Mary (who I believe is the owner) was outside and immediately greeted me with the warmest smile. She went way above and beyond, sharing all about the magic and history of Long Grove, and even gave us a little tour! I left thinking, “We’re definitely coming back soon.”

Fast-forward a bit, my daughter and I returned on a chilly day for some cozy hot chocolate. Everyone had already ordered, so I let my 4-year-old place her own order. The person behind the counter was so kind, so patient, and made her feel so special.

I enjoy this more than the other places in Libertyville because the barista's really know their products - every one I've talked with has been able to discuss each coffee with knowledge that helps me learn. And oh so friendly, nice people who work there.

Pastry choices are limited, so-so in taste, and too sugary for me (donuts, muffins) They could use some nice croissants, chocolate croissants, morning buns, etc. If they partnered with Hewn Bakery it would be perfect. (I will often get coffee to go, and bring my own Hewn to eat outside at the benches.)“

The plov is deeply satisfying—fragrant rice, meltingly tender lamb, and those sweet raisins that make every forkful addictive—while the grilled kebabs deliver proper charcoal punch and the hand-pulled laghman noodles have exactly the right springy bite. Manti are plump and comforting, the tea ritual is lovely, and the warmly hospitable service makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than a customer. It’s only held back from a full five by occasional inconsistency (one visit the meat was perfection, another slightly dry) and a dessert selection that feels a touch limited. Still, for authentic Uzbek soul food in an atmosphere that glows with genuine Central Asian spirit, Samarkand remains an absolute delight well worth repeat visits.“

This is one of my go to places in Libertyville. I love the atmosphere, the location, and their sandwiches/scones. The only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 is I'm a chai lover and I wish they had a chai that was vanilla flavored on the menu. It's very spicy and I'm not a fan. Other than this, my friends always rave about the drinks they get since I'm not an actual coffee person.“

“every time I stop at this Scooters location, what I get with my order of coffee is smile, happiness and good vibes. I love this location and what happened yesterday was a cherry on a cake. I did my order on the app, I ordered coffee which wasn't available anymore, I didn't notice time frames and the app allowed me to buy this drink, when I got to pick up window, the girl which works there, very friendly and wonderful young woman apologized so much explaining that they don't have this coffee at that time no more and gave me 3 donuts for that. I went for a 30 minute coffee to check my emails, and was so pleasantly surprised when the barista asked if I wanted a ceramic mug for my coffee. She even offered to bring it to my table. It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas!
