“In the area for work, randomly found STC. We need more work in the area so we can visit again. Shrimp Po Boy is delicious! Highly recommend the crab bomb fries! Doubt you could go wrong with anything. Owners are so nice and welcoming as well! 10/10“
“Such a classic. My mom and I stopped here to grab lunch on a Saturday and I felt like a kid again. The food and atmosphere is the same as it was 20 years ago. I remember coming here all the time on the way to my grandmas for a hot turkey sandwich. Everything is so fresh and homemade and SIMPLE, that's what I love about it.“
“Yesterday, I took my friends to The Walrus Oyster & Ale House and everything we ate there was amazing, including the food. While my friend, Nawfal had a crab cake sandwich there and my friend, Danny had a burger there, I had the Maryland’s best lobster roll and it was the best lobster roll I’ve ever had surpasses the lobster roll I had in Maine. Although I had never been to a restaurant other than The Walrus Oyster & Ale House that serves super delicious hush puppies, they serve the best hush puppies I had ever been to. Their cornbread, along with the butter were so delicious and taste different than store-bought cornbread. Plus, the service and the waitress we had there were amazing. I would love to come back to that place next time we eat in National Harbor for dinner.“
“Ada’s on the river is a fantastic spot for an elevated meal. They food was delish and the atmosphere is very nice. The drinks are great as well. The views are great! It’s a fun spot to meet up with family, friends or to have a date night.Parking: There are 2 different paid parking areas near the restaurant and you can also try your hand at street parking.“
“We tried a brown rice bowl with steak. It was tasty but a ittle spicy. The server was not the best I've had. What we needed didn't seem important enough to remember to bring to us. The host was excellent, it wasn't too noisy and everything was clean“
“What a neat venue in the old part of town, on the riverfront. Great food & service. Parking is a bit tricky, but deck around the corner for $15. Good was superb and fast, though I was there early, was filling up quickly by 6. Bourbon selection is phenomenal. They also do a tasting with their own Kentucky Colonel (reservations required), and have 3 private barrel selections.Reserve a table in advance, you didn't want to miss out on this one!“
“The food is good and fair priced. The staff is always courteous. What more can you ask for? My only complaint is the overcrowding. ? I just wish they’d open up another restaurant maybe within the town. Because if you’re a La Plata local you know the line is often out the door just to pick up your order! But I guess that’s because the food is so popular! Talk about suffering from success. ?? But yes, please consider opening another Marie’s, or just upsizing so we don’t have to fight to get through the doo. (just kidding lol)“
“Sat at the bar and loved the ambience. It’s quaint and can be a nice romantic spot for couples. Our bartender was great and he recommended the prix fixe menu and it was definitely worth it. Got the marinated beets salad, lamb and Crème brûlée! Will definitely return. Great service, great food. What else can one ask for?!“
“This place is nothing short of spectacular. We've added it to the work rotation about a year ago and it's never disappointed. The staff and owner are amazing! Easily the best casual Italian food in the Alexandria area! (Their garlic bread is definitely the best thing since sliced bread!)“
“An absolute gem! Everyone was lovely, the cocktails AND mocktails were delicious, and the small plates were to die for! Can't wait to go back and dig into their wine list. Don't leave without the trying the charred dates or the fried goat cheese, they're knockouts!!Vegetarian options: Some veg small plates, would love to see more veg entrees on the menu“
“Today, our visit to this location was truly exceptional. We received a warm welcome from the hostess, and our waiter, Kenny, provided impeccable service, regularly checking in on us. The managers also ensured our satisfaction. The food, especially the lumberjack and avocado toast, was outstandingly fresh. They have great bar options as well. I loved my watermelon Fresca drink. A visit here is definitely worthwhile.“
“Frrom the moment we stepped into The Majestic, we were enchanted by its charming ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. Every aspect of our dining experience, from the meticulously crafted appetizers to the exquisite entrees, exceeded our expectations. The stuffed dates and crab Rangoons were flavorful delights that left us craving more. My old fashioned cocktail was expertly mixed, complementing the succulent Filet mignon perfectly. Meanwhile, my wife savored every bite of the Majestic Burger paired with a delightful cocktail of her choice. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring our every need was met with warmth and professionalism. Without a doubt, The Majestic has earned its place as a culinary gem in Alexandria, VA. We eagerly look forward to our next visit to indulge in their exceptional offerings once again.“
“We showed up with 20 people…teenagers included. We got marvelous service and the food was great. Absolute best selection of single-malt Scotch I’ve ever seen at a restaurant…!!! We were there until closing time..!!Kid-friendliness: We had 8 teenagers in our party and they wanted to sit on the other side of the restaurant (away from parents…as teenagers do) and the servers never missed a beat…totally took it in stride…we all had a fabulous time.“
“One of my favorite restaurants. I have never been disappointed. The steaks (served with sauce on the side) are perfectly cooked and flavorful. On my recent visit, I ordered the crab chowder, house salad, lamb chops, crab cakes and baked potato. Everything was delicious and the portion size more than I could eat. The staff and service were excellent. I highly recommend this place.“
“I love Hangry Burger! As a newly diagnosed celiac, I am so grateful for Hangry Burger's food philosophy (no wheat flour). This is one place I don't have to worry about cross contamination.Having been in to the location twice (vs the countless other times I've ordered delivery), the service in the restaurant is phenomenal. Very friendly and welcoming!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free“
“O. M. G!!!! The food here is so hot and delicious and served up quickly. The staff here is so polite and friendly too. You have got to go to this restaurant!!! You will not regret it and you will become a regular, if you live in the D. C. Metro Area. No joke, you will!!!“
“Yesterday evening my friends and I visited Vola's Dockside Grill. We sat at smaller bar facing Union Street. Our bartender, Orlando, was among the best I ever experienced. He was attentive, made excellent food and drink recommendations, and made sure we were take care of every step of the way. The food was delicious. We had crab hush puppies, calamari, wings, fries, and a burger. Everything arrived soon after ordering and was cooked to perfection. In particular I enjoyed the wings because they were grilled and had the flavor that only fire can bring. I highly recommend Vola's for the service, food, and the views of King street and the Potomac river.“
“Been coming here as my Fri night spot for about 4 years!2nd generation family-owned restaurant with a mix of dishes that lean Italian, Greek/Medi, Seafood, and American bar fare. They have weekend specials every weekend (entree and dessert), and a special Mon/Tues dinner/wine combo menu. Bottom line, the food is EXCELLENT, and also priced very well. One of (if not) the best Gin selections in Old Town! The Bourbon and Scotch selections are also above average. 8 beers on tap that largely stay the same (unfortunately).Live Jazz every night on the restaurant side, which depending on the group/performer can still be heard on the bar/lounge side.Parking: Parking garage that's free after 5p and on weekends, down a side driveway.“
“Awesome little place, with the best service. Went looking for a simple dinner and ended up with the evening hibachi style food. Yum yum sauce was superb! When I asked about it, the young man said it was a family recipe. Absolutely worth try. Limited seating, but they do have carryout also.“
“I will open with this; GW would be PROUD. The Mount Vernon Restaurant, compared to the thought of what it might be, is nothing short of a quaint and elegant establishment. For a restaurant embedded in a museum one would imagine the many grab and go or poor service options found in many if not all of the DC attractions nearby, but rest assured this is not that. The prices are affordable. The food is delicious. The service is wonderful. My only complaint? I was not expecting the shear amount of food coming my way. The chicken and waffles were simple and astounding. My partner's shrimp and grits were, in her words, "just like ma momma used to whip up!" The cornbread appetizer was fresh. Our drinks, neat and clean. The list goes on. I should also add that the menu was overwhelming... in a great way. I could hardly contain my giddiness when attempting to make my choice. If you are exploring the beauty of Mount Vernon with family or friends, or even on your lonesome, you have NO excuse to bypass this overachieving establishment.“
“Highly recommend for wedding receptions or other events. Cheryl and her team are extremely professional and are about as "experts" as you can get hosting large scale events. We were beyond thrilled with how our wedding reception went, and it was all due to the amazing team at USPH! Great location for a reasonable price as well. 10/10“
“More people need to go to this place! I walked into the place and the staff was so welcoming. I order the chicken banh mi and the pork belly as well. The 2 sandwiches were great. It was super fresh the bread was homemade and crispy yet soft on the inside. And the meat was so tender and flavourful. I would definitely recommend HarpaZo and I will be coming back again.“
“Alex (Bartender) and Chico (Boss applesauce) were absolutely amazing. Superior knowledge of the menu, and very conscious with allergies. Absolutely amazing experience from front to back. If you’re shopping at Wegmans and tired of how hard your week was, you better come here or you’re “
“A very colonial experience, in decor, food and of course the man dressed in period clothing coming around each table for entertainment. Food was very good, I had the roast chicken and my husband the duck, both with roasted potatoes and veggies. My martini was on point too. Only complaint is the noise level in the dining room we were in was way too loud at times. Noise on those plaster walls bounces...if you are noise sensitive, bring ear buds.“
“What a fantastic place to host a happy hour for teachers. The ambiance was nice and relaxing after a tough week. The food was delicious, and the services were outstanding. I must thank our bartender, Richie, for his knowledge and creative mixology and the manager, Juliet, for being approachable and welcoming questions. They treated us like we were part of the family. Thanks Ted's we will be back.“
“This place was the place serving food past 11 and I am so glad I came here. Customer service was good. Stayed downstairs due to a party going on upstairs. Food and drinks were very good.Ordered the:Grilled lamb burger: 9/10 I wish it had a little more of the yogurt sauceFries: seasoned well and fried just enough for a light crispChadwick’s reserve Manhattan: very good, do not get if not a fan of bitters“
“Atmosphere was depressing and service was average. Just buying some sandwhiches. The price was more than I expected I ordered 3 sandwhiches and a juice and it came out to 45$. Not insane considering prices these days but for how dumpy the place is I was hoping to walk out paying 35$ tops. That said, the King Street sandwich was fantastic. The Cali club was average but healthy portions. The food was ready when I arrived in 15 minutes and was still warm.I’d come back again for the king street sandwhich (pictured below) but otherwise not really worth the price IMO.If these came out to 10$ a piece with tax, this place would be outstanding.Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly. Just a run down sandwich shop.“
“I'm a big fan of cocktail bars and have visited at least 200 around the world. Ryan is one of the most fun and knowledgeable bartenders I've ever met! The drinks are phenomenal and creative. Their menu is very enjoyable, and ordering off-menu is full of surprises. Highly recommended!“
“Very well decorated definitely New Orleans vibe lively and crowded ,service was fine not over the top but met the requirements I ordered the mac n cheese it was good, collard greens were good but didn't have the kick I expected the cornbread I didn't like. The presentation is awesome but it is my preference to have a softer fluffier texture however if you like what is probably the original texture of cornbread you may like it. The portions are healthy.“
“Absolutely amazing chili! I loved the Texas and Cincinnati, ultimately went with the Texas with beans. Adding their chili vinegar was a delicious touch!Loved it so much I bought two of their spice packs to make at home.I'm leaving tomorrow but wish I had come in here sooner!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian chili, excellent!“
“It was my first time visiting the restaurant, and I enjoyed my time. My server was awesome. I wanted something off the dinner menu and made it happen. Will go back to try other dishes. I'm not much for crowds, but it was okay. I was seated in a little area by the bar, and that was all I needed to enjoy the time.“
“Excellent restaurant. I just happened to wonder by and decided to go in for dinner. It was great and everyone in my party thought so too. The waiter was right on top of things and dinner came quickly. The restroom was clean. I would definitely go back.“
“We finally got a chance to try this. They are closed on weekends. The hotdogs are good very big dogs cooked right with good flavor. The buns were soft and fit the dog well. Good overall nothing spectacular but if your looking for a quick bite to eat go by here. Inwould give them 8 out of 10 stars.“
“We’ve been to City Kitchen twice recently, and have had really nice experiences. The food is flavorful and hot, the drink portions are solid, the music is fun, and our server Robert is great — he is very attentive and friendly! It’s nice to have a reliable local restaurant that has something for everyone. We will be back!Parking: Parking lot out front is huge and spots are widely available“
“I was truly blown away by how delicious every single dish at The Study was. As a Guatemalan, I found the creative use of Latin American ingredients and flavors in the unique dishes at The Study not only interesting and creative but also familiar and nostalgic. I love it when food takes me to a happy place. Chef Tomas Chavarria and chef Madeline Guzman can really create magic in the kitchen. Some of my favorite dishes included the kalbi ssam short rib lettuce wraps, the sweet plantain empanadas, the Costa Rican ceviche, the duck magret and achiote, the tres leches, and the coffee flan. I also loved the seasonal cherry blossom-inspired cocktail and the mocktail they prepared specially for me. I really loved the ambiance, and even though I had dinner here with friends, I think this is the perfect restaurant for a date night or for celebrating something special.“
“4 stars-Why only 4? I don't mind tipping as long as the service is good and the food is great but when you set it up for an automatic 20% gratuity no matter what you order, I think that's a bit much (especially if service/food is bad). Thankfully, the service and food were good so I'll let it slide. But be warned, you will receive the automatic 20% added to your check. My husband ordered one beer and it was added, so it doesn't matter you get, it's added. Now let's get to why you're here (lol)! The restaurant is located inside the Harborside hotel and they offer breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. You may also order room service until 11pm I believe. They have a nice setup and bar area to enjoy and fellowship with friends. It was a dreary and rainy day so we opted to stay in for breakfast. We were seated rather quickly as it was not busy at all. The sever was very nice and friendly and assisted us with any questions. So, we came in for breakfast but found out they actually serve brunch at 11am, so we hung around until that time. We did opt for a few plated items to hold us over until brunch. We had seasoned potatoes, blueberry muffins and a bagel. This along with coffee and mimosas kept up busy until brunch started. Let me tell you the brunch did not disappoint! It was a bit pricey (34.99 pp) but worth every penny. Keep in mind the 20% is added. The Brunch is a buffet and I normally don't eat buffets but we were the first people there so that eased our mind (beat the crowd before people came with all the touching and breathing over stuff) the food is located in the roller style pans that close so that's a plus. This particular brunch offered so many different options it's hard to name them but they do provide fresh fruit, desserts and an omelette station as well. It's definitely worth the money, however I would suggest getting there early.“
“My recent visit to The Executive Diner in Alexandria, VA, for breakfast was quite a pleasant experience. The diner boasts ample parking and a variety of seating options, both indoors and outdoors, which is great for any weather or occasion. They are also kid-friendly, making it a stress-free choice for families. We tried the sausage and biscuits, which were served in a generous portion size, ideal for sharing. The maple sausage, eggs, and French toast combo was tasty, although the eggs were a bit runny and the French toast was slightly over-fried around the edges. However, the softer parts of the French toast were delicious, especially with the berries, even if a tad too sweet.A highlight was the freshly pressed orange juice, which I recommend enjoying over a separate glass of ice for the best experience. Despite the small critiques, the overall meal was delightful, and I'm eager to return to The Executive Diner to satisfy my morning cravings.“
“Excellent food, cooked perfectly and for a great price. $34 for what looked like a 8oz+ filet mignon, handmade mashed potatoes and haricot verts. The lamb was also flavorful and around the same price. Service was good. Ambiance was decent. Will definitely come back the delicious food and the great value.“
“I initially stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat while in the middle of a prior engagement. The atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting. The young lady who took my order was personable and professional. She ensured that I had incite regarding menu options and made an awesome recommendation. I wished I had more time to enjoy the ambiance and immediate sense of belonging and being invited into a hidden gem of an experience. I will absolutely return and ensure that I have more time to spend when I do!“
“Very small homey, little restaurant, where everybody seemed to know everyone else. The waiters were all very nice and welcoming as well. It took a while for the food to come out and for the them to get us a check, but that's to be expected at such a small spot. I got the breakfast plate with a fish cake, potatoes, and scrambled eggs. The food wasn't amazing per se, but it was decent, and well cooked. I tried my mom's scrapple, and that was probably the best thing there. Overall, the restaurant had a very welcoming homey type vibe, and the food fit the restaurant.“
“Came for brunch on a Saturday and sat at the bar. Bartenders were great to talk with, drinks lovely, and food very good. I can only speak to the atmosphere in the bar, but I thought it was very cool, laid back, with just the right amount of sophistication. I'm gluten free and there were enough choices that I felt I could pick from. Bathrooms were clean. Parking is easy but can look deceiving; the joint parking is for many businesses so hard to tell from outside how busy the restaurant is. I'd definitely be back again.“
“Very impressed with the customer service! The young lady at the counter today was so helpful and had great energy. This place has good food for sure, I got the crab fries and whiting fish. The crab fries were delicious , there was lots of crab meat!“
“This is our weekly go-to. Whether you want pizzas or sandwiches, there is something for everyone. They're really kid-friendly and have high chairs and booster seats. The outdoor patio has heaters; low chairs require boosters. Pets are allowed on the edges of the patio. They have a long beer list with some ciders thrown in.Friday evenings gets really packed, so arrive early or late and plan to wait a bit. Pass the time by rating dessert first at the Custard Shack next door.“
“I have been going here for years. This is definitely my go to place for date night, an intimate girls night out, or just to grab some really tasty food. I've never been disappointed. Not only are the staff friendly and down-to-Earth, but the owner is the chef who works every time I've been there. You can see her popping in and out as she frolics in her moments of free time with return customers and close friends who help keep the business poppin. This place is so good, that I really believe this is a gem! Food is consistent and delicious. Cheese selection is always fresh and exciting. The chef really takes pride in her work and it shows. Her rotating menu as well as seasonal cocktails are just proof to any foodie of a person who is passionate about food and the dining experience. If you want to grab a seat at the bar and sneak a peek at the amazing chef as she pops by for a refreshment, or take a seat at a table and enjoy some quaint romantic moments w your guest, you will love it.Because the food is amazing, it is a little pricey. Be prepared to drop at least $80-$100 for two people. However, there are better priced items on the menu, as well as drinks. My personal favs are the Cotswold mac n cheese w crispy onions, ANYTHING with duck (especially the salad), and the daily risotto.Vegetarian options: The meat is definitely the strong suit of this place for most dishes. However, there are available options on the menu for non-meat eaters that are also good and don't feel like an afterthought.Parking: It is a shared free parking lot with the other shops and boutiques in the upper-class strip-mall there. Sometimes when it is really busy, you might have to park 30more steps away from the door, but this food is worth more than 30 extra steps.Kid-friendliness: Not many "kids" items on the menu. But if the supposed child likes to eat good food, this is def a place for them. The crowd who goes tends to be older (I don't see too many kids there regularly), but the cheeseburger and mac n cheese definitely will make any average kid overjoyed.Wheelchair accessibility: The place is a little small, but intimate. More than accommodating for wheelchair access if needed.“
“I am so impressed, having served 29 years in the Army was not sure what to expect -LOL Visited with two other Retired Soldiers, both of which I served with around the world. We were all impressed with the museum as a whole. Well done displays showing the Army throughout history, past to present, with as much info you could ask for. We met "Steve" a guide who really knew his stuff & had interesting facts/stories about the displays in his area. Museum is a must see for everyone, but especially Veterans as you will leave feeling connected & proud of your Service. Families will leave with a better understanding of military life.“
“Came here 30 mins before closing, the owner took us in anyways ,they Have Perfect heated outdoor seating, absolutely phenomenal service and food. The owner herself Made my dog his own chicken and rice and even brought him a ball to play with, def will come “
“The food was fantastic. We had the free-range bison tartare, carrot salad with puff pastry, striploin steak and double-ravioli with cheese, potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The only challenge that we had was the acoustics; if we lived in the neighborhood, we'd come back on an off-hour during the week :)“
“We had not been here in a long, long time, but decided to go again after touring it as a potential venue for one of our son's weddings. Unfortunately, the size of the largest room could not accommodate his group, but we loved the location and ambiance. So my spouse and i went there to celebrate our anniversary last night. When I booked online, I had requested the oldest room, which dates back to the 1700's and has a huge fireplace, old walls, original floors. When we got there we were told that they had closed that room due to a wedding outside of it that we would be able to see through the windows, but had set a table up in there just for us, if we wanted to sit there. We were blown away and said yes. We had our own room, the waiter was VERY attentive, honestly, we felt like VIP's. This kind of treatment for folks who are not known or regulars was outstanding. The food was ok, not the very best, but nice. We are used to fine dining and outstanding food. Overall, the experience was lovely. We finished up the evening sitting in front of the huge old fireplace, with a roaring fire, sharing a dessert and sipping an after dinner drink. Cedar Knoll TAKE A BOW!“
“I love this little gem. The GM is just a jewel. It was my second lunch visit there. Jacob treats guests like royalty. My companion asked a lot of questions regarding wines and spirits. Jacob was patient and extremely knowledgeable. I'll be back very soon. Thank you for a lunch to remember.“
“In this busy world taking very good care of all customers!!! It’s really amazing. The young girls and the man will always greet you with true respect.I tried different locations wings but this one’s wings cook and seasoning perfect and result BEST WINGS.I tried their Sub,Burger, Fish and salads and all make me and my family happy.I will recommend others to come and try their best foods…….“
