“I was so amazed just by walking in how friendly the staff was. The atmosphere was very lovely and as soon as we walked in we had the cashier ask us if we needed any help with the menu. The wait wasn’t bad at all for what we ordered. We got 3 cheesesteaks, Crab fries, Fish, etc.. The food just tased so immaculate! I have no complaints whatsoever and will be returning.“

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“One of those neighborhood gems that punches way above its weight class. It deserves to be a lot more consistently packed with diners and bar customers for the quality of food and drink.

It's not an Instagram trap and located in a modest shopping center where the anchors are a Home Depot, post office, and animal hospital, so IYKYK. My only request is they bring their roast duck entree back to the menu, that was my go-to and so delicious.“

Though I will warn you it’s real strong. I tasted mostly lemon but it had a hint of maple and tea. Which is ironic because strong taste is why I prefer tea over coffee (if I had to pick between the two). Regardless, these people deserve some love especially in the economic crises we have.“

We sat outside on a beautiful day, and our server, Elias, was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. As someone with celiac, I really appreciated how helpful he was in guiding me through the gluten-free options on the menu! The food was delicious, and we especially loved the baked brie appetizer with fig compote and honey. They were able to substitute apples for the bread, which made it both celiac friendly and absolutely amazing. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend!“

“My husband and I had dinner on a quiet Wednesday evening. We shared guacamole which was very good with some unusual little additions. My husband had the beef steak and loved it. Again unusual ingredients made the dish very delicious. I had the pork which I had enjoyed a year ago and again I loved it! The service was very attentive. The chef came out so we could tell her in person how much we loved it all!“

Sooooo great!!!!! Has only improved since we had to move. New setup is incredible and drinks have surpassed the original menus leaps and bounds! GO HERE!

Sets the bar by which we measure all cocktails. Never disappointed, each menu always multiple amazing options. I can count on my hands the number of times i have got a cocktail someplace else and NOT been totally disappointed in comparison.

Ambience is brilliant, lively but not too loyd. Brilliant date night. Service is always wonderful and light bites are incredible.

Brussel sprouts are the best around and the pork belly is beyond amazing.“

“Honestly, this was the best service I’ve ever received! Our server/waiter was Nick and he truly made our day. So much so that we decided to leave him a substantial tip. Nick is very social aware, knowledgeable about their restaurant and items, and he thouroghly explains the highlights of their menu and a brief history of their establishment. He regularly checked in during our dinner but what really sets him apart is his high charismatic and warming energy. This was not only for our table but the surrounding tables as well. Extremely respectful and kind, and a prior service member !

“this was the best experience i had for my birthday and 1st time being here and Timothy was our server and he did an excellent job with his smiles and friendliness and our wonderful bartender Jay zehring was very friendly and kept the smiles going and both were fantastic so whenever you go in greet Timothy and Jay and the drinks were very very good and food was excellent. the whole crew was very friendly and kind and greeted you will lots of smiles and the place is well cleaned and if you have never been to manchester lakes in springfield please do so. i rate them 5 stars 🌟“

“Loved our experience at Mt Vernon Restaurant. The restaurant fits the aesthetic of the rest of the property and feels like a step in the past. Has proper southern fare at a good price. Only disappointment was the wine selection. Even though Virginia has a great wine selection, there was only 1 bottle on the menu.“

“After a 12 hour car ride to our hotel, this was an Amazing and Delicious dinner for our family of 4! Very affordable. We’ve paid a lot more for a lot less, and we even got dessert! Our kids rated it a 10 out of 5 and that’s huge for them. Highly recommend!! Will be back!“

The restaurant wasn't too crowded. Jayla asked if it was our first time at Blackwall Hitch, which it was, so she went over the local favorites. She recommended the flaming crab dip and it was delicious!!! Jayla offered us extra Naan chips which I thought was generous for an upscale restaurant. I asked if she could bring us extra with a to-go box to take the rest of the dip. We also had the mahi mahi tacos and chicken-pancetta flatbread - both were great. Jayla often checked on us. We ordered the tots and got something very different than expected that she could not have and i thought was fair at best. However our entrees were great. I had a very tasty steak in a good salad and her burger was modified to her liking with a little input from staff. We sat at the bar and service was good despite it being one persons first shift there. Will go back and order off the great wine selection!!!“

“We have been meaning to try Kiln for a while, and were not disappointed. The restaurant is cozy. The servers were all very dedicated and attentive. And the food was delicious! The cabbage in particular impressed us. Kiln is working hard to serve its hotel clientele from around the country while competing in Old Town - a difficult line to walk. I hope Kiln will continue to learn and grow and become another Old Town staple.“
