“Passing through KC on a multi-state road trip, looked up best BBQ spots and Q39 was on multiple lists. Lunch did not disappoint. Wife and I had the Judges platers. Chicken, pork, and sausage for her. Brisket, ribs, and sausage for me. All of the meats were amazing. Our server, Maddie M., was very friendly and helpful in choosing options. Normally we enjoy having a slower paced meal but since we're traveling it was nice that we were in and out in under an hour. Highly recommend!“
“It's places like this that make our experiences even more special! The food was excellent and even more so for me as a burger fan. The service is excellent and leaves you wanting more…Wheelchair accessibility: Very affordable and super comfortable place“
“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“
“The only thing better than the food and drinks is the staff! Shout-out to Rosie Robert's for ALWAYS making me feel like an old friend whenever I come in. Whether I'm with my husband or group of friends, she's always consistent, professional, and friendly! My favorite dishes are the cinnamon roll pancake and breakfast bowl, paired with the Luscious Lavender - YUM!!!“
“5 stars with a caveat. Food incredible. Wait staff very good. Almost every employee smiled as they walked by. Reservations at 4. Promptly ordered drinks and a seafood tower. In 30 mins more drinks and another dozen oysters. 20 mins another round of drinks and crab cakes. Now it's 5:15. Hostess trys to take our menu. We were about ready to decide on dinner. She said she needed the menu as table was reserved for others at 6 and we'd better hurry. It totally threw us off. Not like we were just chit chatting. Sort of a strange way to say thanks for spending $300 with us. I guess the 2 hour rule is a midtown thing as I saw it at next place we tried to eat dinner at in Brookside. Besides the rude hostess, it is a midtown KC gem. Guess us farm folks with stay out South next time.“
“My grandmother and I came in early in the evening. We were guided to a table almost immediately despite not having a reservation and the seat was nice because we got a good view of everything happening around us. Our server went above and beyond: constantly checking in if we needed anything and asking how the food tasted as well as boxing up our food for us. The food was extraordinarily delicious, definitely not store bought sauce! I kept thinking how I’d love to bring more of my family in the future. Thank you for a great meal and excellent service!“
“March 2024Following a show at Aztec, it made perfect sense to return here with my wife and parents. They never disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, always very friendly staff, and beautiful food. I enjoyed the lobster bisque but was especially blown away by the lobster pasta. Wandering Vine’s chef is truly creative and I greatly admire her colorful original plating.June 2023My parents enjoyed Wandering Vine so much that we were all excited to go back when they were in town over the weekend. Funny enough, we ate at the same table where we sat last time. This place certainly has a unique charm to it, with a nice atmosphere that you won't quite find anywhere else. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and our service was wonderful. I had the braised lamb shoulder pasta. It was cooked to perfection and the flavors were fantastic. The toasted pine nuts were a nice touch. The only thing I would have changed is substituting the edamame for something else. It added nice color, but it was a little too much crunch for my taste. My wife had the special, which was goat cheese cavatelli pasta with crab meat. Absolutely delicious. My dad enjoyed the filet mignon and we all enjoyed our wine flights--one of my favorite things about this restaurant. Mine included wines from Argentina, France, and Washington. We didn't save room for dessert, but we did get a taste of the gazpacho, which was very flavorful with a nice kick to it. They are rotating their menu in a few weeks, so definitely reason to return.Feb. 2023Had dinner here with my wife and parents and we LOVED it. Sometimes it can be hard to find a place that satisfies both of my parents but we all thought the food was delicious and original. The staff was extremely friendly and professional as well. The place itself is quite unique too and I would recommend it for a nice romantic dinner. We can't wait to go back.“
“Our waitress, Karen B was fantastic! She made our evening amazing. I'm 68 & she got the biggest tip I have ever given. The only thing that was bad, they wouldn't take my sons coupon for his birthday. It did say not on .holiday, I realize it was Easter Sunday. Again kudos to Karen B. I will be back & I sure will request her. Thanks for making it a amazing meal. CraigParking: More than plenty!Kid-friendliness: Our waitress made my Grandson day, being so accommodating. He talked about her all the way home.“
“OMG fantastic BBQ! Some of the best, most tender burnt ends I've had in KC! Definitely will be returning for brunch! We also enjoyed an appetizer w/$8 off for their "8th Anniversary Special" - we got the BBQ wontons - definitely would recommend. But I also saw the appetizer for onion straws - it was stacked about 6 inches high with onion straws across the 12 inch appetizer plate - it was HUGE to say the least & I was sad we didn't get that too after seeing it :) Kye was great! Very quick & on top of our needs. She seemed to be one of the few waiters/waitresses working & she kicked major butt! Thank you!!“
“We (Me, wife, and daughter) were there for lunch. My wife and I shared The Pig Flatbread and ordered my daughter fries and chicken tenders. We flatbread was delicious! My daughter normally doesn’t eat anything from a restaurant except fries or bread. We tried the chicken tenders just in case she changed her mind. She tried the chicken along with their housemade ketchup, which she typically rejects sauce, and she loved it. We ordered drinks and they were good too. The chef/owner greeted us at the end which was a nice end to lunch. Our waiter and hostess were great as well. Overall, it was a five star experience!“
“We had only been to Rockhille Grilel once before and didn't have a great experience. Buuuut, we decided to give it another try during their Happy Hour. I got their Bruschetta and it was the BEST I've ever eaten and so delightfully plated. Simple, yet classic. Our server, Trevor was EXCELLENT. The Rockhill Grille will DEFINITELY be on our, "regular" list“
“Been eating at their various Kansas City area restaurants for over 25 years (favorite one is 117th and Roe location). I'm a BBQ lovin' boy from a BBQ lovin' town and trust me, they're the REAL DEAL! If you want the best of the best, order a "Jumbo Z Man", then ask for "extra brisket" and SLATHER it with their original sweet and smoky sauce. Better yet, have them cut it half, add an order of bountiful french fries and share it with a friend or loved one. PLENTY of perfectly smoked brisket and fries to go around and you won't get a better BBQ meal from a better BBQ restaurant, at a better price (around twenty bucks for the whole thing), anywhere in Kansas City...or anywhere else AT ALL, for that matter!“
“The other BK as we call it. Love it. We had brunch this morning and it was wonderful. Our server Paul was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Been here for dinner several times and it's always great. Will definitely be back for brunch! Sorry I forgot to take photos of our food at restaurant. I'm posting what's left of my delicious breakfast sandwich. Husband had an omelette.Btw be careful what ketchup you choose. They have 3 different flavors.“
“Food was really good. Service was quirky and attentive. My only complaint about anything was the lighting. They have weird blue lights that (see picture) make it difficult to read the menu and see the food. I had to guess a lot about the flavors. This was on the back patio. I'll be back but I'm bringing my glasses next time.“
“Absolutely love Brewers Kitchen. Staff is extremely friendly, local beer selection is fantastic and the food is nothing short of amazing. Ive had just about every thing on the menu in the last 6 months of visiting and have never been disappointed. Their house made Honey Mustard is exceptional and wish I could buy gallons of it for back home it's that good. The food really is the star of the show, you can tell nothing is frozen and everything is fresh and made to order. If you want the best burger in KC, you need to come in to Brewers Kitchen.“
“In the city's heart lies a gem where cuisine is elevated to art. The restaurant, with its modern, clean lines, exudes confidence and sophistication, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. Our journey here was remarkable, thanks to the kitchen's inventive use of ingredients, turning each dish into a visually stunning and deliciously surprising masterpiece. The service was another highlight, with attentive staff enhancing our enjoyment and making us feel part of the restaurant's family. A special mention goes to our second night at the Chef's counter, where friendly banter and culinary insights enriched our meal. This isn't just a place to eat; it's where food becomes an experience, blending taste, presentation, and warmth into something unforgettable. If you're looking for a vegetarian meal that will impress and delight, this restaurant is your destination.“
“I wish I could give this place 6 stars. They deserve it. Me and the wife tried the one down in Dallas and loved it so when we found out there was one closer. We wanted to try it too, and today was the day. They was extremely flexible with our reservation (originally made for 730, they us change it to 6.)The server was great, friendly and professional and made awesome suggestions. The manager came out to let us know that one of the meals was over done, so it was going to be a few more minutes, and offered us free salads or soups. My wife had the lamb, which we both would recommend 100% I had the filet this time which was equally good. I had the Asparagus soup, which reminded me of a richer broccoli and cheese soup. We also had the Ahi Tartare, normally not my thing, but wanted to try something different, it didn't disappoint, if you like Ahi, I'd recommend.“
“If you've never been to Kitty's you need to stop reading these reviews and go right now. This is an amazing spot with a ton of history and has the best fast sandwich in KC. They don't skimp on the portion either, these are big sandwiches and they're 110% worth the money and wait.I love this spot and if you've never had it you're in for an absolute treat.“
“Very cool room hidden off the alley. Had an Italian Beef (Jim's Beef) and had low expectations. Being from Chicago I was a bit snobby about anyone else outside of the Windy City doing an IB right. My apologies. Great sandwich. The bread was perfect. Tender, juicy meat. Giardiniera nice and spicy. My only gripe would be the lack of fries as a side. I had the jalepeno slaw and it was good, but fries are the natural side to a lovely beef. Will be back.“
“We had the burnt end French dip and Cuban sandwiches. They both ranked as some of the best food I have ever eaten. Also had AMAZING friendly, funny, helpful staff. I seriously can not recommend this place enough. The food and atmosphere would be worth the 4 hour one way drive. We will be back for sure every time we are in KC.“
“The food was AWESOME. Please tell the bar manager, or whoever works the bar drink menu to update. The waitress ran back and forth at least 5 times trying to get a drink order b/c it wasn't up to date! She also seemed really timid and slightly slow for it being a very empty building. Super sweet, but we definitely were there way longer than we intended to be.Parking: There is a lot on the upper "back side" of the building, where you pull in at. Loads of handicapped parking out front with a few standard spots.Kid-friendliness: Seemed like a great place for family get togethers. Lots of families in when we were there.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily wheel chair accessible and plenty of handicapped parking available.“
“The sausage gravy here is amazing! I could drink it lol I had biscuits and gravy and it was amazing. I also love the potatoes. The pancakes melt in your mouth they were great. And my husband really liked the free cinnamon rolls. I'm from Texas and was just visiting but when I come back to Kansas city I'll definitely be “
“"I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast at Sunrise on 39th! The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. From the warm hospitality to the mouthwatering dishes, it was a truly memorable experience. Can't wait to visit again!"“
“Food was so delicious, as was my beverage. Service was fantastic. We were so hungry that we neglected to take photos. Would highly recommend this place. A bit pricey, but also not terrible. One negative was it was cold and I was freezing.“
“Wow! Terrific pizza, location, atmosphere as d overall diving experience! Impressive lunch! The pizza is voted one of the best in the area, and now I know why! It was ordered as desired and didn't disappoint! The crust of the pizza is truly one of the best I've ever tasted! Impeccable product! The building was beautiful and inviting, inside and out! Impressed by the menu and the friendly employees! There is so much to look at in every direction! You won't be disappointed, or it's your own fault! Thanks to all! What an asset to the area!“
“A nostalgic environment. The menu is limited, but the food is excellent. Note that the menu slightly changes from week to week, or month to month or seasonly. So check their website. The artwork at the 21c was beautiful. And the TV was showing silent movies from the past. An excellent restaurant for dinner. We'll definitely be back.“
“Big Belly's catered a baby shower I was hosting this past weekend. They went above and beyond. The food was amazing! Everyone was asking where it was from. Thank you to Josh and his team for making such great stuff. And you were right, the Italian fingers were a huge hit.“
“Not sure what the theme for this restaurant was, but I had the impossible burger, and I was deeply impressed. I have been a beef eater, all my life. This burger was amazing. Would recommend trying it if you were curious. The staff was amazing, I can't remember the waitress name now, it was one of those 'like this city name but without the last letter's people. She did amazing.“
“Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. Also, check out the hotel bar if you have some time before or after.Update: We’ve been back several times now. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is amazing! Highly recommend!“
“Visited last night with some friends… and oh my god everything was DIVINE. The fresh bread, the mussels in broth, the spinach salad, the most amazing roasted carrot and turnip soup, and of course the classic chicken and vegetable pot pie. This is going to be a weekly staple for us for sure! Love the rotating menu, and cozy atmosphere. And the staff…. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️“
“We had a group of 15 last Sunday around 9am. The host greeted us and got us a table within 5 minutes. He was so nice and efficient. Our server Elasia was wonderful. She got drinks going while we waited for a few others to arrive. She was efficient and got us everything we needed. There was plenty of options on the menu. Food was great. All around great experience.“
“Not only was the cheeseburger I was served a perfect example of a smashburger, but the charming interior decor makes you feel like you've taken a ride in a time machine back to the 1950s. There's a very nice family-friendly vibe going on. Highly recommend.“
“A local favorite, always fresh, always delicious, small friendly vibes, incredible cocktails, what more can I say? Breakfast and lunch are bubbly and full of incredible options for all dietary restrictions. Vegan turmeric tofu scramble is both vegan and gluten free. Dinner vibes are moody with lots of candlelight. House made pasta and gnocchi, to die for, crab cakes and chicken livers are always raved about. Local beers and spirits, including NA options, served by knowledgable and friendly bartenders. For nearly twenty years Room 39 has served delightful experiences.“
“My husband and I, along with four friends, enjoyed an evening at The Puttery on Saturday and weren't disappointed. It is well executed, and we were greeted immediately by our Concierge, David, who was superb at making sure we had everything we needed. He checked on us frequently. The ambience is very cool with spectacular lighting, artwork and dark wood. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into it, and expense seemed to be no problem. We ordered chips and dips and a charcuterie board, which were filling and delicious. The charcuterie board, in particular, was five star and plentiful for six people. Drinks were very good too. Hats off to the kitchen and the bartender. They definitely know what they're doing. We had a blast playing miniature golf...some courses are more interesting than others, but hearing the crowd hooting and hollering by a missed putt or a hole-in-one added to the excitement of the evening. We'd definitely go back. It's such a great addition to Kansas City.“
“I had the duck and a sake flight. It was delicious and the flight was super interesting. My husband had the salmon. The menu is more set up for sharing, but the 2 dishes we had were full servings. It's also farm table seating. Meaning long tables they sit multiple parties at.Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was stunning.Highly recommend reservations. We got the brownie dessert, this wasn't my favorite and really expensive for $15. The video is of the creme Brule (not the brownie)“
“My friend and I were starving and were going to settle for some mediocre fast food. Chickn n Waffle was right next to us, so we decided to give it a shot. The expectations were low because the building looked outdated and was right next to a weak dispensary. Upon looking it up on google, I was surprised to see it had 4.7 stars! Could it be a stoners paradise? Or could the food really that good? We ordered boneless chicken wings with the Asian chili sauce. The young lady taking our order was as sweet as a belle and had us pull aside for our wings to be freshly fried. A nice gentleman brought out our order with a smile and we unveiled the contents of the takeout container in the parking lot, only to be pleasantly surprised with the portion size and shiny glaze on the inside wings with sesame seeds and thick crispy fries. We tried a fry first and it was crunchy on the outside and a pillow on the inside. Immediately taken back with how perfect the fries were. One dunk into the ranch with a boneless wing, it headed straight for me mouth. Jesus must’ve been in that kitchen, because that was the juiciest, freshest, perfectly seasoned, most amazing chicken wing I’ve ever had. I will come here again. Enjoy. Yes, I forgot a photo because I was enticed by the food and forgot.“
“I've been here a few times and it's always enjoyable. They had a pretty impressive live musician playing. The wait staff despite being very busy were still very friendly and attentive. The menu is fairly small but the quality is excellent for every dish I've tried. The cocktails are unique and delicious. If you're looking for a fun dining experience, I recommend dropping by Murphy's Corner.“
“My roommate and I stopped in here for the first time today and it will definitely not be the last. We ordered the Russell burger and Turkey Club and both sandwiches were amazing and the carrot cake is to die for. I loved the atmosphere and the staff were fast and so friendly. Even though they were extremely busy, we really weren't waiting long for our food and they had adequate seating.“
“Matthew took great care of watching out for food allergies and offering suggestions on meals. The Edame Guacamole dip on gluten-free pita bread a grwat starter. Steak salad was tasty and rare just right with meat on the tough side which was surprising as it looked perfect. The pot roast dip sandwich was very good. A great date night was had. Thank you.Vegetarian options: Several choices we'll marked and your server will be happy to point you to good options.Dietary restrictions: Gluten, pork, almonds, mango, dairy and chocolate. Still plenty to choose from or options to make a dish safe for you.Parking: Street parking full and was able to park in free parking garage right next door. Plenty of lighting and felt safe.“
“Very neat dive bar and a very good Bloody Mary. Stopped in on a Sunday and the crowd was a mix. Felt like the place had a kind of people they prefer and we didn't necessarily fit in. I'd try again just to see if it was an off day but...“
“If I could give it 10 stars I would! This is a family owned business, you get that feel as you walk in the door. The staff goes above & beyond. For those that want good home cooked food just give it a try and you will be hooked! There really isn’t too many places out there like this place anymore. I love love love the sweet iced tea and of course our waitress Kenna!Kid-friendliness: Kenna is just a big kid herself so of course there is gonna be kid friendliness up in there!“
“Went to this restaurant on a recommendation. Since it was Sunday it was breakfast only. That's fine since I was in the mood for breakfast. Water was served in glass bottles where you pour more for yourself, which I like because you never know when the waiter will be back around to refill. Decided on the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and hash browns. While I was waiting for my food, I noticed the music playing in the background. Kind of reminds me of the music that's played at an aerobics studio. Helps you wake up and feel energized. I was happy with the amount of food that I had. Country fried steak wasn't too big nor to little. Enough to get you full but not to the point of going back to bed. I liked what I saw on the menu. Interesting twists on some classic breakfast items. However I would like to see some simple classics on the menu. Some folks just like good old eggs and bacon with a cup of coffee. The only other issue I have is the restroom. Men's side is in need of some cleaning. Markings all over the stall and diaper change table, the blow dry fan having a nasty brown stain on the wall. Best way to avoid that is to install a stainless steel plate in the wall. Makes it way easier to clean. Overall a good visit. But please get the restroom cleaned up.“
“Every time I go into a restaurant, I put in my headphones. I can't stand to hear the nonsense around me and the terrible music.... At niecies, that's not the case at all. The soul and disco playing were music to my ears. My waitress, Tajuana (sorry for the possible misspelling), was super nice and got my tasty breakfast to me quickly! Food was standard breakfast fare but I'm a vegetarian, so I know I was missing out. Anyway, stop there and support your local business! Thanks again!“
“Everything here is incredibly delicious. Their cinnamon rolls are a perfect texture and have a great amount of cinnamon and glaze. Their breakfast sandwich (I get it with bacon) is on one of their super soft, perfect rolls. Their biscuits and gravy is amazing. Maybe my favorite place for breakfast right now.“
“The food is great! They change the drinks, and mocktails are delicious! Great for a lite bite or full meal. The only thing I would change is that they currently only have 1 vegetarian meal. It'd be nice to have 2 or 3 to pick from. But there are several salads and appetizers that work.“
“In all my travels, I haven’t had better food, drink, or service for the price! I stayed at the hotel across the street, and came here every day. I wish I lived here so I could come daily. Sarah, Christina, and Alice all did an amazing job at the bar. Amanda was a stellar server, and Sai is a master on the grill. Martin was observant and helpful as a manager. If I ever come back to this part of KC, I will happily come back and say hello.“
“We were staying at the Hampton Inn downtown and were looking for a good restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. The city market area has about a dozen restaurants to choose from, so we chose this one. It was an excellent choice. The restaurant is very bright due to having a lot of windows, as well as many light fixtures inside. We started with the shrimp toast appetizer, and it was outstanding. It contained toasted pieces of baguette covered in gold shrimp, moray, chives, Sriracha, nuox Cham cauliflower, and sesame crunch. I could just eat that dish again for my dinner. For entrees, we had the Bahn MI sandwich and the grilled quail. The Bahn MI consisted of pork meatballs, bacon pate, pickled vegetables, chili aioli, banana ketchup, chili oil and cilantro. It was very flavorful but a little spicy. My husband had the grilled quail. He loved it. It was accompanied by ginger-lime fried rice. We would definitely return.“
“The atmosphere is great, the food was amazing, and cocktails were delicious! We ordered four dishes to share between two of us which was filling (they recommend 4 to 5). The food did take longer than expected to come out, but their customer service is unmatched!Dietary restrictions: They ask when you sit down if you have any dietary restrictions. They then mark the menu with which dishes to avoid.“
“The 119th location on March 27 th after regular lunch hours was very good and always has been food wise. Our server, a seasoned lady was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL and these youngsters should take serving, respect, kindness and knowledge classes from her. Servers like her are one in a thousand or less.Thank you!!!Dietary restrictions: Excellent observation by our waiter regarding my dairy allergy minus butter.“
“I cannot say enough good things about 1900. We've dined here several times and are never disappointed. The food is some of the best in KC. The atmosphere is laid back, cozy and inviting. The service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about wine and food. We recently had NYE dinner here and had a wonderful dinner with expertly paired wines.“
