“

“I rolled in with a buddy and we dropped about $25 total. I went for the classic Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($8.50) —those wontons were plump and packed with flavor, swimming in a rich broth that hit the spot. My friend tackled the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup ($8.50) , and couldn't stop raving about how tender the meat was. We kicked things off with some Vegetarian Egg Rolls (3 pcs for $5.50) —crispy, golden, and gone in seconds. The spot's no-frills, but the service is quick and friendly, making it a solid go-to when you're in the mood for some hearty noodle action without breaking the bank.“

“The food was really good and flavor. The egg rolls were sooo good. There were some flavors i wasn't familiar with in the beef soup, but I got it Sichuan style. It was good, but whatever the little balls were had a very strong floral taste that was strange to me, but I can just remove those. General chicken was good and the dry chili chicken was good. The only reason the food got 4 stars was because of some unfamiliar flavors that i don't know if I like yet.“

“New Furama and Furama are my favorite go to places for dimsum. The selection is amazing, the quality great. I always leave feeling I made the best decision in dimsum. Prices are fairly reasonable too. It's a 90 minute drive one way, and well worth it.“

“Came here twice. First time we ordered dry hot pot, it was really good but very oily. Second time we ordered string beans and Kung pao chicken. The string beans tasted very good, but the Kung pao tasted more on the sweet & sour side, not to our taste. Both dishes very oily too. Generally, the food is good, but for the reason of every dish too oily, we probably won't come back too often.“

“I've lived in Chicago for over 70 years. The last time we visited Chinatown was over 10 years ago. We decided to check out Emperor"s choice restaurant on Wentworth/Cermak. The best decision ever. Hank was a awesome waitperson! He even brought out 5 different noodles for me to pick out the one I wanted. From drinks, appetizers, and main entrees, everything was delicious and worth the price which was quite reasonable. We'll be back!“

“I can't bring myself to gatekeep this place, I've never had a bad meal here. They serve even large groups quickly and have ample seating upstairs as well. The milk tea is great and the specials like the shredded cold chicken are fantastic. Absolutely a cut above all the tourist fare in Chinatown Square, and yet everything is still reasonably priced. Go here, you won't regret it.“

“I think this was the owners of Daguan noodles that closed a few months ago, the menu is the exact same with the same workers. Love love love. I was heart broken looking for Daguan noodle and saw that it was closed. Luckily we agreed on this place and realized it was the same place just in a different location and new name ?“

“Uncle Zhang’s is definitely my under the radar Chinese food spot in the city that is highly under rated. Hands down it is the best Chinese food in the city! The eggplant and the sweet and sour pork out of this world! The fact that no place I have been to makes the sweet and sour pork like they do makes them innovators since it’s hands down the best l dish! Most of the dishes are Cantonese style. So, if you like that style give Uncle Zhang’s a try!“

“It’s a clay pot restaurant inside the Park to Shop super market. Still a bit manual payment process. Order at the restaurant and pay upfront at the cashier (grocery store)
It’s a go to for clay pot rice. They added porridge and noodle selections to their menu. But clay pot is a must try, the bbq clay pot is always my favorite.“

“It is the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. The spectacular mixed rice. The shrimp and semi-sweet dumplings were delicious. The attention of the best. People always attentive and willing to help you. I recommend it without fail. Overall excellent.
Parking: Always with space to park.
Kid-friendliness: All dishes can be eaten by children. They're delicious.“

“This place does a lot more and take out and delivery that it does sit down. So don't let the fact that it doesn't seem like a bunch of people are in there fool you, the place is excellent! This is one of the most reasonably priced places you can get a ton of food! If you haven't had soup dumplings before you've got to! The staff is always in a good mood and ready to help! Everything I've had on the menu has been amazing! If you're looking for a simple noodle dish, or something elaborate, this place has everything! On a budget night when you're not interested in cooking but don't want to break the bank, put this on the list!“

“Servicers were among the best I've seen. They were so attentive, and they took special care of my friend who couldn't eat meat. Their sauce making station is very good and everything tastes so vibrant. We came in after a long and busy day, an hour before they closed, and they still allowed us to eat. They were very respectful. Better than any Minnesota hotpot place I've ever been to (I'm a Minnesota native). The fish balls were AMAZING. Absolutely one of the best blind picks we've had in Chicago so far.
Vegetarian options: They can change and edit the broth for vegetarians.“

“My husband and I came to this establishment as we were starving while shopping across the street and i was craving chinese food. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food is here. Very hot and freshly made to order and it tasted very good. The egg roll was one of the best i’ve had and pretty big in size compared to other egg rolls. The inside of the location was very small and hot! We ate in the car as we were sweating just standing there waiting for our order. I got the chicken lo mein lunch special and he got the triple delight spicy. Will definitely be returning and trying other entrees.
Vegetarian options: You can order almost any entree vegetarian if you ask.
Parking: It’s a plaza with other establishments but we found plenty of parking.“

“I went here 4 times in one month, because it really is that good. This is one of the few Chinese restaurants left in Chicago where the "sifu" really knows what they are doing--as in, truly is a master in technique and flavor. Everything I tried, was delicious. Some of their specialties, wide chicken and potato noodles, smoked pork pancakes, lamb dill dumplings, buckwheat dumplings, and crispy duck, are incredible not-to-be-missed dishes. But common favorites like crispy eggplant, salt and pepper shrimp, and shredded potato salad are done superbly here too. It's never too packed, and they are very considerate to families with small children. Be kind to to serving staff, you can tell it really is a family business and language can be tricky. They accidentally took down a lamb dish we didn't order but promptly took it back when the mistake was explained. I am going to keep coming back as often as I can, and make fans out of as many friends as possible.“

“I dined in with a friend and it was our first time here. We both ordered from their Combination Special Lunch Plate Menu.
I ordered the Kung Po Chicken, which included an egg roll and choice of steamed white rice, fried rice, or noodles. I chose the fried rice and my friend had the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. I will leave it to him to review his own dish should he so choose.
The server brought the egg rolls in advance of serving our entrees and rice. They were piping hot, the hottest I've ever experienced. The outer crust was crispy, not soft and greasy as many of my prior experiences elsewhere have often been. The inside was chock full of tasty ingredients.
We also had their hot and sour soup, which was quite good. It was a nice sized portion for the price and had an abundance of stock.
When our main dishes arrived, they were piping hot and exceptionally generous servings, both in terms of the entree portions and the rice.
My Kung Po Chicken had plenty of chicken along with other ingredients. It was flavorfully seasoned, and spicy, just as their menu indicated. The fried rice was also good. Complimentary hot tea was also provided, which we enjoyed as well.
All this for $9.15 per plate. [Note their online menu showed $10.95, but it was actually $9.15. Even at $10.95 it would have been a good value, but at $9.15 it was a great value, the best I've experienced in quite awhile.]
This was our first time here and likely not our last. It is real close to Midway Airport, which makes it handy when traveling in/out of town.
The service was friendly and efficient, and things were served up in a timely fashion. I highly recommend you giving it a try. If you do, and you don't find it as good as another place you've been, please comment so I can give your reccomendation a try, as I'm always up for exceptional Chinese cuisine.
Well done, New China Tea! Looking forward to coming back!“

“I love traveling to try new food. And places like Sweet Cafe Chicago are what make traveling worth it. The cook at this restaurant in Chinatown knows how to make their dishes delicious and memorable. The prices are unexpectedly affordable for the location. I got the Mouth Fragrant Lamp Chops (17.95), Egg Yolk Chicken Wings (13.95), Teochew Style Dumplings (5.50) and Fish Roe Siu Mai (5.95). I recommend all those dishes. I've never seen dumplings and siu mai that big and only cost that little. The lamp chops and the wings taste really different and delicious and can't be found elsewhere. I hope this restaurant keeps getting great business. They deserve to last a long time and become a staple in Chicago Chinatown. My only small suggestions are having sauce cups available on tables and maybe add a special dipping sauce that complements the egg yolk wings.“

“Fast and friendly service. I came here for valentine's day, and the staff were all very attentive. I had the gizzard, beef, and lamb kabobs, muscles, and crab leg boil which included corn, potatoes, and shrimp. Everything was excellent and seasoned very well. The homemade teas and lemonade were also good. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a low key evening with great food.“

“Service is kind of slow. It seems like they are short staffed. The stir fry and steamed fish are very good! Also strongly recommend the steamed eggplants. I do not recommend their chicken soup. But their vegetables dish, pork belly, beer duck

“Food is fresh and excellent. I find it to be one of the best in the area. Non greasy, good flavor, service is ok, but when they attend to you, you have their undivided attention. I have been there a few times, and it does not vary. It is also very clean, with large tables and booths.“

“The lamb skewer was delicious, and so was the hand-stretched noodles with beef in hot & sour sauce. The marinated pork roujiamo was also yummy but the meat was a little dry. On the bright side, the chili oil was a good compliment to the meal and the food got out relatively fast after ordering. Overall, it's an another hole-in-a-wall restaurant in Chinatown that serves food other than the usual Cantonese food like many other places in the area.“

“Only the crispy chicken bones are delicious! I ordered another one!
The other sauces were weird (the sauce for fish tofu and chicken skin didn't taste good at first bite). Mutton skewers or beef skewers, one is delicious and the other is not. Bacon and enoki mushrooms, the bacon was delicious, but a few bunches of enoki mushrooms lacked flavor/were not too cooked.
The grilled cold noodles are average, but I'm too hungry, and the egg and ham sausage is indeed delicious, but it's not as good as the one at the school gate.
Grilled eggplant, eggplant won’t taste bad! I’ve finished eating it anyway!
The garlic crayfish has no taste. I feel that the crayfish needs to be spicy.
Qingkou, are you okay? No special impression.“
