“I do not know how people don’t like this place!! I grew up on it!! The employees are some of the nicest people I have ever met! Sure things are a little expensive, but that’s because of the location! I bet rent is crazy high!! The food, people and— the food are so amazing!!“
“Delicious food and excellent service! FRY CHICKEN ‘N FRIES catered our wedding, and their flavorful chicken and crispy fries were a crowd favorite. Guests couldn't stop complimenting the meal. Thank you for making our special day even more memorable!“
“Juiciest burger in Illinois! I've never been to Au Cheval, but several people have told me that paradise pups burger tops Cheval. The bun is tasty, patties are fresh, and the sauce is out of this world. Parking is a bit cramped and be prepared to wait but these burgers are WORTH IT!“
“I've picked up burgers from here twice so far (I'm not in the neighborhood, but my partner is) and I've been impressed both times! Menu is small but has great options, and the burgers have been delicious both times. I love the extra touch of the logo on the buns! Will definitely be back again!“
“This place is special in a way that would almost makes me want to keep it a well-guarded secret. You don't really get this experience anymore, it takes a confluence of passion and community that's hard to come by in any era, let alone the modern, distanced, impersonal world we occupy now. This is the quintessential Chicago Mom n' Pop experience. Great food at ridiculously good prices served up with a smile and a friendly familiarity that makes you feel like you're right at home. The decor matches the patrons: humble, comfortable, working-class Americana and unapologetically Chicagoan to the core. You can tell most of the customers here are patrons for life, and with good reason. You always feel like a person here, not an order. They aren't just trying to turn over your ticket, they want to make sure you're taken care of.I can't tell you the last time I had perfect fries before this, like too-hot-to-eat, immaculate golden brown fries. I definitely can't recall ever getting them with a whole burger for under $7. I fed two hungry adults here for less than $20. It felt absurd, almost, like I wanted to pay more because it felt unfair to them that I'd pay twice that much at a lot of places.Just a positively perfect experience every time and we always make it a point to stop here anytime we're remotely close by.“
“LOVE NICKS! Great service, family owned, upbeat & inviting staff ? good energy all around, you can feel the mutual respect amongst the ranks & I love that. Happy employees = happy customers WHO COME BACK. *Nicks drive in* is the perfect example of this & my family always runs it back?NOW... FOOD? Nick's is known for their HOME-MADE GYROS & they are delicious by ALL accounts!! If you like gyros, you will LOVE theirs! Nicks makes burgers, hotdogs, mozzarella sticks, chili, popcorn shrimp, shakes & many more options, kids meals etc. Sit down & stay a while or drive-inn & drive out.I've been coming to nicks since I was a little girl getting lunch with my grandpa or grandma. Saturday night dinner out with dad. I think I may have even had a birthday party at Nick's in the mid 90s. Nick's is family. Iykyk & if you don't know.. GO FIND OUT.Yesterday I called in a pick up order& forgot my brother's milkshake on the counter. & instead of getting all the way home & changed out of my 'heavy snow storm--triple layered clothing' only to realize my mistake.. "NICKS" was calling me. AMAZING SERVICE !! Many wouldn't do that over a milkshake, thank you ?Anyway, TLDR..? Go to >> nicks drive -in chicago. You're welome ✨️?Parking: Alot of space to park unnless it's busy. NBut it's quickKid-friendliness: Alot of space for kids to be kids“
“I've worked in Morton Grove for 26 years and we have patronized this location often and have always found the food to be consistently great and the service to be Timely and I'm actually on my way there this now! Highly recommend. The Greek gyros are phenomenal and I also love the American Style. Stop by if you're in the area you'll be glad you did“
“Got the Blazing Bowl. The chicken is moist and packed with flavor. The sauces that they use have just the right amount of heat to let you enjoy the flavor and feel the heat at the same time. The Mac and cheese is also very creamy. Generous portion sizes are also a plus.“
“I was told this Dairy Queen was at this location for over 65 years and had that fantastic atmosphere for my day gone by. I enjoyed my ice cream treat and so did my wife and we were very happy coming to this location and we'll again. This location at a narrow parking lot in back because it was on a major corner but I no problem in parking or enjoying my Ice cream.“
“Sunday morning midday, I thought that there would be a wait for a table, but they were able to put us at a table by the kitchen/bathrooms. I've dined at Egg Harbors throughout the years and the menu seems pretty consistent although they did have a lot of new coffee drinks. My Bacado (bacon-avocado) omelette was fine, with a generous portion of avocados. This came with an English muffin and diced potatoes. My companion ordered the avocado toast and they said their over medium eggs were cold. Otherwise a fine breakfast. Our server made sure our drinks were filled and even offered to provide Togo containers for them. Easy to pay with QR code on receipt.“
“This is the place for chicken!! Best fried chicken, texas toast, coleslaw, and fries this side of the Mississippi. I use this location for caterings almost weekly and they have never made a mistake, always have it ready on time or early, and make sure everything is done right. Great place to get food for business meetings, parties, etc. Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: I asked for some non-breaded chicken fingers for a gluten intolerant co-worker and he said they were delicious!“
“They never miss to make great food in here, Italian beef is fire, and burgers are made well and placed perfectly. Whatever they are doing back there they are doing right. Only complaint would be the blond muscular gentleman seems to always have an attitude. If he sees this all I gotta say is chill out broski it will be alright ?“
“Awesome place, modern, cozy. Our 2 and 4 kids loooove to eat pasta and dine in. not just thay make pasta from scratch bit they are using organic chicken for our favorite pasta. pasta is usually done in 5/6 minute and portions are big. If you like Europian flavor for both interior and food this is right place for you!“
“Only reason I don’t give it a 5 is because there has been a couple times where my order was supposed to be ready for take out and I had to wait 20 minutes for it. I come during my lunch hour so that’s a good half hour waisted because of the delay and then I just have 30 mins or less to shove the food basically. The workers seemed to be working pretty fast so I think it may be a short staffed issue.“
“This is an institution in Skokie! I wish you could give it more stars. The hotdogs are sensational. The burgers are the best around the french fries what dreams are made of their chicken breast sandwiches satisfying any non-meat lovers appetite everything there is excellent. The staff is great the owners great, thank you so much for being here and providing the great food. If you're in Skokie, do not miss this place the chain that begins with P and ends in OS cannot compare.“
“The most delicious burgers are grilled here! They also have very tasty homemade seasonings you have to try! Staff are amazing and very friendly. Whenever I have the chance to stop by I always get the burgers and enjoy it. There is free parking spot and they open late night if you get hungry and your fridge is empty!“
“Wow. Best burger I’ve had in awhile…. Very simple but everything was delicious. The employee recommended the smash sauce instead of cheese for dipping fries and I’m glad we listened. ?Kid-friendliness: Smaller burgers for the kiddos was also helpful so they weren’t wasting part of a huge sandwich“
“I ordered a tuna sub. It was good but I wanted just a little more taste. Oil and vinegar would have been perfect but it was not offered. The lady working was 5 stars. She was personable, friendly, and fast. I would give them another visit for sure if I get back to that area.“
“I just moved to the area and was looking for a great Gyro. Wow, did I find exactly what I was looking for. Spiro's is authentic, delicious and the owners and staff have tremendous pride in the food they make for their customers. I was set on an Gyro but the owner made me a sample of the Bomber to give me a taste of what I will order on my next visit - the bread was soft, gravy delicious and the beef thinly sliced with tons of flavor. If you are looking for a delicious sandwich or fries, Spiro's is a great spot.“
“Portillo's in Skokie is a great spot for a delicious and casual Chicago-style dining experience. They're famous for their Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, and decadent chocolate cake. The restaurant also boasts a fun 1930s Prohibition-style theme, complete with vintage décor and gingham tablecloths. If you're looking for a taste of Chicago, Portillo's in Skokie is a definite must-try!“
“They season the grilled chicken so deliciously, the gyros are great, and I love the beef hamburger with white onion. The staff are saints who handle messy regulars like me with kindness and professional hospitality. Order fries and a Pibb and watch Jeopardy around 3:30 :)“
“Met a friend for breakfast & conversation. Comfortable, sunny dining room and friendly service. All the usual egg dishes, with some fun twists, and a dandy assortment of avocado toast options. Very conversation-friendly!Parking: Parking lot surrounds Egg Harbor and their immediate neighbors, plus street parking in the same block is also OK.“
“Been a customer since 1978 when it opened. There have been a few changes in ownership over the last 10 years, but the food quality has come back to an excellent level again. Love the gyros. The meat, the bread and how it’s cooked, and the sauce are amazing. But their gyros are not the only food they serve. Make a trip . It’s worth it.“
“Very delicious food! Reminds me of the syrian shawarma. And the broasted chicken is awesome and crispy and very flavorful and so is the fries that comes with it! Im a very picky eater but this has ringed my tastbuds efficiently. Definitely recommend. Preorder for the sake of time.“
“They need to come down in their prices but other than that a great place to dine in with the family, staff is TOP Knotch and the atmosphere well you can’t get any better than this! Come and find out for yourself I promise you’ll only leave disappointed with how much it costs!“
“I've driven past this place so many times and I finally decided to try it out. Only carry-out and delivery right now with the pandemic. I ordered 2 Big Island Classic burgers, 1 smokehouse burger, and another basic burger with one small cheese fry. It took 25-30min for preparation. This seems to be a 2 man operation (dad and maybe his daughter) and it was at prime lunchtime. I didn't realize the description online said the island and smokehouse burgers were on french bread so that was a surprise but not bad. Personally, we weren't the biggest fans of how the burgers were cooked, charred and well-done, but the toppings were great and my sister said the ketchup to mayo ratio on hers was perfect! The cheddar fries are Merkt's cheddar which I now know isn't my favorite but for those that like Merkt's, there is lots of it and covers all the fries. Thanks for lunch, Little Island :-)“
“This past mid September was the very first time trying this place and I'm glad I did. I'm a bit of a Gyros junkie so stumbling onto the name on Google maps caught my attention. My family & I were wandering around Old Orchard before coming here but I'm not familiar with any restaurants within the mall that serve up Gyros or at least I haven't heard of any popular name that's known for their Gyros there.Told my wife I've got that craving and wanna go exploring. Grecian Kitchen sounded just dandy and also in town not all that far from the mall and I always try my best to support local.I know besides actual Greek restaurants that there are hundreds of Chicago/Greek grills that many people would claim "MEH, they're all the same!". Not always the case for me and GK boasts a great menu with really good food and especially the Gyros.I've had my fair share of places that have served up some bland & boring Gyros before and never to return. Gyros here are excellent; meat is soft & moist, well seasoned and not too salty.Prices are still reasonable amidst the pandemic, nationwide inflation and the minimum wage hike. Clean dining room with outdoor seating as well with friendly customer service. We live up in Beach Park in between Wadsworth and Waukegan so not sure when I'll get back down here but if my wife ever wants to browse Nordstrom which Old Orchard is the closest to our house then I'll have to make room for some savory Gyros.I wish a prosperous & successful future for the owner(s) and decades of boomin' business to come their way.“
“They give you nice fat chunks of gyro meat here, it's excellent. My wife and I had a Chicago dog, pizza puff, bomber special, onion rings, Oreo shake. Everything was very good and the prices were fine. Bomber Special and Pizza Puff were my faves. Great dive vibes; it's a tiny 8-stool bar with a little TV in the corner. Playing tennis when I went (hell yeah)The gyro meat was chunky and had a good bite, and with BBQ sauce on the bomber special it was insane. The onion rings are breaded and I personally prefer battered, but the breading was even and fried well, and the inside was all beautiful stringy onions. Pizza puff was fantastic, great cheese and sauce ratio and really satisfying bites all the way through.Chicago dog was good, they use a poppyseed bun (I'm sick of going to spots with regular buns, this is a real dog) except I think the sports peppers were a little heavy. Tomatoes were a little light, but I prefer that. Oreo shake was excellent, it was creamy and a little icey in a good wayThe guy was really nice too. He was great at interacting with the customers that were interested and laying off the ones just trying to enjoy their food. 10/10 spot“
“I do like Culver’s fish sandwich. My sister went to pick up 3 sandwiches for my dad, myself and my sister. When she got home I put my hand in the bag to get sandwich out and felt something warm and in just a wrapper was my fish without a bun. I felt like I was in a horror movie about to unwrap a warm heart or something. Who was the dipshit that did that? My sister always ask for a hamburger bun because I do not like the thick bun the fish comes with. To all workers at Culver’s please pay attention when an order is placed.“
“I'm truly impressed by Culver's. I had always viewed them as "high end fast food" and so had not visited cause I'm so cheap! But now that I have been there a couple times, I am completely sold on them. Respectful staff, clean facilities, great food, wide menu...Culver's is great!“
“Not too many hot chicks working here but that’s fine. The food was really good. The claw machine was broken so if you were gonna go there for just that don’t. This is completely irrelevant but Im a little bit hunger over today. Gonna eat some Korean and just take it easy tonight.“
“So, Im a very picky person especially with my food but I will try anything onetime if I don't like it I will never purchase it again. I have to say after reading the reviews it's definitely a must buy. Im literally addicted to this food as of right now. It is soooooo good and always fresh. The service is quick and the lady at the front desk is always so kind and respectful. I would recommend anyone to go get a bite. Thank you for your service and good original food.“
“Yesterday I went to the drive-up window and ordered the four piece chicken nuggets meal, which comes with fries, coleslaw, toast and a drink plus the special sauce. I'm always too busy to sit in the restaurants and eat, so the drive-up windows are my lifeline to good, hot meals. This place is very busy but it's also very efficient, especially the drive-up window service. It's Good food here..“
“It was a Saturday, so the restaurant was extremely overcrowded. They didn't have enough seating for people who wanted to come and sit the burger the fries the sauce the watermelon drink was all really good. I'd go back again but not to this location. Parking sucks. The prices are affordable for three people with three burgers and two fries and one drink was about $30 I mean where can you go anymore anyway to get food that's affordable! The service was pretty easy. You didn't have to talk to anybody all they had to do was make the food and call the number when it's ready they have kiosk where you order the food that helps too because you don't have to put up with the employees who hired who are mostly rude obnoxious employees that are just going to give you bad service where you spend your hard earned $$ but this was not the case as all I had to deal with was the machine. lol“
“I've ordered online from this location about 10 times in the last year and they get it right every time no issues whatsoever. Even during busy lunch hours when they had a packed drive thru they always get my online orders perfect when placed through their website. This location of Culver's is a perfect example of what they all should be like.“
“Run over to this little spot on Bank Lane, a side street in the center of town, for a perfectly presented Chicago Style hot dog. Delicious! The seeded bun, the soft boiled dog, impeccably chosen toppings-- superb! I really loved the water canister-- a simply beautiful "thing" that delighted me! I saw a Not-So-Sloppy Joe coming out and I'm coming back for that! It's a friendly clean place. The owner said they've been around since 1963! Coming from a town in Ohio that has a famous place called The Hot Dog Shop, well, I'm not easy to please in this department-- but today I got WOWED! I'll be back for the homemade soups (the mom makes these I'm told) and today it is Wedding Soup and Tomato Soup. Lots of others good choices on the menu.“
“This is a cultural Chicago area Icon. Ok never mine the food is ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL. It's the hot dog stand of your dreams. Everything is delicious- ive had it all over many years. Established in 1969, next door to Ryan Field in Evanston IL, it's a wonderful family business fantastic service, open late. Treat yourself it's worth it.Parking: Parking around the resturant and street parkingKid-friendliness: What kid doesn't like a hotdog or hamburger. Quality ingredients served just the way they like it“
“Pete's Grill is the best breakfast and lunch place ever I have yet to have lunch here yet but every time I have breakfast there I always go for the sausage Patty egg and cheese on wheat hands-down, the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had in Chicago,“
“I was in the area and googled sub sandwiches. This is a small hole in the wall but friendly and good food from what I had. The menu was on what looked like a chalkboard, I did not see a veggie sub on menu, so I asked the nice gentleman if they had veggie subs, he said I can make you one and do you want cheese on it? I said yes, lots of choice of veggies for the sub, lettuce tomato onions pickles jalapenos and more I cannot recall. My sub was delicious! I had it on white bread because I forgot to ask if they had wheat bread and he already started making my sub. It was very good....I did not get a drink but they had all sorts of soda including Diet Rite and RC and a bunch of others. I will go back again when in area“
“Local spot. Great flavorful salads with lots of ingredients and delicious dressings. Great for dinner, lunch, and catering for large groups. Kids love the chicken nuggets and we love the burgers. Our go to quick and fresh meal spot.Kid-friendliness: Lots of great choices for kids.“
“Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Visited a few times during their opening year and once it twice since then. Customer service is still pretty slow. I waited close to 10-min since a couple in front of me switched up their order a couple of times, plus there were technical difficulties with one of the registers with the transaction. During this time, a line formed of about ten (10) people behind me. There was another register but no one seemed available to step up. Maybe the staff could have said something to the crowd. Anyway, I wanted to try their Chicken Nuggets but I guess they don't have them yet or don't sell them here. I ordered a 2-piece Chicken Joy Meal Deal as well as a 6-piece Chicken Tenders (which noted they were new) - both items pictured here. I ordered the 2-piece Chicken Joy spicy and I absolutely loved how spicy it was. I don't recall it being that spicy. The gravy was a bit sweeter than I remembered as well. Chicken Tenders are better than your other chicken tenders out there and so do their sauces (ordered their Classic Dipping Sauce and Spicy Sriracha). Of course for my pie option, I chose the Peach Mango Pie, although I'll get the Ube Pie next time. Overall, I'll be sure to be back sooner than later, and hopefully service won't be lagging.“
“First of all Very good service . Musab and Sanju are great.Their aaloo Samosas are the best .Surprisingly they make amazing burgers, My favorite is the Nash burger with fries , awesome sauce.Halwapuri ofcourse the review would be incomplete without it.And now they are HFSAA certified.May ALLAH give barakah.“
“I tried this place for the first time and their meatball sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. The staff was very kind and welcoming. My husband got the fried bologna sandwich which was also very good ! I would highly recommend to others.“
“Always order the burgers Off the Broiler & Always ask for No Salt French Fries. Bathrooms are very clean. Plenty of parking all meals. If you ask for king sauce on a double whopper tell them to put Canadian bacon between the two patties & prepare to be amazed! Good for Breakfast too. Treat yourselfParking: There are other joints to the West that compete for parking but there are no adjacent structures it's a lot of parking. Like you could get a mid size moving truck in there with plenty of room to get in & out of a parking space or twoWheelchair accessibility: There is access parking clearly marked in front of the establishment.“
“Let me point out one key detail to why the hotdogs are so good at u dog u. Take a really good look at the photos that I’ve posted. you see that end of that hotdog you see how it’s twisted you see how it overhangs the bun well those are all great signs. Have a wonderful delicious hotdog. Also, I would like to point out the toppings sauerkraut ,sport peppers. These are the two things that we really should have on every single Chicago style hotdog and the only ketchup you see insight is on them fries and let me say ,them fries were crispy delicious warm in the center just the way you expected crinkle cut fries to be. they have mastered the art of the Chicago style hotdog and the crinkle cut fry.Parking: It’s certain times of a day it might be a little difficult to get a prime spot so you might have to walk about 25 to 50 feet to the door but man is that walk worth it and you’re gonna need it once you leave because the food is so damn good!Wheelchair accessibility: All the tables are wheelchair height and all the chairs can be moved to accommodate anyone in a wheelchair“
“My wife and I had lunch with our granddaughter at the Skokie Blvd. Chick-fil-A and enjoyed the experience. Service was fast despite the restaurant being quite busy. Our order was quickly brought to our table. The food was warm and tasty. Prices are average for a fast food place. As a courtesy to our senior status, the counter employee gave us a free beverage! This was our first visit to a Chick-fil-A, and we shall return!Parking: No handicap spaces“
“Lots of locals come for quick take out. There were ni chairs or tables for dine in. Everything's made fresh. The cheesy beef fries were pretty good, healthy amount of Italian beef and giardiniara on cheese fries. The cheese and fries themselves were pretty average but the Italian beef was pretty good. Whole thing was maybe 1-2 dollars more than it should've been. But you get pretty fast service and located conveniently in a residential neighborhood.Vegetarian options: It's really just French Fries. Everything else seems to have meat.Parking: Good luck finding street parking. No parking lotWheelchair accessibility: First floor, no steps.“
“The guys at this location are awesome, very friendly and cordial. If you have food allergies, they will take care of your order. We really like this place and their food.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free - Bunless burger wrapped in lettuce or burger in a bowl.“
“Everything about the location and food is great! My family comes here at least 3 times within a week and the food always hits that spot! Great customer services! The young man even remembered my name everytime I come in! Definitely support local businesses , I love this family restaurant! It a must try when you come to visit! Big portions so come hungry! It the only place I go when I’m looking for real authentic Spanish food!“
“I have been coming her for three years. They are outstanding which comes from being family owned with the same group of workers. Yes they get to know you fast and remember what you want. We spend much of the winter in Florida and while those Subways we frequent in Florida are good these guys are the best. Very clean - fresh subway!“
