“My wife and I had not been here in about a year. We would get AYCE lake perch, which they understandably don't offer anymore. However, the YELLOW Lake Perch dinner is absolutely the best in the area. The filets are perfectly breaded and pan fried. We also got a side of 2 walleye filets prepared the same way. Just as good with the distinctly walleye taste. We were both in the mood for coleslaw and fries. After we left, neither of us could figure out why it took so long to go back. We had a great, friendly server (Lindsey) who was new, but she was awesome. We also got to chat with Cindy (the owner) for a while. The place is not smokey at all and not very busy for a Friday night. My only complaint is their social media outreach. I like to look at menus before I visit a restaurant. But that's just me. We will be back to try other offerings, highly recommended.“

“Twelve Islands was my favorite family restaurant in Crown Point… Even though I don’t live there anymore when I head that way I like to stop in… My daughters loved going there and loved the lemon rice soup…I occasionally got the chicken livers and the calves liver with onions and bacon…. LOL 😂 Oh and the Chefs salad was always great, Greek style…. It’s always good there… I would definitely recommend it…! 5 STARS ✨“

Out of 4 people ordering 3 plates were wrong. The chicken Kiev was so bad that an Aldi chichen Kiev would be 10 times more amazing! Not only were 3 meals wrong they could even fix then all because they said sorry the cook left. And for 4 people the bill was 76.00. I don't know what else to say except never again and don't waist your money to eat like your eating trash.“

“My husband and I decided to try Pavs for the first time. We tried the lemon rice soup and a club sandwich. The soup was absolutely amazing! Taste was perfect. The club sandwich was very delicious they don’t skimp on products. We will definitely be back again. Found a new favorite place.“

“Visited Culinary Misfits this evening. It was a first time visit and we can’t wait to come back. We tried the khachapuri for an appetizer. It was stated to be a pull apart bread with molten cheese. The bread didn’t exactly pull apart but that’s my only “complaint” about the entire experience and really, it was solved with using the provided knife to make smaller pieces. We ordered the Loco Bueno Wrap and short rib grilled cheese. We weren’t able to finish half our main courses without being full. The environment is inviting and enjoyable. Service was great. It will certainly be somewhere we visit more frequently.“

“I came here three weeks ago to celebrate the end of my physical therapy for withered hand.

As I was entering a man dressed as a pirate opened the door for me and tried to high pressure sell me an on the spot ColoGuard test. You know what I’m talking about? Where you do your business in the box and they make sure all is good back at the lab?

This guy was offering me 75% off the screening and even though it was a bit strange, I’ve seen bars do stranger promotions. So Pirate ColoGuard Night is something I’d been conditioned to expect by the mainstream media.

I said “Are you affiliated with Al’s Tavern and Brew Pub?”

And he said “I’m a pirate, I’m not affiliated with anyone. I take what I want” as he put the ColoGuard box in my hand. But he winked so I feel like he was hired to be there.

I took him up on it. He said the 75% off was only available if I paid cash, but he did take a picture of my id and insurance card with his Amazon Fire tablet.

I was unsure how much ColoGuard costs because the commercials never say, but $200 seemed fair and also he made it seem like I’d have to sit next to a dj playing Barbie Girl by Aqua very loudly in the bar area if I didn’t participate in the promotion.

So I gave him the money and he followed me to my car where I completed my end of the bargain and then handed the box back to him.

He disappeared like a pirate ship into heavy seas and fog. I went into Al’s and nobody in there was dressed as a pirate or offering any other sort of medical discounts. Maybe the promotion was only during happy hour?

Regardless, it’s been three weeks and I haven’t gotten my results yet. I keep calling Al’s but they just try to get me to buy a Super Bowl Square.

“Disappointing..the chili/koney sauce was very salty to the point it was nesrly inedible. ..I think since it was late afternoon, it simmered to the point where it became concentrated due to evaporation and it needed some liquid to even out the extreme salt content... the dogs were good, the chili cheeseburger was almost impossible to eat..so messy. Fries were.probably the highlight of my visit the lady behind the counter was excellent though 👍👍 Great service I probably would try them again though....possibly the saltiness was an anomaly“

“I visited One 13 North Saturday night with my boyfriend. It was completely packed but we were sat and greeted fast. Our server was very attentive and knew the menu. I noticed all the employees working as a team! I had the parmesean encrusted filet he had the chicken parmesean sandwich, both 10/10 along with a few of the fall cocktails but the carmel apple mule was my absolute favorite! I enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich quite a bit and the additional spice dusting on the bun added just the right amount of heat. Parking: It's almost easier to get here coming off of I-65 as opposed to coming off of US 30.

Kid-friendliness: Kids are restricted after 9 pm per a notice on the door.

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entry should not be a problem and the tables are spaced enough for good access.“
