“B and Js is a hub for the community, if someone doesn't know where to go, one uses B and Js as a landmark. Kids bike up to get food and the older folks view it as nostalgic.

I've tried almost everything on the menu but now, and I have yet to taste something I didn't like. I would personally recommend the Ruben or Italian sausage if you want something warm and filling, and the Italian cold cut if you're feeling for something cool and lighter.

The ice cream is amazing, and the chocolate malt is very dense. I prefer chocolate or mixed everything, so I can't speak for anything else.

The staff have always been friendly and helpful, even when I'm convinced there is an item on the menu that is called by a totally different name 😅“

“One of those neighborhood gems that punches way above its weight class. It deserves to be a lot more consistently packed with diners and bar customers for the quality of food and drink.

It's not an Instagram trap and located in a modest shopping center where the anchors are a Home Depot, post office, and animal hospital, so IYKYK. My only request is they bring their roast duck entree back to the menu, that was my go-to and so delicious.“

(Minus the almond cookies.) and it was delicious but it was soft as butter so I had to request a spoon 😮 On top of that, the bartender complimented not only my neurodivergent tattoos 🏳️‍🌈♾️ but also gave me a free mocktail. Though I will warn you it’s real strong. I tasted mostly lemon but it had a hint of maple and tea. Which is ironic because strong taste is why I prefer tea over coffee (if I had to pick between the two). Regardless, these people deserve some love especially in the economic crises we have.“

“My husband and I had dinner on a quiet Wednesday evening. We shared guacamole which was very good with some unusual little additions. My husband had the beef steak and loved it. Again unusual ingredients made the dish very delicious. I had the pork which I had enjoyed a year ago and again I loved it! The service was very attentive. “Honestly, this was the best service I’ve ever received! Our server/waiter was Nick and he truly made our day. So much so that we decided to leave him a substantial tip. Nick is very social aware, knowledgeable about their restaurant and items, and he thouroghly explains the highlights of their menu and a brief history of their establishment. He regularly checked in during our dinner but what really sets him apart is his high charismatic and warming energy. This was not only for our table but the surrounding tables as well. Extremely respectful and kind, and a prior service member !

“this was the best experience i had for my birthday and 1st time being here and Timothy was our server and he did an excellent job with his smiles and friendliness and our wonderful bartender Jay zehring was very friendly and kept the smiles going and both were fantastic so whenever you go in greet Timothy and Jay and the drinks were very very good and food was excellent. the whole crew was very friendly and kind and greeted you will lots of smiles and the place is well cleaned and if you have never been to manchester lakes in springfield please do so. i rate them 5 stars 🌟“

“Loved our experience at Mt Vernon Restaurant. The restaurant fits the aesthetic of the rest of the property and feels like a step in the past. Has proper southern fare at a good price. Only disappointment was the wine selection. Even though Virginia has a great wine selection, there was only 1 bottle on the menu.“

“After a 12 hour car ride to our hotel, this was an Amazing and Delicious dinner for our family of 4! Very affordable. We’ve paid a lot more for a lot less, and we even got dessert! Our kids rated it a 10 out of 5 and that’s huge for them. Highly recommend!! Will be back!“

The restaurant wasn't too crowded. Jayla asked if it was our first time at Blackwall Hitch, which it was, so she went over the local favorites. She recommended the flaming crab dip and it was delicious!!! Jayla offered us extra Naan chips which I thought was generous for an upscale restaurant. I asked if she could bring us extra with a to-go box to take the rest of the dip. We also had the mahi mahi tacos and chicken-pancetta flatbread - both were great. Jayla often checked on us. “We have been meaning to try Kiln for a while, and were not disappointed. The restaurant is cozy. The servers were all very dedicated and attentive. And the food was delicious! The cabbage in particular impressed us. Kiln is working hard to serve its hotel clientele from around the country while competing in Old Town - a difficult line to walk. I hope Kiln will continue to learn and grow and become another Old Town staple.“

Base access pass is required.
It is a grill restaurant. Table service is not available. Customers order at the counter to takeout but general seating is available. Food is good and prepared fresh. Portion sizes are good. The cost is reasonable. I recommend for quick meal.“

However, it was the food that stole the show. My steak omelet and my kid’s B&E Burger were the BEST we’ve had since coming to any Bob and Edith’s. I know this is a new location, but I hope they can keep everything to such a high standard.“
