“I’ve been driving past Taco Boom Truck for what feels like forever, always catching a whiff of grilled meat or seeing a small line of people and thinking, “One day I’ll stop.” Well, I finally did, and man, I should’ve done it way sooner.
It’s a simple setup, parked off the road, colorful, and always smelling amazing. People were hanging out, eating, and the service was quick and friendly. The guy at the window even gave me some salsa tips when I told him it was my first time.
I went with two carne asada tacos. No exaggeration, the meat was so tender and juicy, with this really nice char on the edges. You could taste the seasoning in every bite, nothing overpowering, just that good mix of garlic, citrus, and smoky flavor. The tortillas were warm, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together (no taco explosions, which is always a win).
The green salsa? Wild. It started off kind of mild, then hit with this spicy, peppery kick that crept up in the best way. It had some creamy avocado vibes too, which made it super addictive. Honestly, I kept dipping even after I ran out of taco.
If you’re in the mood for solid tacos that hit all the right notes, Taco Boom is 100% worth the stop. I already know I’ll be back.“

“This place is truly one of the best spots for Mexican food 🌮😋! I tried a steak burrito and some steak tacos, and the flavor of the steak was amazing 🤤. Portions were generous, and even though I got my order to go 🥡, the restaurant itself is small, cozy, and super clean ✨. I loved the cute decorations and the overall vibe 🪴🎨. Definitely a must-visit if you’re on the Southside 👍. I’ll absolutely be coming back soon!“

“Stopped in by chance just passing bcus my daughter wanted to purchase a water and this was the first place we saw after she requested water. Decided to order tacos and they were absolutely delicious. We had the carne asada and it was so flavorful. We ordered as a take out order but the presentation was very neat and colorful with garnishes of red pepper, lime and radish. Nice staff also.“

“this restaurant is an absolute gem!! my partner and i had an early dinner here last saturday and were really blown away by how incredible the food, drinks and service were. between us we had soup, flautas, wings, a gordita and a burrito and we basically gushed over how delicious it all was for days after!
the drinks alone are reason enough to stop in.
the place is a masterclass in substance AND style, and we can’t wait to try some more menu items next time!“

“My family and I traveled to Chicago twice this year and dined at the Asian Cuisine Express both times. The owner, cooks and wait staff were all extremely friendly and made each of our visits a wonderful experience. We ordered Chinese and Japanese food and we also sampled some of their new delicious tacos... everything we tried was absolutely fantastic. We live 300 miles away so we ordered a lot of takeout to bring home with us to share with our friends who didn't get to make the trips. Asian Cuisine express will be a regular stop now for us every time we go to Chicago... we highly recommend everyone tries this restaurant and we can't wait until we visit there again. Thanks to all the great people at Asian Cuisine Express!!!“

“Burritos are huge. Don’t recommend the shrimp tacos or chorizo, really salty even when eaten with the rice. Our waitress Guadalupe was rude, doesn’t know how to smile, and kept rushing us. Took a star off because of her.
Really hated that the tip was mandatory with no option to adjust. Tipped almost $20 for absolute garbage service. Will Not return“

“Insanely good, food made almost scarily fast, and reasonable prices, don't mistake it for a tourist trap just because it's next to the conservatory. Get a burrito with cilantro and onion if you're hungry in the area, you won't regret it.“

“Everything was great. From the food to the service and even the prices. My husband and I went for Valentines day. We got the V-Day which was a birria pizza n desert for $25. My husband had the ground beef enchilada dinner. We both had a passion fruit margarita. The birria pizza was cooked to perfection. The meat was seasoned, tender, and tasty. The consome was 10 out of 10. My husband said every in the enchiladas dinner was good. The owner and his wife are very friendly. The wife took the order and had a wonderful conversation with us. Food didn't take long to prepare. Great experience will be back soon.“

“Good quiet Taco place. Tortillas are handmade and big. The carne asada and al pastor meat is cooked perfect with a lil char on the asada. A cash only place but also takes zelle/quickpay. Not too busy but good place if you want a quick but delicious bite.“

“This place was so good! My boyfriend, baby, and I came here to dine in yesterday and the food was phenomenal. We were looking for queso barria tacos on google and they showed up. The server was awesome. They didn’t have a kids menu but I asked if they can do rice and eggs for the baby and they did just that he loved his meal as well! The cook even came to talk to us for a bit which I thought was pretty cool…very personalable! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for your service 😁“

“I’ve been seeing for a while, finally stopped. As you get closer, you can already smell the tacos, so that pulls you in quick. First thing I liked, they actually have a seating area. Didn’t have to stand around eating, which is a big plus for a truck. The people working there were super nice and friendly.
I ordered four tacos, two cabeza and two asada. They came out fast and hot, nice and crispy, and loaded with meat. The cabeza was tender, delicious, soft and full of flavor. But the asada… yeah, that was the one. Tender, juicy, really well seasoned, and you get that slight char that gives it extra flavor.
Then the green salsa… that’s what took it up. Not too spicy, but packed with flavor. It adds this fresh, tangy kick that cuts through the richness of the meat and brings everything together. With the asada, it just works, you get that smoky, savory bite from the meat and then the salsa comes in and brightens it up. Makes you go right back for the next bite.
Simple, but done right. I’d come back for those asada tacos easy.“

“Popped into Toby's this evening. My first bar on my first visit to the USA, and boy did I pick a good one. The service was excellent, Janet and Ashley were extremely welcoming. The vibe was relaxed and the regular clientele all seemed friendly too. Drinks were very reasonably priced. I hope to visit again very soon!“

“I had dinner with a couple of friends. We ordered the Taco platter, nachos and drinks. For the taco platter we choose carne asada, al pastor and fish tacos. Out of the 3, we all agreed the fish tacos were the best. The fish was perfectly cooked and the mix of the sauces and toppings made it exquisite!! The steak tacos was delicious as well, however we all agreed the al pastor was a bit to salty for our taste. At the end we had the churro which were delicious as well. They had strawberry and plain, both were perfect. All in all i would say this is a good place to fulfill your taco cravings. 🌮“
