“What can I say? This restaurant is an institution. There is no Indian food like it in the United States. Truly authentic and delicious, extremely reasonable prices, perfect ambiance, and wonderfully hospitable. The staff are very kind, personal, and professional. Whether it be Kerala fish curry, puri bhaji from Mumbai, or tandoori chicken, the food covers a vast array of Indian dishes from many regions of the country, with the dinner and lunch buffet alike being plentifully tasty and fulfilling. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is full of community, with many people, from college students to retirees, coming together to enjoy a feast under its roof. As someone who has a deep appreciation of Indian cuisine, I can honestly say that this is some of the best Indian food you will ever find. There are simply no words to do justice to the experience of eating at Bombay Royale and I could not recommend it more highly.”

“There are some restaurants in the area we visit more in the fall and winter months - not the least of which is Noodles in NoHo. We stopped in for lunch today and as always the spring rolls, soup, and rice bowl were the perfect meal for a cool almost-fall afternoon. I’m a big fan of their coconut-based curry soup with udon noodles - it makes me feel as though my whole body is smiling with contentment. We’ve tried most things on the menu and all of them are superb. And on those cold, damp, blustery days ahead nothing beats their spicy offerings to warm you up!”

“This bar is really something special. The staff members are completely lovely - so friendly and conversational and generous. The ambiance is more sophisticated than you’d expect to find in Northampton, without being even the slightest bit pretentious. The drinks are fantastic, and the pizza (when they have it) is top notch. The non-alcoholic cocktails are incredible, too!”

“Best bread I’ve ever experienced! I drive an hour every few weeks to stock up my freezer and probably eat it every day. My favorite so far is the Country bread, but all are great Love the cookbook too, very interesting and enjoyable read for anyone who bakes bread.”

“My dad and I ate here last night before a show at Academy Music. Akasia was our server and we loved her. Our food was the best meal we have ever had together in all of our foodie ventures and we wish it was closer so we could go back. The steak tips were cut in house and resembled filet. The scallops were so good we got a second order. The salad was delicate but really great. My dad got the salmon and he is very picky on salmon, but it was incredible and he was delighted we made the choice to go there. I wish the oysters on the half shell were bigger, but the rest made up for it. My dad is in a wheelchair and everyone was super accommodating. Akasia was on point and knew we had a time crunch and accommodated that and also took some nice photos of us together. Great mock-tails and atmosphere was a 10. Hopefully one day soon we can make it back.”

“Came here for dinner before a show. Service was friendly and quick. Food was good, standard Thai food in America fare. Plenty of vegan options. The fried tofu and eggplant dish was delicious and they make sure to ask if you want oyster sauce or not.”

“Came here with family on one of many returns visits home. Had been years since last here. Love this classic, clean, romantic Italian restaurant in Northampton. Food was delicious, with perfect portions, great quality, and lovingly prepared.

I ordered the carbonara which was phenomenal!!

“Edamame actually steamed to perfection at this place, which is not always a given. Spicy miso is a must for all the spice lovers. I put this up there with some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. Glad to live so close to it. Also, service was above and beyond. I was surprised how slow it was for a Friday evening but maybe that’s cause there’s no booze? 10/10 would recommend.”

“The chef is an amazing cook who knows and loves the cuisine he serves to each table! I was disappointed with options in Noho for sit down service, so we were lucky to snag a table. While the atmosphere isn't overly creative, it is simple and bright, which further allows the food to shine. We ordered jasmine green tea with and without sweetener, both were delicious and piping hot. The scallion pancakes were fantastic, not overly greasy, and dusted with a delicious sweet sour spice mix. The noodle soup was warm and slippery, congee wet and flavorful, and the oyster pancake was crispy and fluffy. The textures and flavors didn't disappoint and I'd happily return for another meal. The menu is simple and without detailed descriptions, but once you know the dish, say congee, it's easy to make choices from options offered. My MIL struggled with lack of familiarity with many of the dishes, but happily tried something new when given an explanation. She raved about her tea and immediately went to the store to find a dupe, it wasn't comparable to the beverage served in house”

“Perhaps the last remaining dive bar in Northampton. There are darts, pool tables, and affordable drinks. Though the food only consists of chips, they are awesome enough to allow you to bring your own (which includes ordering a whole pizza from down the street!)

Friday night crowd had a mix of all ages and all ethnicities. As a Black woman, this was one of the few times I felt comfortable in a late night establishment in this town. Cheers to Ye Ol' Watering Hole and its awesome bartenders! 🍻”

Though I initially tried to pay with a card, they kindly informed me they only accept cash, directing me to the nearby ATM. Within minutes, my order of four slices, totaling around eight dollars, was served – one neatly packed to go, and the other plated for immediate enjoyment. To top it off, the owner generously included a complimentary can of soda. As I savored my slice, I couldn't help but appreciate the friendly atmosphere, even catching snippets of lively conversation from fellow patrons. A solid 10/10 experience all around!”

Max and Mirna add to the sweet ambiance. Service was great- I tried to order caramel sauce, but our server recommended I get the homemade penuche, which had a similar taste; it was lighter and grainier than caramel but delicious! Very glad we stopped by here!”

The Culinary Arts Department at the Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School operates a student-run restaurant three days a week, Wednesday through Friday of most weeks, from 10:45 AM to 12:30 PM. The students, under the supervision of three chef instructors, learn every aspect of food preparation and service. There is menu service on Wednesdays and Thursdays and an all you can eat buffet on most Fridays, which is currently priced at only $15.00. The menu changes weekly and is posted online. This is genuinely one of the hidden gems of the Pioneer Valley.”

“We always love to discover new, wonderful patisseries when we travel. Tart Baking Co is delightful! They have delicious strong coffee! We loved our cappuccinos! ☕️ the croissants ? were great! They have amazing Pain Au Raisin and Monkey Bread ? The sandwiches looked delicious! Service was quick, polite and laid back. Very cool vibe! Only a few tables and no dedicated parking. Street parking was easy and you can use an app to pay. No bathroom on premises. Delightful bakery!”

With that said since the reopening after the pandemic the pizza has been over cooked to the point it is burnt to a crisp, and I mean to a crisp! The old chef has obviously moved on. The last two pizzas I picked up where barely eatable. The left overs were tossed. I used to be a Saturday night regular. The pizza was the best in town for YEARS. Now it seems it’s the worst. I’ll give them one more shot. Three strikes and your out! Replace the pizza chef or at the very least get them cooking lessons.”

“Packards far exceeded expectations. Fried pickles came with 3 great sauces definitely recommend. Burgers are large and well seasoned. Duck sliders were tasty and the fries tasted very fresh. Super cool interior will try the pool tables next time. Definitely worth a stop when in Northampton”

“We order your Whopper with cheese, the best! Also order the Original Chicken Sandwich, problem is it’s thrown together poorly. A lame pice of lettuce, doesn’t even cover the chicken, mayo spread weakly. This happens ALL THE TIME. Please fix issue!”
