“First I would like to say that I wish there were more than 5 stars. My son and I are visiting the DC area for the Cherry Blossom festivities. My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! My son said the food was the closest to the food in India that he has had here in the states. For my first time... OMG!!! I am HOOKED! The only bad part is that I have to go back to Florida and wait impatiently for my next visit.“

“I have been twice to this place and both times the experience has been good. Zucchini kofta and daal makhani was good but I felt paneer pasanda can improve. Their menu has a very limited vegetarian options which is kind of disappointing as it would be difficult to go again and again due to limited vegetarian options. The ambience was exceptional and serving staff was courteous. They really took care of my Food Allergies.Drinks were average.Give it a shot and try for yourself!Dietary restrictions: If you tell them about your food Allergies they will take care of those.“

“This was a terrific restaurant, we really enjoyed our meal. Expensive, but you really get the value. High-end service and great food. The wine and cocktails were excellent as well, and we got to meet the owner, who was very nice and gracious.“

“We were looking for a spot to have lunch after checking out a local museum. This was on a list of places I wanted to try so we tried it out. Ambiance - It wasn't as fancy as I imagined it would be, but it was still nice. I looks like a lot of people come here for lunch. Food - The food was good. The palak paneer was a little sweet for me, which was kind of weird. The butter chicken could've used more spices. The tomato was the prevalent flavor. The garlic naan was on point! Service - The service was friendly and attentive. They made some menu suggestions, but we already knew what we wanted to order. My son could've used a refill of water though. Overall, I'd recommend this spot. I'd like to come back to try their desserts.“

“Good quality, modern take on Indian food. The palak chat is an absolute must try. The paneer tikka was flavorful. The sweet potato samosa were nice but could be better. They came with the tamarind dip but a spicier dip would be better to cut the sweetness from the sweet potato. We also got the biryani which was good and the cheese kulcha tasted yum too. I went there for my birthday so they even gave us a free dessert. Overall, very attentive staff and the place has a good ambience along with good food. Make sure you make a reservation especially over the weekends as they might be booked out.Vegetarian options: lots of veggie options to choose from.Dietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian friendly. Customizations for some dishes can be made if requested.Parking: We found street parking which was paid, but in case you don't find that, there are some more expensive public parking in the area where you can park your car.“

“Service was excellent and food was pretty good. The prawn vindaloo and daal fry, in particular, were tasty. However, portions are quite small for the price (and seemed to have shrunk, along with an increase in $ over the last year or two) so wouldn’t say it’s good value for money, especially when compared to other comparable Indian restaurants in the DMV.“

Would definitely recommend?Vegetarian options: There’s a variety of vegetarian options as well. The Spinach is very good!Dietary restrictions: Tasty Halal food and Vegetarian options.“

“This was BY FAR the best dosas and Idli we have had in years! Chef Paul is amazing and he told me he doesn’t believe in catering or delivery because South Indian food is best served hot and fresh and I couldn’t agree more! The Idlis melted in my mouth. The dosas were just perfect - the masala and chutney and sambhar -10/10! Go - no run to this place!“

We had the chicken curry and chicken makhani with garlic naan bread. All the food was amazing and would definitely recommend to try this place out.“

“A family run and operated restaurant. Manish and his sons not only deliver the best Indian cuisine, but they welcome all with warth and kindness. As for their food: first timers will love the chicken tiki masala. We love the lamb or fish, biriani. I personally found favorites in two vegetarian dishes that have convinced me I could totally go vegetarian one day. ?“

“This place is an awesome place. But I noticed one thing about one of the Indian customer that they are being so rude about the service. Customer service was awesome. But the lady was rude. It’s my personal opinion about not being so rude with them. You don’t know how people eating in Gaza. Allah can take you same position within a short time period that you can’t imagine. Please be honest about your reviews.“

“This place is neither an Indian nor a Mexican restaurant. The people who work here are mostly Mexican/Latin Americans (I didn't see any Indian Americans working here) but the food has Indian influence(the keyword is "influence"). So take it for what it is, It's good for a cheap quick bite but that's about it. Don't expect anything more than that. If I had half a star I would give this a 4.5 but I believe 4 stars is not too harsh either.“

Not only fine food takes the dining experience here to another level; outstanding warm service does. Attentive and genuinely warm staff place every guest to a special space which can be nothing else than Indian hospitality. Adding on ambience of light and Indian classical music, it is a sumptuous, great experience that lures one back for more. “I've ordered from this restaurant multiple times and I have also dined in. It's now a staple for me. Their food is pretty consistent and is always on point when I order. I highly recommend their Salmon and Fish biriyani. It comes with a lovely yogurt sauce that pairs well with the rice. The rice and fish are well seasoned and it's enough portions to have leftovers the next day. The service is pretty quick but when I've gone it's not crazy busy so I've been fortunate. It's a nice casual spot to dine in on a date, with friends or by yourself!“

“My husband treated us to lunch from Krazi Kebob, and his recommendation of the Chicken Kati Rolls turned out to be an absolute game-changer for my taste buds. As someone unfamiliar with this type of food, I had no idea what to expect, but let me tell you, the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Chicken Kati Rolls. The chicken was bursting with flavor. The recommended side of spicy sauce added an extra kick that elevated the overall experience. To complement the rolls, we also ordered fries. They were perfectly cooked and paired exceptionally well with a mayo dip. Adding to the positive experience was the seamless pick-up process. Ordering was a breeze, and when we arrived to collect our meal, everything was ready and waiting. Definitely coming back!“
“Mild Indian food - fit and easy to try for rookie food explore. Anyway, overall is still tastes good. The highlight is about service, very polite and professional. Price is a little bit more expensive than others because it makes from organic products. Location in downtown Silver Spring- no free parking spot near the restaurant - but there are a few meters parking around and garages are available.“

“We just ordered Rajaji via DoorDash. We went for things we hadn't tried before anywhere: Gosht Biryani (lamp and rice), Palak Paneer, Murgh Tikka (chicken grilled), and Garlic Naan (well, we had tried this before). Everything was fantastic: the biryani was flavorful but not too hot, palak paneer smooth and savory, perfect garlic naan, and the murgh tikka delicious. Honestly, we had to force ourselves to NOT eat the whole order (which was probably 25% more food than we needed). Can't wait to order here again.“

“You know when they say, "Hole in the walls have the best food." This is definitely true about this place. You would not expect delicious Indian cuisine from a chicken and waffle take out, but boy is it good. Love the chicken Biryani and their whole wings. Just plain good fast food, at a reasonable price with large portions enough for leftovers. .“

“Food is absolutely delicious and the staff at Himalayan Doko are the kindest! We ate family style and all the dishes were so full of flavor. The Tandoori Chicken Wings and the Lamb Rogan Josh were my favorites, but you can't go wrong with any dish - everything I tried was delicious.I am also so, so appreciative of how they were able to accommodate our reservation of a large party (20+ people). We had a great time and our time here was very memorable. One of my favorite restaurants in D.C., I will be back!“

“Awesome food and great service. It took a while for us to get the food but the chef did an amazing job. “The tandoori chicken (asked them to make it extra spicy) is the best I’ve had in the city. Comes with rice/naan and chickpeas. Not ideal to dine in though. Just take out.Unlike most reviews here I do NOT recommend the butter chicken. Tangy/sour, runny and a strong tomato flavor and a whole lot of food coloring. Not authentic.“

“Ordered over the phone. Just a little too far to deliver. Carryout picked up in store and it was not as visually appealing as the pictures but flavors were SO on point! Asked for extra spicy vindaloo and the ghost pepper chicken. They did NOT mess around. Garlic Naan was very good. A little chewy but again flavors we all great.Parking: Parking lot is a little sketchy. Police officers are everywhere.“

“I hadn't been here in years - and I'd forgotten just how exquisitely wonderful the whole experience is at Ananda! My daughter and I came here to celebrate my birthday - and Ananda did not disappoint! My mood was majorly elevated the moment we walked in the door and took in the gorgeous lavishness that is Ananda. From the warm and welcoming greeting to the decadent desserts this was a 5+ experience! We had Vegetable Samosa Chaat for an appetizer (enough for a whole meal!), Mint and Chili Naan (you must try!), Lamb Vindaloo, Fish Curry, and a side of Palak Paneer. For drinks we had the non-alcohol Organic Berry Smash and Goji Iced Tea both of which were delicious! Although stuffed and sated we HAD to get dessert (it was my birthday, right?) and ordered the Gulab Jamun (oh so warm and scrumptious) and the Flourless Chocolate Torte w/ ice cream. Wait staff and servers were all extremely personable, friendly, efficient, and kind. Ananda is a just tad on the pricey side - but worth every penny! I can't wait to go back! :)“

“Nice eating point, ambience is good. Food taste is average, ordered dal makhani which contained mixed lentils (yellow split gram). Have never tried a dal makhani with yellow grams, not tasted to expectations. Other things ordered was shahi paneer and naan which was good. In case you are a dal makhani lover so check it out. Overall food quantity was good and taste too.“

“I found this small Indian restaurant while visiting Howard University on a Saturday afternoon to referee rugby match. They have a very large menu with all of the Indian basics. Even though I was alone, the food smelled so good that I decided to order 3 entrees to go. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Special combination, which came with a generous pile of different meats, including some chewy sausage-like things, some spicy lamb, and some excellent tandoori chicken (the meat was accompanied by some chickpeas in a sauce and spinach with cheese cubes in it). I also ordered a lamb vindaloo and a dal makhani (lentils). Both were excellent, but they are not joking when they say that their vindaloo is spicy -- it made me cry on at least two of the occasions I ate some of it (still have leftovers sitting in the refrigerator for tonight). The rice and the naan were also excellent. Total bill was just over $60.“

“Jyoti was absolutely perfect. Every detail placed in the environment mattered, and provided a welcoming atmosphere. The service was impeccable! Our waiter was kind, patient and attentive which is what we needed after a long busy day. The food didn't take long to arrive, and you can't even imagine the excitement on our faces when it arrived. I wouldn't call myself a "foodie" but I do enjoy the pleasure of eating tasty food and this spot is it!! Order their Chai and prepare to feel amazing. Also, the perfect date night restaurant.“

“I had not dined at House of India for a long time and decided to have dinner here while I was in the neighborhood last night, a Saturday. Dinner was wonderful -- vegetable samosas (spicy but not too much!), chicken tikka, roti. Wine by the glass did not seem over-priced compared to trend I've been seeing at other places, and it was a generous quantity that lasted through the meal. Restaurant interior is nicely decorated and feels very cozy at the same time, though they look ready to handle a crowd. I'm glad that they have avoided putting up any large TV screens, which can spoil dining out rather than provide a distraction, in my opinion.“

“Great service (no line), very friendly staff and fair prices. On par with a chipotle but for Indian food. The chicken Tikka masala was divine, the lamb vindaloo was a little tough. The chick peas and seasonal vegetables were great sides. The lamb vindaloo was described as spicy, but if you are used to Indian spice levels it was pretty mild.No restroom and only bottled drinks for sale.Would go back.“

“Good affordable Indian and Pakistani food. Portions were were great and allow you to add different types of other Indian dishes as a side for only an extra $1 or $2. Really good deal honestly. The food is good and above average but don’t expect too out of this world. One of the kabobs felt a little burned and the garlic naan could use a little more garlic. The lamb biryani was probably one of my favorites and it was a huge portion. Will be back for quick affordable Indian food.“

“I quite enjoyed the chicken biryani ($20.90, tax included). The presentation was novel with naan as a bowl cover, which was then cut off to expose the biryani. It had generous tender chunks of chicken and I’m glad they did not shy away from the spices. The interior had a good contrast of the dark wood and the colorful mural-like wall coverings.“
