People were genuinely shocked when they found out it was vegan! Not only did it taste amazing, but it was also stunning—exactly what I envisioned. “Pretty sure we may have tried all the different sauces for the wings by now. I can’t even tell you which is my favorite cause they’re all so good. The chicken is always super crisp and flavorful. Everything is made to order so you have to wait a bit before they bring it out but it’s very worth the wait! The sides are huge, definitely shareable. I also tried the ramen bowl. The regular one. DELICIOUS 🤤 fun, upbeat place to watch the World Cup games also.”

Food’s always cozy, portions are generous, and their banchan’s top tier, which they bring out first while you wait for the food.

My favorite personal go-to’s always boil down to gamjatang or kalguksu - but you really can’t miss picking anything off the menu.

“A hidden treat in Ellicott City, this unassuming location hides some of the best Korean BBQ available. They have one of the closest authentic dining experiences to what I had while living in South Korea. Meats are well-marinated and full of flavor. Same for the side dishes which often include some unique items not typically served at other establishments. Entrees other than BBQ come in generous portions.

The facility is a bit dated, even with their recent makeover, but this almost adds to the authenticity. The service is outstanding and makes it very welcoming. The menu does need to be updated as some things like the lunch boxes are no longer available. It is located on the second floor of the building, but a ramp is available with a slightly longer walk if you want to avoid stair climb.

Definitely recommended for a truly authentic and delicious Korean dining experience.”

They even offered to refrigerate it for us! After dinner, they brought us fresh plates, forks and a knife. Despite being very busy they also don't rush you too much.”

The eating area is very plain and no frills, but it's sufficient.

The bulgogi was very tasty. The dumplings were nice and crispy. Everything came out hot. The garnishes and mini soft drink at the end were a nice touch.

I thought my bulgogi was a bit heavy on the onions. And the dumplings could have used a little sauce. But overall, highly recommended.”

The staff was very helpful in helping me to select what my taste was feeling. I picked up some type of cream cheese filled pastry with a sweet red bean filling under the cream cheese. Perfect for a protein energy boost. It was quite delicious, you could taste the real butter...I really enjoyed my visit.

“Very welcoming place. Unpretentious. Drinks were delish. Espresso martini! We love seeing people of varied cultures, just hanging and talking with each other. I was reluctant to get the ribs because I read a review saying they were dry. Mine were delicious. It wasn’t a saucy rib, and that’s how I like it. I’m sure you could ask for sauce. Husband had steak and rice. The staff is very accommodating. The onion rings were great. Wish I had some left! Plenty of TV’s to see a game in the bar area. There is also a dining room area away from the tv/bar area. Comparing this experience to a Navy Yard sports bar yesterday, we enjoyed today’s Bare Bones meal over yesterday’s DC sports bar hands down. Our server was great. Friendly, quick and respectful. It was like going to your friend’s house for a meal. We’ll be back…Definitely to watch some football this season. I’ll have to try something else next time to see if their other dishes fare as well.”

The cooler is stocked with Coke, Pepsi, and Dr Brown products. There are some interesting flavor combos, and surprise me they work! If you're looking for spicy try the Tommy Gun, it's become my favorite, especially with the cheddarwurst. The Mac and cheese appears and tastes homemade, and the potatoe salad was a great side with the Tommy Gun.”

“Being an all timer fan for Hangry Joe's, came across this branch and this beats all the others I have tried so far. Amazing service and serving size. Tried their Sando (really big than usual), Wings with 2 different flavors (really loved the Spicy Zing) and their Loaded fries.
Their loaded fries being crispy really stands out and the flavor stands out. They do have iced teas as well if you want to try them. Really glad to find this amazing joint in Ellicott City!”
