“The best place I’ve ever been to for a birthday celebration! The waiter Michael was on point with everything we needed at the table! No need to ask him for anything because he brought it perfectly on time! Highly recommend this place!!!Parking: The hardest thing was finding parking spots! One person even got a huge ticket so be mindful that where ever you park look for signs!“

“Absolutely loved it! We had the karami and enmi ramen, and shared the gyoza. We finished every last drop of the ramen and wanted to bathe in the sauce on the gyoza OMG. It was thriving and happening on a Wednesday night, and the waitstaff were lovely and attentive. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu!“

“No frills, good, cheap eats here. One dish, two options: (no) delicious garlic and (2 or 5) pork pieces. Cafeteria-style seating inside, often a wait in line outside. At the end you'll be invited to share your dreams with other diners (no obligation). The staff will also gently "rate" you on how well you finished your meal (many"good jobs" with a few "perfects" is common). Come here for a humble, filling meal in a communal setting. The ramen: delicious, hearty, and big! Come hungry, especially if you get the 5-piece bowl. The pork is perfectly roasted, and the broth is flavorful though salty. Ask for less salty broth if you prefer. The noodles are fresh and tender and provide a nice chewy bite next to the bean sprouts.Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options.Kid-friendliness: The vibe is casual and kid-friendly. Just make sure they're not a picky eater. There's only one dish on the menu!Wheelchair accessibility: No accessibility. The restaurant is small and accessed only by stairs at the front of the building.“

“This was one of the BEST omakase experiences I have ever had. The attention to detail was extraordinary. I ate at several two and three star Michelin restaurants last summer in France and I was happier with my dining experience at Umami. The quality of ingredients is absolutely stellar and it is truly a treat for all the senses. Go!!“

“We got the salmon cups, which was very hearty and yummy! We also got the Botan Ebi Ikura and the Miso Butter Cod and another handroll which I forgot but all were so fresh and delicious in their own ways. We did have to wait 20 minutes to be seated since it is a small space, but it was totally worth it!“

“I ordered takeout here to try it for the the first time and unfortunately, while walking with the food to a park, broth started spilling onto me through the bag. I opened it to find the deli container was fully cracked on top and I had lost over half the broth. I poured from the bag what I could into the bowl, but everything was greasy and it really dampened the experience. The food itself was phenomenal which is why I'm still giving 4 stars, but I'm really disappointed in losing so much broth due to either cheap or roughly handled deli containers. I have my own deli containers I've been reusing from takeout for months now and have never had one crack like this.“

“This was an amazing Omasake experience in Lexington. Chef Mike prepares all of the sushi fresh in front of you. He is committed to pushing himself to create unique and different flavors. Definitely the best omakese we've had in the Boston area. Could not recommend more if you want great food with a relaxed, cozy atmosphere.“

“I have been to Japonaise for nearly 3 decades and all other locations they used to own. This little gem is operated by Takeo and his mom. Pure labor of love. Takeo works as primary baker. Everything here are delicious from breads, pastries, cakes, and some savory - Japanese delicacies. Takeo works very very long hours everyday making all of these. Wonderful folks. Asuki cream is my all time favorite.“

“I'm not even vegan and this is the best god damn ramen I've ever had. I eat a lot of ramen in a lot of cities all over the US and Europe, and now I wish I lived in Boston so I could eat this all the time. If you like spicy food and flavorful broth with body I highly recommend the Red Hot Miso.“

“WOWOW a must go in Boston. This place does not disappoint. Literally everything was delicious. All the appetizers were fried to perfection with a light tasting batter. The curry beef udon was SO GOOD. Savory and delicious. The curry taste was perfect, not overbearing. The udon was cooked well, not too soft nor hard. The kanten dessert was a nice and light dessert. Not too sweet. The decor inside is adorable. The flowers and banners really make a difference. It was a lil spot that made me feel like I was jumping into Japan. Service was fast. We didn't have to wait too long for our group of 6. Very accommodating. If you make a reservation, make sure to be on time. They are strict which is understandable because it's a small space. Super great! If you are in Boston, you gotta try this place!!“

“My dining experience at Fuji at Newton was nothing short of spectacular! Right from the moment we walked in, the ambiance set a high expectation with its sleek, modern decor that felt both inviting and upscale. The lighting and music were perfectly set to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and family gatherings. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that were spot on. It's rare to find a place where the staff is genuinely enthusiastic about their offerings, and this enthusiasm was infectious! Now, onto the star of the show - the food. Fuji at Newton offers an extensive menu that explores the rich flavors of Japanese cuisine with innovative twists that are both creative and delicious. We started with the Gyoza, which were perfectly pan-fried to a delightful crisp on the outside while remaining succulent on the inside. But the real game-changer was the sushi - each piece was a work of art, fresh and flavorful, with the sushi rice seasoned to perfection. The Dragon Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll were particularly memorable, each bite bursting with freshness and complex flavors that danced on the palate.“

“O Ya was a place I've been trying to get to for 3-4 years. On an episode of the youtube series Hot Ones where celebs eat progressively hotter wings Salma Hayek proclaimed O Ya as her favorite restaurant. When I heard it was a restaurant in Boston I knew I had to try it. Each piece was creatively constructed and layered with complimentary flavors. Pictured here is the entire 20 course omakase plus 1 extra (the umi toast). If you look at the image of the menu and zoom in there are additional items you can add to your courses. I asked the waiter if I went with just one what does he suggest and he said the umi toast and I'm happy he did. The umi toast was a crispy tangent that I really appreciated. There is a steep price tag to eat here, but you will be here for 2-2.5 hours so I think of it more like an edible art show. I had an amazing time here and I hope you do as well.Vegetarian options: My wife got the vegetarian omakase of 20 pieces and if I get back here sometime I want to try it. They put just as much effort into the vegetarian menu as they do the regular one. My wife was also really impressed with 99% of the vegetarian menu. The crushed ice shisho leaf was the one piece that wasn't her style, but I tasted it from her dish and thought it was delicious.“

“Ingredients are always super fresh with a lot of different vegetables, noodles and fishcakes to choose from. The food is consistently good, for a decent price, and one of my favorite places to eat in Boston. They also have gluten free options listed. On weekends it’s best to get there early (close to opening time) as the wait can be up to an hour (or more) at busy times!“

“What a great experience at Fuki.. the staff was quick, attentive and friendly but not overbearing which made for a very pleasant meal. I decided to try the set menu which for $45 a person was a great deal. I thought the spicy seafood salad was delicious as well as the chefs choice sashimi and rainbow maki. They had plenty of seating and nice low lighting which was relaxing. I will be recommending Fuki to friends and family for years to come. Hats off to the chef, keep up the good rolling.“

“Deluxe Sashimi Platter ⭐️ It was great! It's really fresh and there are a lot of varieties, except for the sea urchin, which is a bit fishy Octopus Carpaccio ⭐️ The seasoning is very refreshing and the octopus is very chewy, I love it Torched Japanese Scallop ⭐️ It was very light, I couldn't really taste the seasoning, but it was very tender Unagi Don ⭐️ A friend ordered this. “Delicious and fresh sushi and sashimi at a hidden spot! But as the saying goes, the aroma of wine is not afraid of the depth of the alley. Come on, store! We got the toro tataki and scallop uni tataki as well as the toro hand roll from the omakase menu, and the lunch special makimono. All amazingly tasty and we are hungry for more!“

“We really enjoyed this spot. It was very busy when we came by. They gave us a menu to look at while we waited. We got edamame, pork gyoza and Niku Udon. So yummy! Gyoza was perfectly crispy. My daughter practically inhaled the edamame, I only got a few! The noodles were chewy and delicious. And the meat was so tender it just fell apart. Open kitchen so you can kinda see the cooking happening. And the server will help you package your soup up to go, which I greatly appreciated. Will definitely be back to try something else from the menu“

“This is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The fatty blue fin tuna is like wagyu of tuna (see picture). This type of cut is very rare. The place is not very big, with about 30 seats, so if it’s busy you may need to wait to be seated. Luckily the service is very fast and on-point. The chef (itamae) is super friendly and can create a-la-carte rolls.Super Fusion Sushi is now my favorite sushi place in the Boston area. Two thumbs up!!“

“This restaurant has a very cool vibe and decor. The he down stairs is. Must see. The star for me was the crispy rice. The spicy tuna was probably the best I've ever had. Each dish was artistically presented. Overall, I think it was bit pricy, but it was very delicious.“

“A great restaurant right in the heart of Davis Square. I came here on a Saturday night with a group (reservation was made ahead of time) and it was a full restaurant. We ordered the Scallop Hokkaiyaki and the fried chicken to share as appetizers and then I ordered the Kemo Seiro (cold soba w/ hot duck dipping sauce). I enjoyed both appetizers, the scallops were small and flavorful and the fried chicken was crispy. The soba was fresh and the dipping sauce was pretty sweet. The duck meat was good and had a thin layer of fat that had plenty of flavor in it. The server was great in allowing us plenty of time to order, filling our waters, and time to split the bill. Overall, a great place to grab food and I would definitely like to try their sushi if I come back.“

“I highly recommend the salmon dumpling, the first bite was really amazed. There were only 3 dumplings, and, my friend and I were two people. But the waiter was kind enough to give one more, just so we could share it evenly. The sea urchin soba noodles and oysters were really great as appetizers.“

“Last weekend, my partner and I decided to explore the much-raved-about Fuji at Ink Block in Boston's vibrant South End. Let me just say, the experience was nothing short of spectacular, surpassing our expectations in every possible way.We started with the Edamame Truffle Dumplings, which were absolutely divine, offering a burst of flavors that left us eagerly anticipating what was to come. For our main course, we opted for the Chef's Selection Sushi and the Black Cod Miso. Each sushi piece was a work of art, fresh and full of flavor, demonstrating the chef's skill and attention to detail. The Black Cod Miso was simply sublime, with the fish perfectly cooked, flaky, and infused with a delicate balance of sweetness and umami.“

“First of all, I can't believe we waited so long to go back to this place, since we live less than half a mile away. This is such a unique place in Chinatown, with very creative (and well made) cocktails and a menu for just about anyone's palate. After seeing a segment on TV, I really wanted to try the burger and it might be one of the top 5 burgers I've ever had (and I have had thousands). The Bao bun is just so good, as was the sauce and the pickles. Top it off with a side of duck fat fries and you have the perfect burger. We were there on a Monday night around 6:45 and the place was packed. The bar too. No pictures but I wish I had. Will definitely be back to try more of the menus.“

“I recently stumbled into Pagu on a particularly rainy day in Boston (you know, one of those sideway rainstorm days). Covered in mud, I snagged one of the last bar seats available. Opting for my usuals - roasted mushrooms and ramen - I paired them with a glass of wine and a good book, enjoying the restaurant's laid-back atmosphere. To my surprise, Chef/Owner Tracy Chang had hand delivered my dinner! Her radiant smile alone was enough to brighten up an otherwise atrocious day for me. Chang's innovative approach to dining shines through in every dish, prioritizing creativity and kindness - a sentiment echoed by the attentive staff at Pagu. It's no wonder that Pagu remains a cornerstone of Central Square.“

“J and J is my families new spot for Asain tasty treats. Jean is a fantastic owner. She makes you feel like family from the time you enter the establishment. Sushi was fresh and delicious. They even made a special chicken tempura roll for my wife and added it to their POS ordering system for future visits. We call it the Elisabet roll named after my wife of course. My kids smashed every morsel of food on their plates which is especially rare for my picky 6 year old daughter who just loved her fried rice and Salmon. Kids meals are adult size so it's a great value . I had two Scorpion ? Bowls which got me feeling pretty lively. I imagine moving forward we will be doning weekly at J & J . Jean and staff thanks for the wonderful time.Blessings,Phillips Family“

“Best Don Katsu (pork cutlet) place I've ever been in Boston! So warm and crispy, with delicious sauce, hearty portion, and quick serving. Price is budget-friendly (considering that it's Boston) relative to the huge pork cutlet, salad, miso soup, and rice that all comes in one. Great for hungry students who need heartwarming meal. :) The server lady was nice and friendly, and the restaurant is small, but they also have tables outside. Uber eats delivery and lunch specials are available as well, so would definitely recommend to others as well as try it again myself next time.“

“Uni was great, but on the pricier side. Nigiri was the star of the show; we tried 6 different fish, but the toro was my absolute favorite. It just MELTS. If you're going to try any sashimi it has to be the tuna tataki with foie gras *chefs kiss*. The wild turbot was also delicious. The fiddlehead tempura was the only thing we ordered that was underwhelming. Atmosphere is a cool, loungey vibe but it's a little difficult to find the bathroom (definitely ask the staff).“

“Very traditional and authentic Japanese cuisine served in a classic traditional setting. Most importantly the raw fish was extremely fresh and authentically sourced and prepared. They’d a raw octopus appetizer which was delicate and delicious, the sweet shrimp was super sweet, and the baby yellowtail was like butter. The uni from Maine was more like sweet Japanese uni and better tasting than San Diego uni. The hamachi kama was a treat and huge. This is as good as best sushi in Tokyo and very fresh and authentic, yet unbeatable prices especially for Boston.“
